- Here is a complete walkthrough from start to finish of upgrading your SYNC 2 system to Navigation.
I have edited and sped up parts of the video footage during the updates, in real time it took around 40 mins.
I didn't want to edit out anything so you could all see it as a complete uninterrupted walkthrough and see each step.

I followed your video and it worked on a 2016 f350. I tried following a couple other videos but yours is hands down the best and I actually got navigation to work thanks to you!

Just activated navigation by following your video and it worked :). Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and publishing this video. I bought pre-owned vehicle and dealer told that vehicle never had navigation hence it would be expansive to have this feature. I was able to do it very easily and economically through this procedure. Thank you once again.

i bought the package deal from MAS AUDIO and i must say it was a pleasure doing business with them, I'm not very technical and I had a couple of issues that they were able to assist me with in my opinion it was well worth the money and they were on hand to help me every step of the way. I have done everything on the video. It asking the sd card but when i but it in nothing happeen. Do you know were is the problem?
Best video out there. I need some guidance. After all the procedures were completed on my car (13 Ford Explorer), the navigation version didn't load, but the top right corner says, "insert NAV SD card." I reset several times but no luck.
Thanks for the video, I was about to spend $800 on eBay for a navigation radio unit from the wrecking yard. But it seems they can all show Navigation with a program update, software change, and the map SD card inserted.
I suspected this was the case with the SD chip map reader already in the glove box. Ford doesn't include extra parts that are completely useless, so it CAN be updated for navigation with the right OBD tools.

I'm just about to do this to my 2016 Ford Kuga,my system is showing the 3.08 version, so the 2 update files you have at the start of the video updating to 3.10 where did you get the 2 update files from? Many thanks for the great video!

Hey Luke. I have 3.10 as well but have a message that says “insert nav sd” I’m using an A7 card. I might but another but want to ask what card your using first. Thanks

Will this work if I use all the same steps but with FORScan Lite for IOS (MacBook)?

For anyone using this in a Lincoln, the the code will be 800B. The 8 means Lincoln and the second 0 is the configuration for normal or navigation. So you will need to change it to 840B.
If I have a new version build (4.XX) and not the 3.08, do I need to downgrade to the 3.08? Thanks
Already have 3.10 Sync 2 installed. Do I need to reload it or just do the Forscan update and the navipatch update?

Hello! I have done everything in order, i had 3,10 on my c-max 2015 already installed, i changed that one number in forscan and then the letters on the top changed to navigation. I have installed the png patch and applyed it, it said navigation on. Then i have reseted sync and after it loaded i put the F10 europe navigation in sd slot. It says insert navigation card and that is it, nothing is loading. Card is not faulty, i have tried to put it in friend's focus 2015 and it is working flawlessly. Do you have any idea what i am doing wrong? I dont understand..thank you
Hi just waiting for the elm 27 I'm already on the 3.10 software. Can l put the navipatch and the navigation downloads in or do they have to be done in the same sequence as you did. Thanks Shaun.

i ve done the same steps but i got stucked at the navigation sd card error. it did not turned to navigation it still says insert nav sd card. and i cant see the navigation version on the help system information menu.

It's the 14073 part that is the version.. your version is actually older than both 3.08..... and 3.10........ so yes you are fine.
Hi I got the same version 4.32 14073 log in my ford owned with a vin number it’s says your software is up to date , I tried the you tube links but my car sync didn’t read my USB any reason why ? Can you send me U.K. sync update please
Has the Sync 2 (66 Focus ST3) got a built in GPS antenna or will this be required to be purchased separately?

Where did you download the information from? Software 3.10 and images necessary for this?
The information I learnt myself, with the help of forums and searches, the software is not available for download as far as I know.. as I searched many broken links previously, the original supplier of the software I have, passed it onto me, in return for a favour, but I was told not to re-distribute it so I cannot help you with that. It is only available from me as part of an install service I can provide. Thanks, Mark.

Hi, Do I need to get, buy any licence (Ford forums say you need a licence and I'm confused) to enable Nav on sync 2 or is it just installing the software downloads as per your video?
Hi, the forscan software needs the extended licence to access the APIM fuctions and its free on the forum, or you can buy a longer license if you wish for a few pounds.
I just got my 2013 FLEX and was wondering if I should update from 4.30.13171_PRODUCT to 3.10 1st then do the patch or update to 3.8 then patch.
Looks like 3.10 then patch works just the same, awesome.

I’ve just installed it using this video as guidance! Really good video. The only issue I’m having is when it asks me to insert SD card I plug mine in and it doesn’t acknowledge it or anything and still asks for SD card. Is that a fault with the one I’ve bought off EBay?
Yes probably a faulty copy.. a lot of people are getting cards of Ebay and they are blank too..

Hello, as far as I'm aware, all sync2 systems are the same, just different regions. So it should work for you no problem.

Secondly i was wondering if i can change the voice command from an american accent to an English accent as it now refers 'mobile' as a 'cell'. Mild inconvenience but would be good to know. Cheers 👍

Hi yes it can, it will work on all sync2 units.
A little late to the show. What if you version is 4.12.. not 3.08?
I went thru this from another video source and missed the patch unlock feature....paid more attention this morning....simple quick fix.....using older A5 card until purchase new A11.

It's sync update installation software from the ford or lincoln website. You'll need to register an account with them and use your vin number for the update software

Hi, my wife has a 2015 Ford Focus Titanium and her sync2 let's us know when we're near speed cameras ,she has a card number 7 ,I have a 2016 Ford Ranger Wildtrak with sync2 but mine don't notify me of speed cameras, I have number 5 card ,I have tried swapping cards ,would you know why ? Been to my Ford garage and emailed Ford but they are all Muppets and have no clue ,help please
Hello, there is a setting in the menu to turn this feature on and off, try this.. Select Navigation - then Menu - Navigation Settings - Navigation Preferences - Hazard Notification. You can then choose to switch it on or off, have a visual only warning to display an exclamation mark in a triangle on the map or visual and audible which gives the triangle on the map and the one word audible warning "Caution" as you approach. Hi I have 2012 Ford Focus. My Sync module apim was broken and I got used one from same car same year . But the used one doesn’t have backup camera navigation and auto park. So if I update sync software which car vin number I should use to download the file. My own car or used apim- car vin number?
Hi, it doesn't matter because the software is all the same for whichever region you are in, those features will only work again if they are coded into the as built format. Thanks, Mark.
