I was just watching the 2017 eagles games. It’s such a night and day difference. The effort, ingenuity, distribution of the football, the forced turnovers, the dominating performances week after week. That’s what it takes to win a Super Bowl. The 2024 eagles team is not even in the same universe as that team. This whole organization is a shell of its former self. It’s quite sad to witness, actually. Either we do a complete tear down of everything from personal to philosophy, or we go the way of the dinosaur and go on a long stretch of mediocre, borderline unwatchable football.
They should be a shapeshifter team that can adjust to adversity depending on the match up they are built to compete if they are willing to adjust and execute. One of the most talented teams in the league can’t look around there locker room and see the talent they possess to collectively step out on the field and be willing to go blow for blow with anyone. You have players that want to embody a soft persona when the city is tough. Wide receiver 1 & 2 nickname Batman…toughness…Philly is Gotham…toughness. But we are forced to watch softness and passive play when history show Philly has always been tough. That’s why players like Slay struggles to find support here that goofy shit doesn’t work here. The identity should be so tough and not nice one the field it’s scary for option with this roster. I don’t care if you have to be an actor just stop displaying and playing soft it’s not fit for the crowd your performing for look at your teams history that’s what your fans are accustomed to and for all the players ass hurt for the fans being on there ass the way you play the game isn’t impacting the team in a positive way so imo emulate those that came before you and try to be better than them in your role in this city if you want to appease the fans and develop an identity
Nick Sirianni is terrible. The Eagles superbowl window is dead. Howie Roseman and Jeffery Laurie need to fire Sirianni and re-asses how they evaluate HC, adjust some of the control they have over the coaches, so we dont instill a philosophy the coaches dont believe in offensively and defensively. Get a coach who brings some playcalling, schematic, or gameplan virtue to the team.
