Thanks for the nice comments. The cadenza is our own, based on Kreisler’s “Schön Rosmarin”. We took Quantz’s advice to heart, where he writes about cadenzas for wind instruments: a cadenza you can play in a single breath is often preferable to a long cadenza that adds nothing to the piece. Long cadenzas actually risk destroying the feel and atmosphere of the concerto itself. We like it short and sweet.
The cadenza is our own, it’s based on Kreisler’s Schön Rosmarin. J.Quantz advises wind players to limit their cadenzas to what they can play in one single breath, and that’s good advice for string players as well...
