    The problem with basketball as it currently stands is that the end of close games simply does not resemble the basketball of the rest of the game, and that's not a good thing. The Elam Ending should be altered in one way: win-by-two. That way, there would be room for extended games (akin to overtime) and allow for sustained drama as there will be games that end in multiple traded baskets, running up the final score.
    Unfortunately we won't see it in the NBA because the average fan kneels at the altar of tradition.
