It is the same sahelian culture. I felt a lot of similarities when I went to Eritrea, I told my Eritrean friends that we have a lot in common. My theory is that the environment shapes cultures and the sahelian band runs from western africa to the horn.
I know you made this comment a while ago, but I have to agree with you on that. If you listen to Hausa music from Northern Nigeria and Ghana it sounds even more similar to music from the horn of Africa.
The fact is there is no tribal fight in Mali or most of Africa so YOUR africans might come from wacked out places but most of us live in peace. I would luv to appreciate the music in silence if only you would spare us your inanities.

U can't even differentiate between sectarian and tribal conflicts. Eastern europeans hate each other (russians, georgian, ossetians, bosnia, corsica ...) does that make Europe a land of haters or the musically inept? People get gunned down on US streets every time I blink, does that make the US as a war zone or a wasteland for music? I am starting to wonder about your ability to comprehend a complex world. Maybe dats explains your overgeneralizations. Give it a rest and just enjoy the music.
