I can relate as my aunty passed away 4 years ago from breast cancer and those 4 christmases, easters and birthdays have been so bloody hard without her. 😔😢 she was the only one I could turn to in times of troubles and ask advice to. I can't do that anymore. Im stuck now for that and dancing and singing with her. 😭
I like these husband vs husband competitions, especially when doing something like geography & history. You both redeemed yourselves with the states & u did great on Civics. I get tired of mostly Europeans looking down their noses at us because we don't know Geography, you already did the 50 stares & Europe, do Africa next as far as identifying the countries, 54 of them. yea, do one that is more difficult but maybe do some global history as well. I know that the US Constitution was written in tandem with the French Constitution and they were both ratified in 1791. Franklin and Adams had a huge say so about what would be in the Constitution and thus would really not give sole credit to Jefferson although I believe Jefferson was in office at the time and had to come up with a something to replace the Articles of Confederate as the US government was going bankrupt at the time and the US Government needed to mandate taxation. So in the end it was the need for mandated taxation which lead to the Constitution. Also, the main reason for the Revolutionary war was taxation without representation. Each colony had their own presidents but they did not have any say so in the House of Lords and the House of Commons back in London which prevented them from stopping the British from taking moneys away from the Colonies without replenishment of those funds. The specifics of all of this is very very fascinating and something that we really never go into depth with. Also, most college economic textbooks will refer to our economy as a mixed market economy based on capitalism and socialism. The Social Security Administration of the US is the largest social welfare program in the world at over $1 Trillion a year. One last topic is Freedom to Bare Arms. The current topic is at what point can that amendment be capped. Pro gun advocates are stating that it applies to any arm including machine guns and have indicated that they plan to challenge a ban on such arms in public in the next few years. Crazy to think that one day it will be possible to walk down the street with a fully loaded M16 or own a 50 caliber machine gun.
