That sweet little girl was so innocent, she thought she had done/sang something wrong the first time she saw the audience start crying. She can not only bring tough guys to tears, she can also bring 10,000 people to their feet.
A miracle. She has outstanding performances nowadays, with ethnic choirs of South Africa.
She herself said that what she has was given as a gift from God.
Amira was truly ordained and she often says when she sings something comes over her and she goes to another place where the angels are listening!

She is 20 this month, and still singing. She has just started a Bmus course at Pretoria uni to develop her knowledge of music. Though she has spent the lat 10 years producing outstanding performances, that are frankly jaw dropping. She herself puts her talent down to a gift from God and has pledged to be generous with her gift and to use it for the greater good. Half of her earning get directed towards her own foundation to help poor children in South Africa, where she is now based.
There are some wonderful videos of her on you tube, just start with those which have had millions of views, and you should have an enjoyable time.
She credits her amazing voice to God and believes it is task in life to share it for the greater good. So she has her foundation that builds playgrounds for kids in her home in South Africa and currently she is going to college.

I have watched this loads of times but still need the tissues! Little Dutch girl 10 years old here singing in Italian with her beautiful self taught voice! She will turn 20 this month, still beautiful, still sounding beautiful, still donating to her foundation building playgrounds in schools in South Africa where she now lives.

Amira is only 20 years old currently and has been blowing everyone away for eleven years! Her performances are amongst the most watched videos on UA-cam - and for good reason! There are multiple dozens of extraordinary performances for your to watch. If you were impressed with her audition for HGT then you simply cannot ignore the rest of her performances in HGT. She won it that year, by the way, with the largest winning margin in the history of that competition!
Also, do not neglect the stellar achievements of Amira when she is not singing! Do your research here and prepare to be stunned! This young lady does not have fans.... Instead there are hundreds of millions of people around the world who love her like a favorite daughter or sibling, or niece, and the reasons for that response are valid!
There are lots of excellent singers around the world however on the trajectory Amira is on she is well on course to be of the very best sopranos of all time....
Spend time getting to know Amira - you will not be disappointed! Essentially she is a once in a generation type prodigy and not just because of her singing!
She will be 20 this year. She still sings and loves singing. If anything, I think she is at least as impressive now as she was at 10. If you would like to see a completely stripped down, more recent performance, watch her cover of Gesu Bambino. It is filmed on a cell phone, her father playing the organ, in an otherwise empty church. It will show you the true beauty of her talent. I'm certain that she has worked very hard to develop the skills necessary to be able to do this but, the talent is a beautiful gift from God.

I believe she was 10 jrs old here. She is a marvelous teenager now , still singing the stars out o the sky. She is from the netherlands and lives in South Africa now . Her mam is south african her dad is Dutch. She is 18 or 19 now. Super soprano, but singing cross-over song as well.
Hello. Great reaction really ! Amira was ten years old at this time. André Rieu gave her just a few vocal lessons during a couple of days, but nothing else. So she was self-taught, just listening to Maria Callas and a few other sopranos on You Tube.
Anyway, when Amira was 13, during an interview, she was asked about her high vocal register, and she answered : "I just open my mouth big and the high notes come out".

As she was singing this, she thought she'd done something wrong because she saw people crying. 10 years old & she had the confidence to make the orchestra follow her instead of the other way round!
An Angel sent to bring some love into this troubled world. The people were reacting because the song is about a young girl pleading with her father to allow her to marry the boy she loves. A superlative performance. She trained herself by listening to opera arias and developing her voice to to deliver a quality rendition. She began training herself at the age of 7, and she had one masterclass with Andre before this performance. This child is loved by millions of fans!

He brought a South African youth fiddle group to Maastricht. He always does this kind of crazy things. But his show is a multi million dollar business and he travels the world with it since more than 20 years. Nobody can do it the way he does. And Amira has grown to be a star.

She in fact started at age 7 & took until age 9 for her mum to allow her to sing on HGT.
She graduated high school as valedictorian. Got her mouth copying Maria Callas. She would have gone to the Olympics as a distance runner but for the epidemic. She’s great at 20, just going to music college.

What absolutely fascinated me listenening to Amira at this age first time, and still does, was where the hell was she hiding enough breath in that tiny body for those long notes... and without even looking like she was breathing much... she makes it look like she doesn't need air to sing - 😂

Every fiber in my being says there was a tenured opera singer backstage doing the actual singing. Maestro Rieu's reputation precludes that possibility.

Actually, it DOES make sense - if you take into account the range of human intelligence. Amira was, and is, an extremely intelligent person - as her final school matriculation exam results showed. If you consider the average intelligence to be 50% of what is possible, she is in the top half-percentile of the human intelligence range - and she comes from a classically musical (at an amateur level) family.
Love Amira ❤ I saw her Talent show audition years ago, and how shocked the judges were. And you’re right, voice of an absolute angel. I’m honestly shocked a child’s vocal cords are capable of that! I’d love to know if anyone has scoped her chords, surely she has an adult voice box

It still baffles me that world class musicians have to have benefactors loan them instruments because they would never hope to afford one. 🙃

This performance came about six months after she won Holland;s got Talent singing Nessum Dorma and given that was done in Holland as well I imagine most there would have known what they were in for.

I suggest you start with the three songs she sang on Hollands got talent in 2013 which she won. You have a lot to catch up on. Her foundation which she started builds playgrounds for children in schools South Africa where she lives. Now attending uni in Pretoria.
I knew you would like it when I suggested her. She was 10 at this time, about an half year before this she won Holland got talent. She tought her self by watching youtube video's. If you follow her year by year she becomes better, look up Amazing Grace and Your Love, with both she was 13 years old.

Amira was 7 when she decided to sing opera. She watched opera stars on youtube and learned their mouth positions, etc. When she was 9, she went on Holland's Got Talent and her audition won her a trip to the live semifinals. She went on to the finals and received over 50% of the vote with 8 acts competing!!! She crushed the competition. She walks out, relaxed and confident, waving to her fans, having a great time and towers over the other competitors as a 9-year old. You should watch her semi-final performance of Ave Maria. @@PrymalChaos Oh, I'm so excited! I've missed your reactions. He has come out with a LOT of stuff since you last reacted. He also recently sang a duet with the great Placido Domingo! His grandson told him about Dimash and he was so impressed that he sang an aria on the show The Virtuoso's where Dimash and he were judges for young international child prodigies. You can see how versatile Dimash is on all 3 of the requested songs that I mentioned. He's like the 8th wonder of the world! Cannot wait!
@@LoveDimashali Domingo and Dimash sang microphone PopOpera. There is a video from the back of the hall where you couldn´t hear the voice of Dimash. at his peak, when at the same time Domingo(83) old voice still could be heard.
