German/Deutsch: "Ist ein satanarchäolügenialkohöllischer Wunschpunsch!"
English: "mega-magic mega-magic retro-potion"
English translation of the German Intro:
Behind the dark walls of Nightmare Mansion,
The evil Wizard and his witch-aunt are brewing
The dreadful, wicked punch of punches,
Bravely, cat and raven are trying to save the world,
But the Wunschpunsch is a Satanarchaeolidealcohellish Wunschpunsch
Only two friends are stopping the magic,
Follow the Satanarchaeolidealcohellish Wunschpunsch
Smelling toxic, dripping curses, World destroying.
Dankeschön!!! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️
Whunshpunch mean punch of whishis in Germán nice wordplay
Only the german version can nail Michael Endes Puns and Neologisms
German ver has such a great title logo
English: Its a Wunschpunsch! Mega magic, mega magic retro-potion, Wunschpunsch!

Always funny to see how a german show, that you know since your childhood, sounds in different languages.
in Russian they often just say overall information 'bout authors, not the song translation itself
Yeah, it might certainly have seemed like a kind of tribute to authors, but finally sounded somewhat out of line IMO. Well, there were also shows they combined both Russian dubbing and overall info read aloud in...
Polish is the best. The autotune doesn't sound like the singer is having a mentalbreakdown or is cackling or something
German is the best!
English, Polish and German top!
English feels like it's inspired by Eiffel 65's Blue.
The english and the german intros are the best :)
Mysteria Venezia Winchester THX! :B Yes, they are! Especially because the Show is German! xD ;-) \o/
Yeah. Dutch version sounds like drunk guy...
Haha yes, the dutch version sounds really funny ;)
***** Have you seen this show in german?
Mysteria Venezia Winchester Of course! :D :B Der satanarchäolügenialkohöllische Wunschpunsch Or the Satanarchaeolidealcohellish Notion Potion! XD (try say that really fast!) ;-)
I'll always prefer the german Version because it's one of my childhood's Highlights. Also, nobody managed to make the voice effect sounds as cool. But I really dig the Hebrew version.
I am Korean, and I love this show very much. I watched the show when I came home from school when I was kid. The Korean version of the show used an original intro song.
I've always agreed with Russian dubbers' decision to leave opening song untouched. The song is absolutely awesome as it is. Most of dub examples I heard here don't capture same feeling.
but english isn't the original one.....the originals are german and french(not in this video)

I think I saw 2 episodes of this show. I remember nothing but I will never forget the (English) intro. The team that did that deserve to be paid really well. It is a super brain worm. haven't even thought about it for a decade at least and today it came screaming back to me for some reason which is why I am looking it up now!
i think polish is the best
Poland is greeting you. :3
Dziękuję Bardzo! :) :D
Yes! Polish the best)))
Polska wersja wunshpunsh jest taka dobra ponieważ śpiewa ją gaunter o'dim
the Polish version wunshpunsh is so good because it is sung by gaunter o'dim
My favourite is German but I grew up with the Turkish one so I'm a bit biased but out of the dubs that's the one I love the most.
My childhood
German best
+Mombaa Of course, since that's the original! :D \o/ ;-)
The funny thing is, the german voice only sounds a bit like a robot because they had to edit the 'refrain' because it was too difficult to sing 'satanarchäolügenialkohöllischen Wunschpunsch' :D
Wirklich? ^^ :3 Das wusste ich noch nicht! :D
+NoRyg Bu Stand mal in so 'nem Magzin drin' xD Find die Vorstellung schon iwie geil ;D
Wow
the only good one is the original German
I like the english one too thoug, even as a german.
The German one is the best though...
Crazykiller Studios
The English one could be potentially good, but god, the fucking autotune. They also kept these autotune portions in the actual episodes when the spells are cast, so someone actually thought it sounded good.
I am from Germany, but my favourits are the polish and the Turkey Version.
Such a genius show, everything about it is great.
Great Video ☆
german is best xD
hab sogar noch des Buch zuhause xD
Ich höre momentan das Hörbuch. :D
meh... it looks rushed in the dance scene.. :/
Well, that is because the singer is not focused on the dance part. He is more focused on the explanation of the Wunschpunsch. The german intro is the only one which included the original "satanarchäolügenialkohöllischen" word into it, i think it was to difficult to translate the the full word into other langauages. I like the german intro (because it is the version i grew up with) and because it explains very well how the Wunschpunsch and its story works.
Skullnette it is not. even polish version better the grrman
To me it seems like most of the versions are based of the english version, which I find kind of sad. The original german version sounds best in my opinion.
I'm german, fluent in english and decent at understanding dutch. I noticed that the lyrics of the english version very much differ from the german one, while it sounded like the dutch version used a translation of the english lyrics.
+Xiani Moon Yes! That's what I thought! :-) :3
Really kind of sad, that there are so few Really good German TV Shows/Productions, and when they are, they are treated "not very well" abroad! :3 ö____ö
I love English version :3
Beste Serie :D
Auf jeden! :D
just awesome :D
Willkommen beim Eurovision Song Contest.

