I wish the most disappointing thing about myself was that I couldn't make bread or bagels from scratch correctly. Deliah! You are making from stratch!!! That a huge accomplish that you even take the time to do that! The true success is that you keep trying! Don't be so hard on yourself.

I'm not a mom at all. In fact, I'm in college, but I enjoy your longer videos. You have seemed a bit tense in these last couple videos, but I understand things are changing and very difficult. It's sweet that you are willing to be vulnerable. Remember to give yourself grace.

Coming from another mum of four, it's ok to choose easy sometimes. I know you obviously love making from scratch etc and good on you for that! But the weeks that are hard, buy the store bought yoghurt and bread! Having four children can be a lot and just surviving in this stage of life is totally normal. Don't beat yourself up for not being perfect. Serve some cereal for breaky, I can guarantee your children are not going to mind one bit! I hope this comes off helpful and not as criticism. You're doing great xx

Delilah, I am in metro Detroit. I am a Mom of 3 under 5. You have taught me a lot of things over 3 years. For instance, I copy paste your recipes to pack my freezers before having a baby. I can attest that I delivered a baby girl on December 18, 2023 and i am still eating from my freezer. Thank you! Also, I appreciate how you motivate me to do clean up and deep decluttering. This morning I was thinking about feeding my 4months old baby and I knew I can learn some baby foods recipes from you. I was right...now I am done making all the yummy baby recipes . Just when you feel discouraged remember that you are making a huge impact in a Mom across the Detroit River from Canada. Even if your content managed to impact me as one person that's a win.
Also, I appreciate that you do everything around your kids...and I felt validated that all my babies sleep with us. You are not a failure and you have God in your home. God bless you and your family.
Claire in metro Detroit Michigan ❤❤❤❤❤❤

This video brought so much encouragement! Often times UA-cam only portrays successes and the positive side of the story. Its great to see candid life with successes and failures and frustrations. You are such an amazing example of what a great mother looks like and I appreciate you sharing all of this with us. I completely understand how you feel about clutter as well!

I’ve been watching you since before I even planned on having kids. I have a little boy of my own now who will be 4 in October and you inspire me so so much. I didn’t have the best example of parents growing up, so having someone like you I can learn from has been such a blessing and I am so grateful to see that you also have some struggles. It makes me feel like less of a failure when things don’t work out perfectly like I planned it in my mind. Thank you so much for being such a good example❤

These words came into my mind: your worth is not determined by how well you're able to do something. Your worth is not determined by how energetic or efficient you are. You are worthy, period. That you can do things is great, but don't think your worth depends on it.

This video was exactly what I needed!
I have been going through a lot lately as a first time mom and this made me feel so understood. Perseverance is so difficult in a culture and time when its all about instant satisfaction.
Life is not like that and it can get very difficult to start over and keep our head high day after day.
You are an incredible person and to everyone out there who needs to hear this, you are not alone in this struggle. Thank you Delilah!

Tip for fresh milled flour - it takes longer to absorb liquids. So for example, if I am making a yeast bun recipe, i will combine all my wet and dry ingredients (with the exception of my little bit of water w/ yeast blooming) and let the flour absorb the liquids for about 25 minutes before adding my leavening agent and kneading.
Also, I usually add a bit more fresh milled flour to a recipe than traditional AP because freshly milled is much fluffier than AP.

Finally someone relatable! I subscribed instantly! It's so refreshing to see someone who doesn't give the air of perfection and having it all together and can admit that things don't always go well. I'm glad you persevered despite everything, what matters is picking yourself up and bouncing back.

This is honestly so amazing and such a sweet thing from the Lord!! I recently started my homemaking journey as a young woman preparing for marriage and yesterday I made butternut soup and it did NOT exactly turn out how I imagined it was going to😂. I felt so discouraged and really was getting stuck in perfectionism. Because also I was making it for my boyfriend and I to share, and was genuinely feel like I was going to let him down. This was suchhh a beautiful reminder and honestly exactly what I needed! I literally only found your channel this past Sunday too! Our Father is so kind!

Delilah, I’m a stay at home mom of 2. After having such an encouraging & mostly inspiring winter in the kitchen, I too have been in a rut lately. I was looking so forward to spring but I’ve found that surprisingly I’ve had such a lack of motivation & have noticed such a change in my moods. I find myself so irritable lately & I am not exactly sure why. I was walking through hobby lobby this past weekend and I looked over to a sign that said “be patient with yourself, nothing in nature blooms all year” I think it can also be discouraging when we find ourselves feeling this way in the spring / seasons when we usually would be inspired & happy, then we are hard on ourselves for feeling this way. Anyway, this whole time I was watching this video, it was like you were speaking straight to how I’ve been feeling. I can’t tell you how less alone I feel after finishing this video. Thank you so much for being authentic & honest, simply just knowing someone else has been feeling the same way I have been, makes me go easier on myself. This couldn’t have come at a more perfect time for me.

