The way mom ran to him as soon as the gates were opened. My heart melted.
😭❤😭❤
Yes, I melted too.
That photo at :23 is absolutely stunning. That's when my waterworks started.
That would have been awesome if it was a stuffed doll full of angry bees and covered in poison ivy
@@JohnPMitten really? Can I have your tv?
She looks so happy with that baby in her arms so cute
How would you know?
Just amazing. You can see the Mama desperate to get to her before she can even see her. So much love. They’re the most amazing and beautiful creatures. Such love and understanding in their dark eyes.
Precious mum and baby lovely to see x
You are so full of 💩
The baby is a he
Mommy couldn't get to Baby fast enough 🥰 That pic of Baby laying on her is soooo sweet 😍 Save the Orangatans 🙏😇💙🙏😇💙
Oh, is so sweet, cute and lovely. The Love to the Baby is great, beautiful.
She couldn’t get to her baby fast enough! ❤️❤️🥰😘
God, please save the apes! Protect them from the harm we humans inflict on them. Thank you, God.
@Jabari Safari Your comment needs lots of revision. Learn to communicate using arguments based on facts. The fact is humans have decimated the orangutan's habitat to the point of near extinction.
We need corporations to take sustainable palm oil very seriously then. It's not up to god, it's up to us. Read ingredients on your food. Learn the ways 'palm oil' is hidden in ingredient labels. Learn about the industry as well as sustainable palm oil options... divest from companies like Kelloggs, Nestle, Ikea, PepsiCo and makeup companies that are repeat offenders of rainforest deforestation and not upholding their promises on sustainable palm oil. This means leaving behind many of our favourite processed foods or bodycare products. We need to make the choice... they are disappearing at an alarming rate.
@@zolawilliams1 That's what I do. But so many products contain palm oil that I feel it's a lost battle since most people don't pay attention to ingredients to avoid for humanitarian reasons.
God will not listen to you for you are arrogant and conceited
Omg what a sweet little face!!
Mommy saw the most beautiful baby in the world (in her eyes).
Definatley sweetness.
What a beautiful sight!! I adore Orangutans and infant orangutans are especially cute!!! Although it would have been even better if they weren't in a concrete home but in the wild!
I can't imagine what she was going through those days they were separated she probably thought she'd never see her little one again
Makes me think of all the poor orangutan mothers who get their baby stolen in the wild animal pet trade, how horrifying it must be though usually the mother is murdered.
They weren't really separated. She could see and touch him whenever she wanted! Here's more info: www.memphiszoo.org/blog/posts/endangered-sumatran-orangutan-born-at-the-memphis-zoo-
@@madisonmorris7810I don’t think that’s completely accurate. The link doesn’t work now but when staff are caring for an infant they have to do so 24/7. They can place them with trusted members of their species for certain brief periods or longer if there’s a gate or window separating baby and human from the other animal(s.) But they wouldn’t be able to allow the orangutan “anytime “ access to the baby because they’d also have access to the human which would be against safety policies. I’m guessing the mom could go near enough to where he was being cared for to see him anytime and maybe stick her hands or fingers through a gate but even that might well be too risky in case the mom accidentally harmed the baby in her desperation to hold him close or something along those lines. I definitely don’t think she could actually hold her baby while under staff care until the day the events captured on video happened. It’s understandable how much more it means to be able to hold someone in your arms versus only being able to stroke a cheek with your finger or something like that.
The baby looks like the Grinch That Stole Christmas
😁 he really does.
I know how funny is that!
Omg so true !!! Super cute though
He definitely does
These apes are so lovable it’s almost otherworldly. They are so like us but have superpowers which are so difficult to ignore! Wonderful lovely cousins which are so easy to love!
Humbling & simply Heavenly...
It's a baby grinch!!! How adorable!
Something so positive in the whole day.
Just beautiful
The speed in which she got to him.💜.then the speed in picking him up 💜.. from her line of sight.. how did she even see him? 💜 Heart melting 💜
I didn’t even see him right away the 1st time I watched!!!
Probably could smell him before seeing him
@@davidmellish3295 yes! That's so heart warming, she could smell her baby before she could see him!
Mom watched as the zoo staff put her baby into the enclosure. Then they opened the door for her.
@@2degucitas Clever girl.🏆
Beautiful, just beautiful.
They are both smiling at the end! 💖
He's beautiful!
That last still frame she is so relieved and happy to have her baby. And baby also looks pleased.
cute name choice!! the mother's name jahe in bahasa indonesia means ginger which is appropriate for orangutans hair/fur color 💘
How awesome is this, she is a wonderful mother and when she went for the baby and grabbed her I cried a little. The bond between these mothers and babies are unbelievable.
Such a sweet reunion. Mama is so proud of her baby. ♥️♥️♥️
Oooh. Like humans. They are so wonderful. So loving. Made my eyes water❤️👏❤️🇺🇸🙏❤️❤️❤️
So beautiful!
He's the cutest!
The baby reminds me of the Grinch lol.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS BEAUTIFUL MOMENT WITH US ! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU KEEP UP THIS VERY IMPORTANT WORK EVERY SINGLE ONE COUNTS !
Absolutely love for her baby
the love in the mama's eyes when she goes straight to her baby brought tears too my eyes. .its sad they are in a zoo but its sadder to hav them out in nature and then they end up chopped up, shot and baby sold as a pet.. sad either way.. wish there was a island where they could liv in peace and hav armed guards to protect them...COME ON BILL GATES, u can do it.
Stephanie Washington lmao 😂😫
Why keep armed guards if you can teach them to use firearms
@@pomponi0 good point
Stephanie Washington: Fully agree
Best idea to protect these poor creatures..
So adorable ,,exspecialy baby!
This makes me happy
That is precious
Warmth or scent? Everyone (except ODN it seems) knows that putting babies on the head feels nice.
I thought it might've just been because she was a new mom and wanted to try out if the baby liked it on her head?
lol
or maybe her belly was hurting too much to keep him on it. I've had a C-section, I think I can understand
@@NikkieRoxxx sounds the most logic
it didn't last long though. within a week I could put him on my belly/ against my belly when I was sitting. The immense joy of finally being a mom after being married for more than 12 years helped agianst the pain i guess :)
0:58 That mommy-baby oxytocin high 🤗
He looks like a brown grinch. He’s So cute
Awe! So sweet!
So sweet and beautiful
He’s beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Adorable!

