      Venezualan food if flippaing AMAZAAANG. Just because one or two Venezualan restaurant acts the way this one does towards me doesnt mean I wont say that their food aint lit. Cause usually their food is lit. Just please let everyone know what theyre being charged for and it will be no trouble. This applies to every type of restaurant please.

      I ordered food from Grubhub with specific instructions for the driver to deliver my order to the back of the building. When he arrived security called me and said my order was at the front of the building and I told him to direct the driver to the back of the building. The driver didn't speak a lick of English and I ended up walking to the front of the building which is a large complex to get my order. I agree that employers in the U.S. should require a basic understanding of the English language as a condition for employment. I don't understand why some employers require U.S. citizens to speak Spanish but don't require English.

  • @aubrey0ninja
    @aubrey0ninja Місяць тому +12

    Service charges are usually part of the debt/credit card systems. A lot of companies that make the card machines for businesses have started to implement the “service charge” system to have lower rates for the business.
    My retail job has this system. And it’s not great, wish there were better options for smaller businesses.
    But I do agree someone there should know enough to explain this!

    • @DrDictator
      @DrDictator Місяць тому +2

      Wait, lower rates for the business? In what ways? I'm confused.

    • @aubrey0ninja
      @aubrey0ninja Місяць тому

      @@DrDictator the rates of the card machines, register system, and the overall service is lower.
      Our old system we would have to pay an 8% per transaction to the service provider. But the new system, at our store specifically, the customer pays a 3% service charge. But I’ve seen locations have as high as 10% for the customer, which is insane.

    • @DrDictator
      @DrDictator Місяць тому

      @@aubrey0ninja So the card machines, those aren't just a one time purchase, or even just like a subscription service that a business would pay per month or per year for all the transactions they're sending in to be taken care of and charge customer's accounts? The card machines and the businesses behind the card machines charge a per transaction fee that needs to also be taken into account by the restaurant?
      Admittedly, I don't really know anything about the industry behind the card machines in the first place, but that sounds so dumb and like that industry is making a lot more money than it probably needs to for how simple of a process they're providing to these restaurants. I imagine the data being used, the processing power, the system automatically calculating and then charging customer's bank accounts, etc. wouldn't cost that much for them to be needing an entire per transaction fee. Like that lets me be a little more sympathetic to the restaurant owners and workers now, considering it sounds like they're being almost scammed themselves in a sense.

    So,
    Im originally from The Bahamas(born and raised) and my family and I emigrated to Ohio in 99.
    I moved to florida in 2022 with my moving company and tbh when It came to prejudice I was more concerned about whites than Hispanics.... MAN WAS I wrong.
    I don't know why but Hispanics(esp in Florida... can't and won't speak for other states) are prejudice towards blacks here.... especially in HEAVY Hispanic cities a la Miami and Orlando.
    The service charge they run that game HEAVY in Miami and Orlando and some of it has to do with tourists not knowing any better and the stereotype that Black people DON'T tip.
    No disrespect to Hispanics who are genuine working hard loving everyone.... moving back to ohio next month... they(amongst other things) i won't be missing about Florida

    I’m home bound and wish I could be who I was three years ago. Cook my own food for myself and others but I can’t anymore due to me having 10 strokes. But I’m ordering daily based on what restaurants ur visiting and so far you have been on point. Sucks being home bound so thank you. The tip situation, ur right. They hope u don’t notice. I’m a big tipper as well but forcing it on us make you not wanna tip at all. I order in so I don’t need a force tip, I’m thankful someone can get my food or groceries for me since I can’t but don’t try me

    I'm from GA and been here since the 80's; when the businesses are self-owned, they tend to do that, IF they're foreign, they're gonna do that - and you'd better call it out before you drive off! Don't be irate...have your mind right because they can have 911 there faster than you can flick a booger.

    Tips was based on the service that was provided to a customer. It shouldn't be forced on anyone. The food industries needs to change. Stop basing your staff to a below wage job to have them living off of tips. It's ppl that is rich and are tight wads. Or arrogant to tip. I tip based on the service provided. A big tip depends on the service. I tip door dash drivers as well etc etc. I don't mind tipping ppl. I'm glad to help. Dont force ppl. If restaurants paid their staff decent wages we wouldn't have to worry about any of this shyt. Change the wage fix the issue. I hold the industry accountable. Times have changed those ways don't apply.

    Yeah it’s not just them. Saw a video where a guy ate inside the restaurant and they forced him to tip a certain percentage. Couldn’t even choose other. And then the amount they were telling him, didn’t equate to the percentage of the bill.

    I was with you up until the end, I was definitely ready to put this place on my list of spots to try... But fuck that shit. I honestly hate ty automatic tips and service charge, ESPECIALLY on to-go orders. I lived in Atlanta for years and this started becoming a thing during covid. They do it all over the city for sit down and to-go orders and I fucking hate it. I've actually crossed places off that I enjoyed based off of this for the exact reason you mentioned, staff and management are assholes about it typically. I refuse to give them my business.

      'Pupusa' is the NATIONAL food of 'El Salvador'. They're the equivalent of 'tacos' to Mexico and Mexicans. 'Arepa' is the national food of both Venezuela 'and' Colombia. 2 different things (pupusa and arepa). But rather 'similar'.. sure...

    In regards to the service fee, I've noticed that it's becoming more common for restaurants to charge a fee for to go orders. That's likely what the charge was, not a tip but a to go upcharge. No idea why the upcharge exists, but I'm seeing it more and more these days.

  • @MrYawwwn

    The service charge is in Minnesota too. But it’s so they split some of it with the cooks and other workers so the server doesn’t get all the tips. I’m not sure if they do it on to go orders here though…

    When I get a smoothie, especially if I ask any questions, I add a dollar tip and rollover the change to the next dollar. So, somewhere like $1-$2 tip for to go if I walk in to pick it up and carry out myself 🤷🏾‍♀️
    If I order online, I might do more if it’s a big order (depending on the time, because I know someone has to sit there and punch it in, prep it, find it when I come in, take cash, etc.) A lot of mom and pop stores do it all, so they’re $3-$5 per togo, and lastly, delivery gets a proper tip.
    I don’t want anything automatic unless it’s Uber which clearly disclosed it ain’t advance

    Never heard of a fee for to go order? That’s wild! I agree with the language. I always try to learn as much as i can before visiting other countries. Now, her tude might have been due to being recorded if you had your phone/camera out. Not that anyone needs an excuse to be rude these days. Sadly, I’m more shocked when people are patient, kind and happy. 🤦🏾‍♀️🫠🤷🏾‍♀️The food looked legit though. If you’re looking for more spots and you’re in Buckhead or Decatur, one of my Favs is Iberian Pig 🤌🏾