Hey! On the pasta, try standing on a little step stool so that you can put more of your whole upper body into the kneading. I do that since I’m short, but it really helps to keep you from just using your arm muscle. I hope it would be helpful for you too! I really enjoyed your video and thanks for sharing!

Thankyou so much Delilah for courageously sharing your discouraging moments, it really brings hope and encouragement to me reminding me that I am not the only person who is experiencing failure and that it's part of life, especially now that recently what i've been seeing online were things that are too good to be true, where mistakes are being edited or cut off. And sharing words from the the bible really really creates a huge impact. I thank the Lord for your life, may God bless you more and your family❣️

Sometimes emotions we carry are unavoidable. The fact that you listen to God’s words and always strive to be better makes you an amazing person. You are sensitive as am I. But I am much older and have had many years of mistakes. Trials and errors. You sound like a gentle soul. God smiles down on you for Blessed are they who are poor in spirit, which basically means you always know that you need God. I was a stay at home mom and at times could be very hard. Now I babysit my grandchildren. But, you are way ahead of me…I do not enjoy cooking. My husband I are retired and although, I cooked when the kids were young, he does the cooking now and I do the cleaning 😊😊❤❤

I love watching your content☺️ I’ve made homemade pasta a handful of times both by hand and in the kitchen aid. I use the ballerina farm recipe, which is 6 eggs, 4 cups of ap flour, 1 tsp salt and 1-2 tsp olive oil. The recipe says to hand knead for 10 mins but I use the machine for probably 7, until the texture feels right. I also have one of those pasta presses for making different types of pasta and I find that it needs a nice and non-sticky dough, which I find the ballerina farm recipe is perfect for. Hope that helps☺️

🍝Pasta Machines🍝 I had one maybe 10 years ago. It was an Italian brand name I can’t recall. Very was difficult to clean and made small batches. I ended up donating it, lol. Fingers crossed things have advanced since then. My advice is do lots of homework. Make sure you get a machine that checks all your boxes. It’s a single tasker machine that’s going to take up space in your kitchen. I do feel your pain! Pasta dough is tough!!❤

But rolling it out then do a trifold before thinning the noodle out either by rolling pin or attachment.

I can very much relate to this. I'm a work from home mom of three ranging in ages from 10 years to 5 months. Just today, I had leftover chicken I was going to save for baby food and today my husband took it for lunch (my fault for not telling him). I also just went to go clean out the chicken coop after getting the baby to bed and it started storming out. A lot of days it feels like I try so hard to get tasks done and I just don't get there, and I feel like a complete failure. Everything from laundry to my failed sourdough starter to my garden becoming overgrown with weeds and I just can't get in there to clean it out. I think we very often have very high expectations of ourselves and when we don't get there, we feel like failures. I just try to keep in mind that strength can grow from failure, and we don't learn without making mistakes. And sometimes it feels like everything is working against us, but life isn't about what was easy, it's about what we work to overcome. It also helps to remember the very most important thing in my life is my family and as long as they are well cared for, then I'm doing a good job (even if it means I have to buy a loaf of bread from the store instead of making my own). Wishing you the best!

Hey, Delilah! I learned how to make homemade pasta from our Italian exchange student many years ago, and for all this time I’ve been mixing the dough by hand as you did. However, I just made pasta the other day and used my Stan mixer to mix the dough, and it actually turned out great. I also tried using a pasta attachment for the Stan mixer, but I honestly did not like it as much as my manual hand-crank pasta roller. Hopefully this is helpful!

Hi, could you do a video on how to use and look after a sour dough starter and then your process making some loaves etc? I’ve just got a sour dough starter from a friend but have no idea what I’m doing. And I’ve come to trust your word on everything… haha

Oh my gosh I totally get this. I've tried sourdough and kombucha several times and it never quite comes out good so I have given up. Also we have moved away from bread anyway for quite a while now because I'm gluten intolerant and we are going carnivore

Every now and then my bread comes out very mediocre, borderline bad. My husband always eats everything, and the kids sometimes complain. BUT, when the bread turns out good again, the kids are the ones to compliment it first!

I ended up throwing away my starter. I realized I spent more time being disappointed than pleased.

The length of the ingredient list doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad or good. By law they have to tell you everything that’s in a food.

I believe you said Ephesians 15. The correct reference is John*15
Also I love you videos. You truly do make aesthetically beautiful content and I love relaxing and watching them.
My recent failures have been yogurt and my sourdough. I used to make yogurt weekly and the last 3 have been flops. So I just haven’t made it in at least a month 🤦🏻‍♀️. My bread has been so overproofed too. Not sure what I’m doing there lol but I’ll get back to it!
