This one is all about perspective! Good on Wise though for doing several different things here, all at the same time. The case is sooooooo smooooooth, it really is lovely to touch. Cheers, Jody
Yes he's finally covering wise!!! One of the most underrated microbrands
I look at it as a watch to wear for fancy gatherings/weddings/thai traditional dress accroutement. The watch fits into Thai/South East Asian traditional menswear aesthetics.
Awesome dial,. It reminds me of a parquet floor.
Boom! Sure does.
And chequer plate
For me it also gives off the impression of brocade fabric, albeit a very geometric interpretation
I am so happy the Wise is getting their time in the sun. Absolutely love my bronze Wise.
Sounds like a golden opportunity for them.
I'll show myself out.
Way too much sun if you actually live here haha (I live in thailand). so happy Wise is getting international coverage. they actually slightly cheaper here.
That dial... That damn dial...
It reminds me a wallpaper from and old '70s house. And I like it!
The gold tone is absolutely marvellous.
It's gold FILLED not solid gold. So the gold in the dial is probably only worth $5-10. Otherwise, if it was solid gold it'd be worth a few hundred $. Still beautiful. Just know that it's gold filled, not solid gold. God bless
@@jimfiore4671Sorry not sure if you've mentioned it anywhere, are you saying it's gold filled?
@yjmrules Yes, it even says so on the dial.
@jimfiore4671 The spot price for gold is $2,082/oz. I'm going to guess that it is more than just $5-$10 worth of gold, assuming it is more of an inlay vs an electroplated process.
It's definitely much more expensive than 5-10 bucks LOL
Mine arrived inthe UK last week. Gorgeous looker and great straps. I am pleased with the watch and the price.
Did you have to pay any customs charges? I’m also in the U.K. and thinking of getting one

@@amroadshow Thanks for that, it’s appreciated 👍
When I see WISE as a brand I automatically think of the potato chip company. Am I the only one?
When I see WISE, i automatically think of Wise,.Transferwise.
Yes.
100%. I get it it.
Nope. Same here.
Not me
Dial pattern reminds me of the wallpaper in our first house in Ayr.
It’s a gorgeous watch. I think it’s a good value for what you get. A little too blingy for me, but their Hitman Series is on a short list of future purchases for me. Thanks for the great review!
Surely I can't be the only one thinking about Austin Powers Gold Member watching this 😂
It's a good looking watch. But It's's having a bit of an identity crisis : boring leather strap and pedestrian movement mixing it up with lovely gold colored dial and Rolex quality case.
Remember, it’s gold filled so it’s a layer of gold around the base metal. It’s not a solid gold dial. Still offers the brilliance as far as the look, but not at the same value or weight of an actual 24k gold dial.
That's why you can buy it for 720$
Tissot has a similar watch with a solid (not GF) bezel thats about or just under a grand on Jomashop. I'd go that route. . . And I did.
And you got not as well finished watch and the lowest grade Swiss movement. Congrats. Lol
@@justinbowe38 for a very small fraction of the price. It's a great watch.
It's so lovely that if I owned a suit I'd want one. :)
I pre-ordered one last year. Excellent service all round. One of my favourite watches. I disagree about the plain font for the name. It's a considered choice on a highly intricate background. As for the name Wise, it's no worse than a nonsense word, like Roleks.
Absolutely beautiful case, the size, side profile, thin and wow.
According to their reservation sheet, they have actually sold over 400.
It's a very nice watch. What you get for the money is very impressive.
Well, that's better than 165, but still unlikely to sell out by Friday 🤣
@@JustOneMoreWatch Yes, that probably still holds true. 😅
It's gold FILLED not solid gold. So the gold in the dial is probably only worth $5-10. Otherwise, if it was solid gold it'd be worth a few hundred $. Still beautiful. Just know that it's gold filled, not solid gold. God bless
Dials are still pretty thin, and honestly gold filled is great, they couldve gotten away with plating which requires even less gold@@jimfiore4671

That's an absolute stunner. Definitely a dress watch so I wouldn't be worried about the water resistance. Bracelet would be nice, but it does look great on the straps. If I had the money, I'd have this watch. Gorgeous.
Wow… that’s just a super nice looking watch… especially with the brown leather… 👍😊💥
I agree with the logo on the dial. Would have been a nice signature (like a crown someone uses) rather than the font.
Not one for me as I don’t like gold watches, BUT this seems like one of the few microbrands offering great value👏🏻
More Wise content! I’ve an Adamascus AD8 and it gets the most wrist time of any of the watches in my collection.