+Lewacka Wiewiórka Wow!! :-) Thanks!! Dziekuje!! \o/
That's the kind of fan I love!! :D
+NoRyg Bu No problem man, I usually add such a lyrics if the film contains the compilation of various opening themes (especially when these are from my favourite cartoons I watched when I was young) in many languages with polish language within. This is just 1 minute - to write the text and to press the "add comment" button :p
Another people, Germans, Frenchs and so on also should write down the lyrics. It is simply fun, to try to sing some song in completely diffrent language.
+Lewacka Wiewiórka Tak, That's why I made those videos, because it's fun to see/hear the series you like in another leid! ;-) :D
***** Indeed, it is. Also the comment section sometimes has nice stories about the childhood passed with these cartoons from all the Europe :p
Where are you from?
+Lewacka Wiewiórka I'm German, like this series originally! ;-) :D \o/ :B
Why is the german version as the only one so short?
In der Kürze liegt die Würze
cause time is money, and if you waste my mony we have a problem
German original best❤️
Its not the original
it's one of the worst.
Yeah it feels like the other languages cant keep up simply because the german one puts a big emphasis on playing around with adjectives, making them very swingful aiding the entire melody, plus the narrator fits more the feeling.
In german you basically can strech all those words to the infinite which is trickier in english.
Dutch intro is the best
Een magisch toverdrankje, een heks en tovernaar~

The English version is so different compared to the German version. Which is the original?
+Bronwyn Johnston Yes, alas! :3 As you can read in the other comments! ö__ö
The Show is German in original, that's why German has the best Quality! ^^ :D
I think the english language haven't the word satanarchäolügenialkohöllischer Wunschpunsch :) The german is the best:)
+YasinLP Yes, they haven't !^^ :D In English they called it "Satanarchaeolidealcohellish Notion Potion"!^^ ;-)
But, nonetheless, the word Wunschpunsch was sung in every other leid! ;-) :D \o/
The SHOW is Canadian originally, and recorded in English for a wider-reaching audience. The BOOK is German.
Franco-canadien
Don't you have a Czech version too, please? I'm begging actually.. :'(
but the start of the english one got a gorillaz vibe lel..
Huh, never noticed it, tbh. ^^ But thanks for the info. :)
Were there any other TV cartoons based on Michael Ende books? I'm familiar with:
Wunschpunsch
Jim Button
The Neverending Story (this one sucked)
The never Endung Story is insane as a Book. Bastian Balthasar Bux.
@@MaxiHartlieb Shame we never got a proper adaptation of the 2nd half of the book. They should do a TV-14 animated series or something.
Momo has a cartoon show. I don't know about the languages it exists in, I watched it in German, but I loved it as a child.
The German version is the best 🤷🏼♀️
It's based on a German novel so it's only right that this is the best one
the hebrew one is the best one , not only it has the , in my opinion , better version of the intro but it has rythm and in the dance scene , you wanted to dance :D
Hebrew is my top
What a dancefloor filler
Does anyone know where I can find this in Portuguese?
❤️❤️
Polish opening top
I think the english one sounds.. not good. The german is the best. And Hebrew doen't sound bad. I actually really like that one too.
The rest.. turkey.. is.. I don't know.. weird. And the rest are just robots sining. It shouldn't sound like robots. This is so stupid xD
+LookalikeDemons I think the part, in the german version, were the voice breaks, sounds to the ones that doesn't speak german like some kind of robotic autotune lol that's why they all adapted to it, maybe
ardstsp I don't know. For me the german one does not sound like a robot. Or the others just sound way to much like a robot.
I never thought it sounded like a robot. Maybe it does for many people, even germans. ^^'
LookalikeDemons are you german then? xD
ardstsp Yes.
The russian dub "method" (??) is actually very common for most eastern european countries - they never fully dubbed it, they just lowered the volume and just tried to speak over the main voices. Good thing this was only done with other programs, that weren't only about kid/tv series. The original channels, they didn't touch them... although now its different - everything is dubbed and it sickens me!
Yes! ^^ I noticed that too, on my researching! ;) :) :3
Especially in eastern europe countries! There are so many "dubbed"/over-spoken series there, ...
For me it's actually kind of funny! :3 (even tho not always fully understandable)
Well it's simple WHY they do that - apparently the lockits (as in localization kits) they got don't include the intro without the screen text, so to make any kind of translation they have to resort to speaking over it. Despite that, the cartoons themselves are usually fully dubbed.
Sometimes it's for the better though. The less popular series can get their songs mutilated by lousy translations.
хорошо что английский вариант у нас оставили! only english version was good)
In Russian they just say common informations about the authors, not the song itself
Ich liebe Sebastian Schulz
Hebrew is awsome!
+geo pap Oh, hell Yes!! ^^ :D \o/
i love you
There is a Russian version of the song though. It's different from the original song but I like it more than the original to be honest. Probably because it's my native language and the language I watched the show in as a child.
If you wanna listen to it, I think it's called "Wunschpunsch-formula (Russian)" here on UA-cam
Well, the russian version I indeed forgot, but this is merely the intro. ;) I don't/won't include the formula songs in here, although they're cool too, and an "formula multileid" already exists on youtube. ;) :) :D
But thanks. :D
Hahahaha Die polnische Übersetzung :-D
Some version's volume so low but orginally not, like Turkish.
Also, I found the Ukrainian version and I do like it too.
As a person who speaks English, Russian and Polish (from the languages featured in the video), I reckon English is the best. Second and third place should be divided between Hebrew and Turkish, IMO.
Yeah, same!
ofc Hebrew

