  • Mark continues his quest in New Zealand, but this time, after a Wapiti. On this hunt, Mark was unable to get his firearms import permit in time to take his Gunwerks rifle, so he'd again have to borrow from his guide, Shawn. Elk were first introduced to New Zealand in 1909 when President Roosevelt gifted a herd of 20 animals that were released on the South Island. Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature that New Zealand has to offer.

    How much did you have to pay to shoot that one on a Fenced farm?

    Not called hunting. This is called meat gathering. Ditch the ride, stop paying the safari and go do it for real

    In New Zealand we have a fully wild free range wapiti herd known as the Fiordland wapiti herd. And they have produced some of the most impressive animals throughout their history. And in order to hunt them you have to enter a ballot or like a lottery for Americans and if your lucky enough you can hunt them.

      youd never see monsters like this in Fiordland. are these stags farmed ? they all look unbelievably big.

      @@gregwells8764 yes they come from safari parks and have the American genes in them that is why they are so big.

    You definitely can’t call that real hunting. I believe it’s called arm chair hunting. Pay the bucks to the farm and they deliver the animal without the hunter having to even walk anywhere. What’s the world come to?

    Wapitis have a tendancy to not get too scratched when being smashed in the side by a 300 WM

    My partner and I are learning how to hunt because the bio industry is despicable, so I am glad to get more information out of videos.
    But could you please inform me, what makes one want to pose with a dead animal and eager to share said pictures??
    I just can't wrap my head around that.

    • @MarkVPeterson
      @MarkVPeterson  4 місяці тому +1

      Good for you on getting introduced to hunting. When you are successful with a harvest, it is a huge accomplishment to celebrate with a photo that will last forever to look back on while also paying respect to the animal.

    • @CEToorn

      @MarkVPeterson Thank you for your response and information!
      Seeing people posing with a dead animal gives me an unhinged feeling, like it is fun to kill an animal, but now I understand a bit more why people would, thanks!
      I guess I would take pictures of the harvest one gains from the animal, so it becomes clear why one would kill an animal.
      If that would be more or less gruesome, I don't know, but it would feel more right to me, I think.

    Your account name is very misleading, this is as far from hunting as you get. Do you think this was common practice when hunting was actually relied upon to sustain life?

    Wapiti is a first nations people name for elk. Elk is a Northern European name for moose. Just saying………

    when you see an animal that has a head that looks like a cauliflower you know it is a canned hunt on a farm and the person shooting it is not a real hunter because if he was he would be out in the real country like everyone else.

  • @ozthekiwihomekillguy
    @ozthekiwihomekillguy 4 місяці тому

    If you pay for an animal on a farm like this you have no right to call yourself a hunter. You are simply a purchaser of goods.
    "Elk were first introduced to New Zealand in 1909 when President Roosevelt gifted a herd of 20 animals that were released on the South Island. Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature that New Zealand has to offer."
    These two statements have nothing to do with what you are doing.
    One: you are on a farm that either breeds them or buys them in for you to shoot.
    Two: You are on a farm and you do not see the beauty of nature that this country has to offer.
    You can never call this "hunting".

      @@Klein_head I have to take issue with you there
      First it’s on a farm fenced in with a price on its head its a farm animal and not feral
      Second DONT confuse this with hunting