Love Wise's case shapes... the material limits choices of straps as I love to match the hardware with the case. If I needed a dress watch - this one would easily be shortlisted. Beautiful.
Not in my budget at the moment, but I’d it was I’d get it in a heartbeat.
I live in Thailand and Wise have been coming up on my FB page for a while now. They do some great watches at some very good prices and I'm about to pull the trigger on one from the Hitman range.
I’m Thai and just got a Hitman with the Thai numerals. Very nice watch, will go for the full lume Adamascus next.
More than decent effort. I like it. For a great two tone, you definitely need to see the Oris two tone Aquis
I dont really get the comparison to Rolex cases other than the material. Rsther the case (and to some extent the indices, which are also a little Giorgio Galli) seem to be quite indebted to Grand Seiko. The great thing is, this is very obviously neither GS nor Rolex, but entirely its own far more affordable thing. Yes, the Miyota 9000 at this price is the best, but I regularly see far worse value propositions from much higher rated brands. I do agree that if there was an occasion to fly the ornate logo instead of the brand name on one of their watches, especially in applied form, this would have been it. I missed opportunity in my view. I also tried to reason with them that placing 24k gold on the dial is really quite unnecessary. Then, later on, I realised micro darling Laventure did oretty much the same and more prominently (althoufh perhaps theirs was solid gold?). Gold filled dial that doesn't wear down, makes a lot of frugal sense. You get to enjoy the material without it slowly disappearing from your watch.
I think this is an absolute bargain. Wise make beautiful watches and this may be the most beautiful. Amazing watch, I love it. Cheers!
It's gold FILLED not solid gold. So the gold in the dial is probably only worth $5-10. Otherwise, if it was solid gold it'd be worth a few hundred $. Still beautiful. Just know that it's gold filled, not solid gold. God bless
@@jimfiore4671I don't think people think this is a bargain because of the gold content.
@@benjaminvis It sounds like it. And it sounds like people aren't hearing the "filled" part of the gold. It also seems like most people don't really know the difference either.
@@jimfiore4671 It's a bargain compared to Grand Seiko with its finishing and complex dial texture. You won't be getting anything similar from Seiko at that price spec-wise.
@@jimfiore4671 the different gold applications are a bit obtuse. From pvd to plating, vermeil, or filling. Filling should lead to a percentage (20%?) of gold in the element concerned, which is usually a lot more than plating, but can still be a relatively small amount of gold overall. I guess the filling was needed in order for the texture to work, but I don't know that for sure. It is also worth noting that 24k is considerably more than gold alloys typically used. Ultimately I think the value in this watch derives from the design and care in construction and this is what most appreciate, not the exact price of the amount of gold involved.
Would be nice on a bracelet band.
this is STUNNING !!!
should have been 36mm and I would have bought it !
I like Wise though haven't purchased one yet. This may be the first...though I'd prefer this one in 36mm or 37 maybe (I think they claim 38mm).
It's gold FILLED not solid gold. So the gold in the dial is probably only worth $5-10. Otherwise, if it was solid gold it'd be worth a few hundred $. Still beautiful. Just know that it's gold filled, not solid gold. God bless
At that price, the watch has to be perfect. I agree 100% with J's comments!
Too small for me...
Put this on an Oyster bracelet.
With on the fly adjustable clasp.
Instant winner👍👍👍
Honestly, for a gold watch such as this one, it's basically a piece of accessory. So people should judge it for what it is rather than worrying about the spec of the movement.
Even though this sort of thing is not my cup of tea, I can still say that this is one stunning looking watch - and for an amazing price, given the spec-sheet and apparent level of finishing.
Slightly OT: I never quite got why folks were so into the whole 904 vs 316 thing. AFAIK, 904 is only like 50 bucks per *ton* more expensive than 316 and, as Jody pointed out, it isn't really "superior" to 316. I feel like it's more like another Rolex-created gimmick to give their watches more USPs than they really have. Maybe it's just me, but on the handful of 904 sports watches that I've seen (including a couple of Submariners), I couldn't spot any obvious differences to ones made from 316. Perhaps this is just exploitation of human psychology ... I mean: 904 is a higher number than 316 ... :P
I'm going to buy a Wise and have been trying to decide between that ad8 with gold highlights or that green bronze, now you throw this in, damn you!
Shame they didn't size the rear window to hide the plastic movement ring.
It has case clamps, they wouldn't have a plastic movement ring with case clamps going through it. It's probably a gasket for the rear glass or an optical illusion.
