Thank you for sharing this list. SMOKESHOW burnt down my house!

Petar’s drums sound so good. That snare sound is dope!\
It looks like he's got a maple snare about 7 to 10 plys and to get that clean pop, try using a reverse dot coated head. He also has rings on it to dry it up and eliminate any overtones...not sure which rings hes using, they look pretty thick... One other thing he does is he is extreamly consistant with his strikes. All are in the same exact spot and with the same force. Makes eq and effects very easy to dial in. He's very underrated drummer.
You said it.
and he is a killer player
he is one of those who needs bass drum, snare and high-hat to play everything...
@@marc7574 Saw him play his heart out on a kid's drum set at their 2023 show in Philly. Killed it.
The tightness of that ensemble is just insane
So are your shorts
Insane is not strong enough. This wongness is getting out of control. Someone need to stop them. Call the funk police!!!
Theyve been getting away with these filthy grooves for far too long. We must elevate this case to the Parliment Funkadelic!
Yip totally agree can’t believe it. Really special
Just can’t believe that guys have become soooo good today ! And we worry about AI lol this is human music at a insane level thank you it gives everyone energy
As reminder, this show came after an amazing show of Tower of Power, dropping 55 years of pure soul in our faces.
Yeah, that's a solid support act for Cory and the Wong Notes.
unfortunately the sound during the tower of power concert was horrible. midrange and treble spit too much in the back of the room. first time I put earplugs in Marciac :/
first time that they only put one speaker rack on the front and not a second one in the middle of the room.
it was better with Cory, but still not the best. the harmonics on the guitar did not get along great ..
@@rammzuif Too big venue, and really not optimise for sound ... I had chance to be in front part and sound was OK. I wear earplug (good quality ones, with "flat" filtering) for all show, but it can correct bad sound choice unfortunately.
Attending to the concert. Then sleeping. Waking up. The concert is on UA-cam
I don’t think I’ve ever actually been jealous over a comment lmao. When they went back to Dean Town again I would’ve exploded, so happy for you brother!!
Google thinks you wrote "The brass arrangements are the most complex I have ever heard". The Wongnotes' horn charts are mostly by Michael B. Nelson of the Hornheads. They're great, surpassing even Prince's simple funk horns, but you must have never heard a big band arrangement by Duke Ellington or other jazz bandleaders.
A fond mon gars
Zappa plays Zappa was as brilliant.
Frank Zappa ...
Yes but Duke, Buddy Rich, Blood, Sweat And Tears, Chase, The Brecker brothers are the Precursors and listen newcomers : ua-cam.com/video/dkWQ0Wqe7f0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DaveWeckl
Geez, the more I hear this group of great musicians, the more I like them and the more I'm amazed. These guys are TIGHT!!!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful music. God bless you all.
Petar is such an incredible drummer!
Everything sounds so damn TIGHT!
Cory Wong is the best rhythm-oriented guitarist of our time. He’s already making a huge splash. Loved this show
Nile Rodgers is still alive! But, sure, Cory's up there.
That's a big fuck no buddy. You are listening with your eyes. His band is sharper than he is. He would be scolded by a proper big for turning his shit up too loud.
:: You can't fake that. Only passion, dedication, hard work and pure love of music can bring that magic!! What a ride!!!! ::
Cory Wong has single-handedly made funk amazing again. I love his work with Vulfpeck, but this combo is always my go-to for enjoying Cory’s work
Strictly speaking, he is using both hands...
@@kjellgrndahl276 I agree, but I've rarely seen or heard picking hand technique which is as advanced as Cory's
Bass player is ****** killing!!! 🔥🔥🔥👀
I cant stop to listen this ❤
I feel like I have to stop calling myself a drummer now. 😭 That man is a beast! He makes it look so easy.
There's nothing better for me during my work day than to play a Cory Wong concert film or four.
The tempo on Assassin is almost a dare at this point.
I f*cking love that song🔥🔥
Most impressed with how tight the horn section is at that speed.
1:20:05 from @lanvyyoung's setlist comment. That's crazy tight!
When Cory Wong plays that fast his tone thins out; it's great for the horns.
This is the best concert that I have heard in my life.
