I’m really so amazed at how you have lived your life like a Pilipino, not in the big cities in a secured condo, but in the province of a small town in Mindanao. Even in boring days like this I’m just glad you are still happily going about normal life.
I´m glad that you have fertile soil there, plant some Amplaya and Pepino on that part of your land and put trellis. In just a couple of months you will harvest. Ampalaya is so easy to grow and i know that is one of your favorite vegetable there. Goodluck with your Singkamas.
It is cool being reflective and is normally the case after a birthday. And no, Kulas, this video is not boring and we cannot expect you to be on the road and having adventures 24/7, or you will just get burnt out. This video is also fascinating for me, and others, as we can appreciate what life is like for people out there in their downtime. Kumar really is the Doctor Dolittle of Mindinao as he knows how to communicate wonderfully with the animals (and humans too). Just love seeing the chickens roaming free and happy. Long live Daddy Coombs!!!!!!
Barok… every single video has a story and that’s life. I left the Philippines in 1971 and I’m planning to visit next year for the first time. I can relate to all the things you do there and that makes me even miss the Philippines even more. With that said I watch all your videos. Thanks for sharing…✌🏼
For me, boring days are a blessing. It's either having a whole day of just relaxation or something that God wants to tell you to try something outside your normal routines. Best thing on a boring day is to keep your eyes & ears open for anything that might pique your interest. Oh and I envy the rain there, it's so hot here in Manila. Cheers Kulas.
Hi Kulas, I really like your house specially your place by the ocean. Your lucky to got that relaxing scenery. Can't wait my turn to retire back home(Philippines). Keep safe all the time!
Good am Kyle. Being from Seattle and the Pacific North West I actually don't mind the rain much. It cleans the air and keeps my garden green and lush. Seattlelites never let the rainy days keep us from enjoying our beautiful outdoors. If we did we would stay inside most of the year yikes! The sounds of the crickets remind me of when I lived on Malakal Island in Koror Palau just to your east. A soothing sound for me. Enjoy the week Kyle and never stop smiling 😃.
Bamboo shoots a good source of fiber, and that's a fact ( we call it rabong in Ilokano, labong in Tagalog ). We have it as achara...or dinengdeng. I miss that! And yeah,,, the jicama grows in that kind of soil, I think... sandy.
I actually miss the rain here in the Bayarea ( middle of draught )... the sound of rain falling on the rooftops...just a wonderful morning to wake up to!!! Thank God it's raining in the Philippines. You got a limitless source of water, loved the way you collect rain water, and love your bathroom, shower.
Champorado and dried fish (tuyo) perfect breakfast meal and lugaw for lunch and dinner on a rainy gloomy day. Above comfort food should cheer you up too!
You should divert the water from the overflow away from the house. It will erode quickly. Greeting from Owen Sound, Ontario. Coming to Davao this summer.

Shalom,Kyle...this vlog as you called it raw, random and simple but for me it's wonderful...a lot of awesome finds.First,it's very Filipino...borrowing some pots and then return it after washing..."i-uli ng mga kaldero,brod"...lol. I like your bathroom/CR. Your whole house has a touch of our filipino culture and that bamboo tricycle miniature is beautiful,it has light on it so it could be used as a night light to illumine your room. Wish I could have a house with that same concept because I'm also a lover of very filipino stuffs...even in food... I really love our local cuisine. Amping, brod Kulas.
Fave type of vlogs! 9k more to 1M subs! lets goooo!!! thanks for everything brother! im a filipino who migrated to Canada and went back to PH again coz of you haha
Bamboo shoots are considered as one of the useful health foods because of their rich contents of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, fibres, and minerals and very low fat. Though bamboo shoots provide lots of health benefits, their consumption is confined mostly to Southeast Asian and East Asian countries.
A Scottish-Canadian friend of mine in the office learned about the bidet in Philippines from his buddy Filipino migrant friends. He announced during our operational meeting that the Filipino bidet and use of "tabo" Is the most genious invention of Asians. In fact, he is happy in using it too! 😁😁😁. He wishes to go to Philippines in the near future and experience the fun and laughter in Philippines. Power on sa mga Filipino Canadians sharing their culture with colleagues here in Canada!
We use to have "kwaresma" during march which litterally the pick of summer, then followed by april which means "abril=or to open abri" so summer's coming to an end and rain should start a softly like we call it "taligsik", then we have flores de mayo on month of May which means the plants starts to produce flowers or some rains but not that heavy because its still a summer. June is honyo, most people believed that this month is good to start a family that's why you commonly heard of a"June bride" because this month is neither rainy nor hot summer and most of all? the flowers starts becoming young fruits. The rainy season will gradually starts at july or holyo means fruits are getting ready to be ripe. Then august is the start of harvest, most fruits are starting to get ripe, thats why its called "agusto = pagusto" person who was born this month are often joke of being spoiled bratt. Followed by "ber~beer" months which means the pick of harvest. People drinks more beers since it usually good months, september "septembre=syempre", october "oktobre= ok pag abri", november "nobyembre=open beer" till december "desyembre=(lobi-lobi) love! love!" which where the epic Christmass and preparation for new year. January is eniro means to starts of. There's a saying that goes on January "Happy New year! Happy new dear!". Then Febuary is favorable month of love (valentine's day). And a person who was born on this month are often JOKE about being "kulang-kulang" either crazy or super intellegent because this month is just happened to be short of days (28-29) it is the windiest month of the year too. This is the story of Phils. year round. If you ask for march? then scoll up!🤗
Thanks for your videos. Really enjoy watching them they make you relax. Bamboo shoots in one cup of bamboo shoots 3.9 g of protein and 6.6 g of fiber 😎
the compound is being developed very well indeed, but perhaps you need to put in a covered walkway that connects all the buildings, something that should not be terribly difficult and expensive to do...

Singkamas ppant needs a trellis to.climb up and grow. For me it is better planted beside a fence if there is no trellis