0:18 Pulitzer prize worthy photo there!
They are so sweet!
00:58 Straight up looks like a photo from one of those “new baby photo shoots” human families like to do but with an Orangutan fam
This brings tears to my eyes.
What a happy momma!
Edit: I've literally just been watching and rewinding and watching again and again!

She ran in so happy for her
Handsome little man 😊
What a beautiful loving mother. They look very different from other orangutans that I've seen, but still quite amazing!!💕💞
terry ford There are two species of orangutan, Bornean and Sumatran. Also, the males have large, fleshy “plates” on their cheeks.
I love how they are looking at camera that looks like they are playing such a precious moment

So how did the mothers milk come in if the baby couldn't go back to mom for 12days? Wouldn't it have dried up by that time? Such an adorable little grinch!!!!!!
Now I'm curious how long is there gestation period for? So glad there both happy now.
That's a handsome boy.

Very good mummy to hold you Bless you all good looking baby thank you for update .
Okay it's been four years, so what is the cute little bugger's name?
Rowan!
@@madisonmorris7810 thank you! 💜
Why do they wait 12 days after the c-section to reunite them?!
But then again, that was the norm for humans also, not so long ago...
I truly believe Orangutans are better mothers...
Briditte Bargeot ...I was thinking the same thing, in a few cases that I can think of. But I'm pretty sure they keep them separated so long, waiting for the mom to recover. They may even keep mom sedated for quite awhile so she doesn't pick at the stitches ...or actually, she might start frantically looking for the baby. ( I'll have to look that up..lol )...but Orangutans understand pregnancy more than any animal that I've heard of.
Exactly, as intelligent as these animals may be it's still risky to put them through serious surgery since you can't communicate with them how to respond to everything. It's a much longer recovery process for animals than it is humans.
bestieswithtesties ....after I watched this, I was skipping around., looking at different videos....They are amazing. ... in captivity or even out in the wild without human influence ...they are so sweat to each other and so smart
Sounds like mother or maybe babt had complications and she was not able to care for the baby.