No French Version ? Weird because it's a French show originally...
Well, actually, it's a GERMAN Show based upon the book with the same name by Michael Ende. ;) It may be that it was cooperated with France, but the Original version is the German one. ;) :)
Check your information, this series is made by two companies : Saban International Paris, a French branch on Saban Entertainment; and CinéGroupe, a Canadian Company. The book is German but the show is half-French, half-Canadian.
You can check hier : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wunschpunsch
The idea and characters and Backgrounds where designed in Germany (and I think also the Music but I'm not quite sure because I coudn't find anything to the Composer(Michel Dax).I just assume he is German because his Name sounds like it) But the production was made like you said in France and Canada. It's like German-French-Canadian lool =D
My grandma was the canadian realisator of whunschpunsch and here is how the work was divided:
The story was inspired and titled by the german book titled "Der satanarchäolügenialkohöllische Wunschpunsch", the scenario, storyboard, french fubbing and initial drawings were french (from france), the animation was somewhere in Asia, the english dubbing, montage and final cut of the animation was made in Montreal, Canada and finally the music was made in the US in california, so technically original music is in english but the initial show in a whole is a true international work and you can't say it's just from one or two countries but yeah, from all versions the french version is god tier compared to the others lol
The show is not German, even though the book is. it was produced by CineGroupe (Canada) and Saban International Paris (France), and as what Nathan G-T said, a couple of other places as well.
Polish is the best !!!!!

Turkish version is horrible.
Kinda sad that the turkish version is so bad that even I, who grew up with the turkish version, can barely understand the lyrics except for the chorus part. My fav ones are german and english btw. They gave the english one a different tone too. Like it's coming from a radio or something which is pretty cool. The others are meh. Just average. I miss these old cartoons. They had some style. @@dipper5365 german isn't fine. The german singer isn't singing a verse.
The English version theme is better.👍
i wonder how people like the german version ... is the worst xDDD the english and hebrew is the best for me
Fair plays, well the original german version is the only one (i think) where the long word "satanarchäolügenialkohöllische" is used, which explains so very well on what the "Wunschpunsch" is.
And i like it that the Refain in the german Version explains the story on how Marizius and Jakob work to prevent the full power of the Wunschpunsch. The other Versions of the Song only sing (more or less) just Wunschpunsch in the Refain with autotunes.
But i still havent found the singer who sang the original german Version. Somehow his voice seems familiar.
P.S: I like all Versions of the intro.