That dry beat and that funky guitar hand. Awesome
I love how they bow to te groove.. no need to lyrics.. pure groove
Cory your band is off the charts with talent, definitely says something about your character that these cats are down with you. Thank you for the incredible music. ❤
Super tight guys, love the spacing and allowing all team members to showcase their own voice.
What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon...listening to you guys! Just the best music. Love Cory, of course, but Petar, Kevin and Kenni always bring it big time. Some new faces I don't recognize but they all sound absolutely fab. Whatever you guys are getting paid... it ain't enough!
UK saxophonist Alex Bone's solo album is pretty solid, with a track featuring Cory Wong and an absolute killer instrumental "In Dream" featuring Cory's godfather, the legendary Nile Rodgers 🎸.
Still love Eddie Barbash's tone 🎷
9 mos ago caught"Turb" by accident. Been hooked on cry,Mark Rentieria, dirtyloops, etc,. Open my desire to play again. What a creature dude. Don't stop. Cory Henry and all that. Good stuff. Keep it up.
J'y étais, c'était le feu!!! 💥
Thank you guys, you killed it!💪
Concert exceptionnel. Claque monumentale !
Je m en souviendrai longtemps !
Avec Tower of Power en 1ere partie quelle soirée !!!
🤩🤩🤩
Great to hear these classic 70s/80s inspired jazz funk sounds being played today by a great band!
Was there.. what a great show 🙏🙏
Thanks for coming in Marciac !
"Flamingo" is such a killer track!!!
Seeing the rehearsal this morning and then watching the concert now is so wonderful. Cory thank you so much for being so generous in releasing capital C Content
Petar on drums is the shit. Vulfpeck needs 2 people to nail dean town but Petar does it alone
Petar has really great hands! he has very fast singles and a great finger wrist technique. I would love to hear him play in other styles, going to look him up and see what else I can find.
In this video I miss the other percussionist though, Negah Santos. They complemented each other incredibly well.
im so happy Foreign Motion finally got a horn section. also mad love for Kev G this is the most "up front" ive heard the keys mixed in alive - it sounds killer
Gastonguay has really expanded and improved as a keyboard player!
@@skierpageHe's alway been very good but these last few years of touring have really as you say expanded his musicality and ability.
I was there, and it was without doubt the best concert I've ever been to!
Thank you Cory, thank you the band - hope to see you come back in Marciac!
These guys make me cry of joy! There is hope for music still!
Thank you Cory, we saw you live at Brno a week ago. You guys were all so exceptionally immersive. The tone of the band was amazing from the very first get-go. The fact that all of you play with such high emotions and still remain tight and professional is insane.
I never knew how great funk sounds live, but now I do and you've set the bar very high for any other funk-band I'll ever see perform:)
Can't wait to see you guys in Berlin in October!
Met Jay and Negah after the MSP show with O.A.R. Both were as kind as they are exceptionally talented. No pretense, just great people with unbelievable talent. Thanks Cory for posting such great content with such great people.
Quelle soirée ! Ce concert était incroyable !
Cory’s favorite dmb jam, JTR!
Drummer earned my respect after seeing this performance!!
That sax transitioning into 21:51 is just banging.
Never heard of Cory Wong until today when I was buying a new P Bass and he walked into the Fender Store in Tokyo and started playing with the band.
Wowza, cool groove, reminded me very much of a Weather Report tone and Yohannes on the bass rocked the place. Sorry Cory, I'm a bass player, so I'm gonna look at him first 🤣
Thanks for today though, a good memory.
Cory began on Bass...
Hey Cory! How about mixing this in stereo sometime soon? It deserves it!!
ugh, i don’t know why the broadcast had it in mono… 😩
Good to see that someone else noticed too!
The true encore! Phenomenal. Was waiting for Kenni to take the throne! Never seen y’all groove that much🤙🏻🤙🏻 awesome stuff!
Congrats Cory and team! I assisted to the gig in Sète driving from Barcelona a few weeks ago...Spectacular! It was worth it! James Brown and many others might be happy in funk's heaven. It's the biggest compliment I think of whenever I listen to this band.
I was there it was sooo awesome thanks for that night !!!
