Wow, The Philippine National Anthem in a native language is just heart-melting! Thank you, Talaandig tribe! Thank you Kulas. We wouldn't have heard this if not for you! Thank you!
Thank you Mr. Jennerman for showcasing various indigenous tribes of Mindanao and of the Philippines in general. I've only read about these subjects in textbooks as a youth growing up in the late 60s, 70s and early 80s as we didn't have the technology we have now....through the power of social media, you are the medium that brings these to us even though a whole lot of us your followers are in various parts of the world.
I wish someone would record Filipino indigenous people playing their music and make this available online for purchase. It can help raise funds for indigenous communities.
@@illoc There is so much more than Cordillerans though. I want a record of EVERYTHING before they are lost. The Lumad, the Tausug, the Maranao, Maguindanao, Sulodnon, Mangyan, Ati, Aeta, Sama, etc. Very few northerner Filipinos even know what Lumad culture looks like.
Close your eyes while listening to that bamboo flute rendition and it will transport you to a very peaceful place like in the deep forest surrounded by nature … amazing!

Wow, first time i heard "Lupang Hinirang" in a different Philippine dialect. Makes real sense since Filipinos are not just Tagalogs. Thanks for showing that. Way to go, Kyle!!!
Thank you so much for showing this!!! This was truly special to see. I enjoyed seeing the dances and hearing Oliver's beautiful flute music. How fun to see the young children learning their dances and being a part of the welcoming ceremony along with the adults. It reminded me of my time with the University of Hawaii Fil-Am club and learning various Filipino dances. Those are some of my fondest memories, and they make me wish I could be there enjoying the Talaandig culture along with you and Kumar and be able to learn their dances, too.
Hi Kulas.. Thank you for this fascinating and very informative video showcasing various talent of indigenous people in this tribe. I would like to extend my appreciation especially to Oliver who played a beautiful music for his tribe and for us. His talent is exceptional. Please let me know how, even in small way, be able to reward him and to let him know that we appreciate his talent.
The flutist played beautifully. The sound from the bamboo flute was so melodious (6:42 till 7:30). I felt like listening to it longer. Oliver Mumulaay can record his flute music and share these online. Such wonderful music to me. Thank you for sharing Oliver's music, Kulas. Appreciated the flute music a lot!

Much appreciation for the amazing cultural experiences and heartfelt community from the wonderful Filipino people. Appreciate all the cultures from around the world and much respect.
I was born and raised in the Philippines and Mindanao is foreign to me, never set foot once and it is with sadness and regret by not doing so. Thank you Kulas for the opportunity to see the inner beauty of the country. Preserving such important cultures for all to keep and appreciate.
How nice preserving culture like the Talaandig culture through their dance, music, instruments, rituals, costumes, belief, and soon their products. Sulong SalikLakbay program by DOST and Kulas. Mabuhay!!!
The Flute guy was amazing and the kids, the musicians and the dancers are awesome..What a nice and traditional culture you had showcase d once again..Thanks Kulas..😎🐕🇨🇦😘
Thanks for making my day…..so many smiles, laughter and good vibes. You make me appreciate the 43 years I have spent with and within the Philippine culture…
Interesting to see the costumes. As a child growing up in Mindanao in the 50’s and 60’s, I remember that most of the indigenous tribes in Mindanao wore woven “patadyong” or “ malong”, and the men were often seen in woven shorts and vests made of native fibers. Some wore gold bracelets. It was sad that a lot of folks in the city often looked down on them. My friends would try to mimic the ladies by trying to use the betel nuts for lipstick. My family had an “agong” to call us back to the house for meals. Mindanao was very pristine. I remember my father commenting each time he saw slash and burn”methods used upland, “ there goes the mountain.” So glad to see the preservation efforts - both culture and environment. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! That bamboo flute…I am amazed at discovering the other hidden gem of my own country…and the traditional dancing, drums and gongs. ❤️ Iloilo to Toronto …🇨🇦🇵🇭
Seeing the younger generation dancing their traditional dance is amazing. I hope they'll continue their arts, custom and traditions. Epic feature Kulas!

Kyle, I see how much you have a close conection with the tribe and respect for their traditions and culture. This is a good video because it brings, opens and welcomes us, your viewers, to the other side or what is beyond the mountains or lives that are meaningfully full of simplicity. 👍🏽Oliver, the flute guy, is amazingly creative and talented. I hope he would share or teach or hand down this knowledge to the next generation.👏🏼 Openly and truthfully sharing one’s life, specially from a good leader and person, is more interesting and has substance.