Tissot Gentleman $1100 on grey market has a 18k gold
Throw in an “in house movement” and this watch goes up to 5-8k at least. Wise is absolute quality!!! 904L perfect polishing/finishing Wise and Zelos pack so much value into their watches.
Honestly, if it was $650-700 with a NH35 or $850-900 with a SW200 or ETA I'd be more interested. It's a really cool watch, but I'm just not interested in paying nearly $800 for a Miyota.
fancy AliExpress sounding name brand. looks great but with that name, ehhhh it's a hard buy for me.
I have to admit this watch is really cool and very well priced. This brand has serious potential.
Just goes to show how important photography and videography is for watches. The website images look so washed out compared to these gorgeous macros and outdoor lighting.
Jody is the only reviewer that mentioned the advantage and disadvantages of 904 on this wise watch review. The other one's that I've watched glossed over it with flowery words for 904 steel. Guess they want more free wise watch sent to them
The WISE 'W' symbol should be above the main pinon and the existing text below. Keep the box and knock $100 off the price of the watch.
WARNING: Ordered a Wise watch last September. Still NOT arrived. Last I heard they said they were waiting for bracelets ???
How durable is the case though? If i wear this alot how much sceatching ahould i expect compared to 316l? Beautiful watch, top to bottom.
Its dress watch, you ain't suppose to use it for outdoor activities. Although, I do find my dress watch enemy is door frame,my wrist always find way to bump on door frame.
@JustOneMoreWatch I hope you review soon the Wise Asura with the red dial! Looks stunning in photos!
I was thinking this competes with the Seiko Lark in terms of its look and style but is a much more affordable watch and it has a bit more pizazz to it. Great to see a Thai company dling such a good job.
I’m sorry, if I want a sports watch that thinks it’s a dress watch I’ll pull out my two tone Duro with a matching two tone Miltat bracelet and save $650. Good review Jody.
I'm looking forward to their GMT Adamascus be interesting to see some reviews from a Western UA-camr
It's nice. I'm not really into gold but this is understated enough to be attractive. 37.5mm might make it look more like a ladies watch on my 8.1" wrist but for normal sized people this will look very good.
Ehhh no. The “24k Gold Filled” and the horrible branding on the dial spoil what otherwise would be a lovely watch. They’re not quite sure how to do sophisticated. And not a Miota. Yeesh.
Have had my eye on some of Wise's less gold and more beautiful models, but good god, the brand name and logo leave a lot to be desired. Perhaps it works in the domestic market, but I feel it's hitting a brick wall internationally. I'd put my subjective snobbery aside were it not for the price. Such a shame.
not the Wise for me, but it is gorgeous
Nice!
Hopefully they’ll make more different dial colors in the future.
I think Wise should go for a rebranding. That logo and typography should change on these watches, they look lazy and off.
A beautiful watch would love one of these. Only I would have liked the hand to be a darker colour to make seeing them easier. Also as you say a little better water proof
i was recently in Phuket and i showed this watch (from its webpage) to my Thai friends (watch enthusiasts), they are suprised that they never heard of the brand with its wide catalogue…😅..
Just been notified that mine is on the way😎
It's gold FILLED not solid gold. So the gold in the dial is probably only worth $5-10. Otherwise, if it was solid gold it'd be worth a few hundred $. Still beautiful. Just know that it's gold filled, not solid gold. God bless
@@jimfiore4671 DUH! I think we all worked that out ourselves, Personally I dislike Gold watches but this one satisfies my itch for a "Bling" watch and being limited adds to the attraction 😁
@@jimfiore4671stop spamming you idiot
What a nice looking watch,I have noticed Wise for a while,as I am moving to Thailand 🇹🇭 next year I think I will be a bit patriotic and buy one of there watches.
Why didn't they screw it up with a date window like so many other brands do to dress watches. I like it. Clean with class. Priced ok too. Im wearing a gold filled watch now it is an old Hamilton Grover. Feels good but the face oxidizes with little specs all of them do that. You can get a really nice one for $250 - $400.
I so love Wise! This watch will put any Seiko or Citizen under $1000 to shame.
Not my style but a great watch to wear to a wedding or other formal occasion. Not keen on the strap but a lovely dial. Im getting oriental vibes. That fancy W would look the business as a dial logo. A brand for me to watch.
