Real grunts don't run
the 3 little grunts and the big bad elite.
One grunt said "Lets run up to him weapons drawn."
And then they all died XD. The End.
I love that they went back to classic ranks of Elites, and their weapons also show this.
Minor - Pulse Carbine
Major - Pulse Carbine
(Both can grab other weapons like Ravagers and Shock Rifles)
Ultra - Heatwave/Cindershot?/Energy Swords
General - Energy Sword/Ravager
(Both also use active camo)
Spec Ops - Energy Swords/Active Camo
The ultras and generals can also switch their weapon for something else if they randomly decide to. Its just a lot more rare especially for the general since the ravenger can be mortared at long range
As such, all the elite HVT's aside from the spec ops one can and will often drop their weapon variant for something on the ground more suitable to the engagement. Thav 'Sebarim, the one in the ghost with the Arcane Sentinel Beam, will quite often drop the beam for a stalker rifle from a jackal you killed if he's out of the ghost

That has always been my personal favorite thing about grunts. I would go in to fight a covenant squadron, and a grunt would throw a grenade which would then take own the squadron commanded. And I'd say
"Thanks for the assist."
Damn the marines (or whoever that was) just laid down an artillery barrage with a ravager of all things
I think those were natural Halo infinite brutes where because grunts were unsc sided and the elite was banished sided the brutes attacked the grunts as if they were marines

I've always wondered why the Covenant kept the grunts around. Are they worth the resources required to raise, arm and sustain the massive number of them needed to be combat effective? the fact that they can't even breathe the same atmosphere as the other member species has got to be insanely expensive from a logistics perspective.
They grow up incredibly fast. They are basically child soldiers. And methane isn't hard to secure
@@derekmensch3601 Plus they proved themselves in battle via the Grunt Rebellion, which could've broken the Covenant for sure if an Arbiter wasn't appointed to deal with it.

@@derekmensch3601 They proved that they could be a threat if used correctly. They're good as cannon fodder, plus manual labor, but give one a Fuel Rod Gun or something, they'll definitely be deadly. Hell, Spec Ops Grunts aren't bad either.

how many can you render? lore based. entire towns of grunts would be needed to take out even average elites. the game doesnt compensate for the actual lore for either species. it would be cool to see in canon what would happen.
I don't know how you summoned them but that was very nice but my only question is can hundreds of grunts kill a spartan
In lore a Spartan took on hundreds of grunts at once and won.
The pulse rifle is so shit. We lost the plasma rifle for this.

I mean you can kill a grunt with five shots of a the plasma repeater and besides it fires in bursts and it tracks in close range