This is the best mixing I've ever heard I hear everything even with my airpods
Dat bass playa is one funky dude!
Fabuleux Cory Wong
God damn legends!!!!! Can’t wait to see y’all live again.
I’m a mediocre musician (at best). My wife is a professional musician and whenever I show her a Cory wong video she loves how tight the brass the woodwinds are. I must agree!!
🔥 JAY WEBB 🔥
Alex Bone🎷💥
Damn, everybody in the horn section, and the bass player, Kev. G getting better and better on keys and the guitarist is pretty good too.
Apart from those musicians, meh 😅
Accept no imitations - CW and his stellar bands define funk jazz in the early 21st century. No disrespect to Bruno, but these guys are simply the best.
it's nice to see and hear you, gentlmen. good work!
Had to check my playback speed on the video on Assassin. WHAT THE HAIL.
Im so happy and thankful that I get to see these insane guys in Berlin on Sunday! I can't wait to see the reaction of the people I bring 😁
That was wiiiiild 🔥 thank you so much for this night ! What a blast ! ✨🕺
Best live act - can't wait - September in Copenhagen.
Thanks!
Get so much of a Masayoshi Takanaka era vibes from your music and I love you for loving this stuff also. I love your podcast as well, and thank you for elevating “TV music” 😉
This guy is great. I saw him a few days before at Sète Jazz Festival. Splendid show.
Ahh the double encore.
Will be there the 9th of October. Getting in the mood already! 😄😄🎵🎵
Oh Yesssss, what a great show it was yesterday. All top musicians!! “Animal” on the drums 😂👍👍👍
I'm very happy and proud about my brother Jony T...
Time to come tour Australia I say! Brisbane in particular.
Sydney too please!
Perth ???
Dope as usual! Looking forward to getting my socks blown off in Paris in October guys!
Two thumbs up to who ever mixed this!
Crazy & Exciting Performances! 黄!
I think Jay might be onto something with that pedal board 🔥
Absolutely brilliant playing
SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!!!
I love it ! Great musicians ! very good groove music ! BRAVO CORY (OF FRANCE)
This mix sounds so good. I miss Sonny, but this bass player is dope.

cory's bird adlibs on bluebird are my favorite thing now
what a kick-ass band!!!!!!!!!
Cool to listen to different versions of songs, especially “Lee”
Funk machine ! So great. Awesome, thank you Cory and the band.
Can't wait to enjoy this in Oslo soon
I really would have liked to be in Marciac this year to see you! Hey -> I recognize the bassist's necklace (🔥) 😎 Great concert, thank you for sharing on UA-cam 🙏👍
Sick! Can't sit down to enjoy. So funky
I was 10 days earlyer in Sete, IT WAS JUST AMAZING !!!! By the way I love your jacket Cory !!! Thank you so much for that much good Wibes !!!! Don't change anything, except we'd love to have Nêgah Santos too next time ! Love
killing in the name by rage against at 1:02. awsome!
Jazz is awesome. But imagine listening to complex music all day and then Cory Wong shows up with funky beats, I would start a moshpit and dancing like maniac.
First time hearing him. Of course I subscribed.
Yeah, guys! You're crushing it!
I got so used to the normal band members that I was surprised when I pulled this up lol
Normal and Cory do not fit in the same sentence. change is good, bro...
@@fretfix1 and natural!
Amazing groove! Excellent
I live 3 hours from marciac and somehow i learn only now that cory wong was at Jazz in marciac fffffffffffffffffffffffff
I'd love to see new bands in the vein of Earth Wind and Fire...Chic.....Kool and the Gang....Kc and Sunshine Band etc.....
Jeeeez grid generation sounds so good live already
Thanks for this, such a joy to hear
When are you coming to Budapest, Hungary?😊❤
Grid Generation goes so hard
Felt like a Michael League piece.
@@madmatt112had the same thought! Some real Snarky Puppy vibes on that chorus.
Puro profesional, excelentes arreglos , musica, sonido, todo!!
Très bonne découverte pour ma part ❤
I love Sonny T, but this Yohannes made the band sound even better, what I thought it wasn’t even possible 😅