Yeah twice the amount of nickel, good luck with the allergies 🤷♂️
This doesnt look like a sports watch to me at all. It could be an everyday watch for people who dress more formally every day, like working in office. Probably the best option on the market for people who are into this kind of estetics
eh..., it's no different than something special off of ali express and for that it needs to be cheaper i'd say about $300 plus the amount for the cost of the gold. that's how much it should cost
Nice looking watch, the issue it's gonna have in Australia Is GST
This is weird, and the comments are weird too. I love Jody but this feels AI generated. This canot be for real.
I dislike gold watches. But that Wise is very nice.
Such an easy watch to wear, so comfortable, if not very legible!
Glad micros are playing with gold now. Micros getting better and better.
I love wise’s watches but when is that pitzmann chrono review coming out?!?
Couple of weeks? Been wearing it a lot this week. Few more moans and niggles, but very solid overall.
you can buy vintage solid gold dress watches for this price. Although I totally agree that this watch is a stunner.
The lack of any detail finishing on the case means this just fails to convince me. A brand to watch tho 4sure.
I love this thing. Every time I see it, I wish I had an occasion to wear something so dressy.
Reminds me of an argyle sweater. Meh. You need to do the Wise hitman vs. The Cuda lume fight!
Really cool one, love the dial / hands / indices! I bracelet would have been a great addition too
Nice review of a nice watch Jody 😃 but to be honest it would bug me to try to know the time between the 25 minutes markers to 35 minutes markers.
I would want a more budget friendly watch with the same dimensions.
Nice looking watch, brand naming is a bit unfortunate like a lot of asian-english named brands
That is a dress watch and that is why they didn't offer a bracelet. Dress watches look way better on leather. Nice watch for a nice price.
Um... It's not a solid gold dial. It's gold filled. Gold filled is MUCH cheaper. You really should specify that part. Your NOT getting a gold/solid 24k gold dial. It's a 24k gold filled dial which is FAR closer to a gold plated. It's still beautiful though. I love it. I just want to make sure you and the viewers know that specification.if it was solid 24k gold than the dial ALONE would be worth a few hundred $ at least. But being gold FILLED it's probably only about $5-10 worth of gold. Beautiful watch, thanks for the video. God bless
He says that it is filled at the beginning.
Watch the video
Nobody said it's solid gold😂
Yeah I thought it was too good to be true - solid gold dial below 1k USD. Thanks for letting us know.
@@m39fan Ya, but the title and the way he says it and portrays it, it's as though it's solid gold. If you read some of these other comments it's sounds as though they think it's solid...
Always believe in your soul. You’ve got the power to know.
The dial is actually gold filled. Still, it's very beautiful.
put that on a harris tweed with maybe a few gold threads running through it for a much more every day affair
While it is a gorgeous dial, it’s a watch I can only see someone my grandfather’s age wearing
Like me grin if your grand dad is in his 70's
@@robertlittlehawk7713unfortunately my grandpa has passed almost a decade ago but I could very much see him wearing this. Nothing wrong with that obviously, cause it is a nice piece. But honestly, the look is a bit dated to me.
@@robertlittlehawk7713and it very well could be the brown leather band, that itself is a very old folks kind of style
@Elduderino9097 agreed I likevthem but perfer a bracelet

Ni loco pago 700 dólares por una micromarca que no tiene poder de reventa por más que tenga oro y el moro
I like the dial, but they should have used black hands I just can't bear a hand that gets lost like that.
That's a beaut. I'd better start saving my pennies.
This is an amazing looking watch.
Beautiful piece for a few hundred shillings
As others have said, gold 'filled' i.e plated, means a few microns of gold. Think the jack of your headphone cable...
No, you're confused with plated gold. Filled is MUCH thicker
Qualifies as a retirement present for the manager of a local bank.
Gosh, I think that thing is gorgeous and I don't even like gold.
"Gold filled" is gold plated. Plating could be very thin, not much gold. Movement wholesale cost probably $50. $10 strap. Hmmm... Nice box.
You're an idi ot lol. Filled is 100x thicker than plated!
Mmmmm, I dunno about the 904L steel? It has almost 3 times the nickel. And we all know nickel is carcinogenic. Hence the warning on products containing nickel mandated in California. Plus I like to have the date on a watch, preferably at 6 please.
Don’t forget that buy one from the UK and you have to add on 20% tax…so now a c $900 watch…is it really that good? At that price there is now a lot of far better watches to choose from either new or second hand
Show me a 904 steel watch with real 24kt gold infused on the dial under a grand.
Why are the other "Dress" watches in the lineup 39 mm shamee
