He said "villains or heros don't interest me" he likes morally grey characters, no wonder why he's my favorite.
I've never met the guy, but the people who I know who have spoken to him tell me that he'll be polite, but mention a poet or a writer who he enjoys and you have his time. He doesn't care about being a star, he's a proud Irishman who just loves the arts.
He seems to be too soulful for shallow Hollywood imo.

He connects so deeply with the characters he portrays, and that comes across on the screen. He just pulls you in, takes you on this ride with him.
I will watch any film he is in, regardless if it’s a genre I’d generally care for or not. If Cillian Murphy is in it, that’s all I need to know.

Peaky Blinders is probably one of the best shows that I have watched in a long time. His performance as Tommy Shelby makes you love him and hate him all at the same time. It's amazing to watch.
The fact that he has teamed up with Christopher Nolan on multiple occasions is also just wonderful. Christopher Nolan is probably my favorite director and his choice in casting is always spot on.
I hope we get to enjoy Cillian's work for many, many years to come!

I helped him find a book once in the shop I was working here in Dublin. I had no idea who he was, but at the time he was getting a bit of a fan base due to appearing on stage in The Playboy of the Western World. After I finished helping him a colleague came to me and said do you know who he is, I said I think he works in Tower Records or HMV🤷🏻♀️😉
Captivated by this gentleman since seeing him play Scarecrow in the Batman trilogy. Can't wait to see his movie this summer. Such an interesting & smart dude.
I totally agree. The Plastic Ono Band Album should be in the top 5 albums of all times in my view. If you listen to it, you can hear where modern day Grunge really originated from I think. Great Album...

I read an interview he did where he complained how when people meet him, they expect him to be like to my shelby and that people are a bit disappointed when he's not. He said it makes him feel sad because he doesn't have the kind of confidence Tommy has. The whole fame thing and people taking pictures of him when he's out and about, makes him feel insecure.😒 Gosh, I just felt sorry for him
Also he is much shorter in real life (5'8) than he appears on the screen...And people expect him to be much taller and they feel underwhelmed when they realise he is much shorter than they thought.
Never met him before but based on my observations from interviews that I watched, he looks like he is the opposite of Tommy personality wise, like; more shy, reserved and calm type where Tommy is confident, less introverted and the leader type. I don't understand why people expect actors to be the same person whom they portrayed as. It's just a role, a fictional character you know and he did a great job to portray someone who is opposite of his personality.
