I had my first ever clutch hatch yesterday out of seven eggs only two made it😔 broke my heart, kinda discouraged me but i saw my two surviors and knew i dont want to give up i love these animals and i want to be successful in this hobby. Im going to be better for the babies next go round i promise that💪🏿🇺🇸

This is my first year breeding. I have 12 bps in total. 4 adult females, 2 adult males, and 6 babies that I’m growing up. I’m pairing pewter x normal, pewter x od vanilla, pewter x black pastel enchi, and ghi Mojave x YB. Keep producing great content!
For a little part of that it was great parenting advice about taking the chill pill and letting it happen
Heavy on the chill pill, it took me 2 and a half years to get a lock and FINALLY we back here to brush up on some tips lol

This is my first year breeding, I've paired 3 so far. Banana x Mojave, Banana x Spinner and female Pastel Lesser Leopard to a male OD Mojave Leopard enchi calico pos het pied and pos het clown. I can't wait for the first eggs to drop. You have taught me so much, and I can't thank you guys enough.

I've got 11 ball pythons and this is our first year pairing. Only two females big enough, 1 super russo female and the other is double het albino pied. The Russo has never bred and we paired with a banana this year because our bamboo male is too tiny. The double het is proven and has had both in a clutch before, so we put our het pied male with her to prove him out. He's only 650g and doesn't seem to know how to do his job yet, but we are holding in hope he will figure it out 🤣

Throw a shed from a different male in with the double het when you put the little het pied in there. Often helps.
@@OlympusReptiles tried it, no luck. We're hoping this giant winter storm that's coming tomorrow will Kickstart the lil fella. He locked once, and we caught him, but he won't do it again or he's just insanely fast 🤣

I find all my snakes lock for at least 24 hrs. A few that go 48 +
I have 7 but have never tried to breed so I am inexperienced. But I was given a large female that I believe is possibly gravid. She is very swollen and also getting ready to shed. Also not interested in food.

I just paired my 1.1 in late June and they have locked that I’ve seen 7 times now my boy takes food breaks but not for long but he hasn’t locked since August 8th and my girl definitely building but she still eats and I’ve seen her do the tail wagging not him lol
I just put my bamboo, leopard fire pastel blue eye ball, python with my roommates, pastel female wish us luck, and I just put my mahogany female with my Enchy ball python

It is coconut. It is reptile prime, but I have been working with it since it was called herptopia. It is a coconut base. We carry it in our store in Manhattan, the also have a direct website I believe.
Or should I try my Bamboo male with my BEL female, since she and the cinnamon lesser won't do anything and everyone else is breeding, in every drawer around them, but today. I noticed they're finally cuddling, so I should just freeze, and wait? Or do I put my already stretched thin, Bamboo male with her, or an Enchi Fire male with her?🤔 decisions, decisions 🤷🏽♀️🤪😂😂
Matt what bedding do you use. I need something different. Also how do you prepare what you use. Does it have to be soaked like the reptibark
I use reptile prime. No need to soak, put in and wet to desired amount
Great video, very helpful, I'm currently breeding my female butter to my male phantom pinstripe,I want to go down the phantom line,my problem is I can't really feel any thing in my female, she's a big girl,in around 3000g and love's her food,I put them together every 3rd Saturday,they have locked everytime,5 times so far and lock up for two days a go,my issue is she's still eating rats,so question is do you think I'll have baby snake's this year, sorry for the long message

would you help me out with this one question my female only wants to flee when I open her tub and she has locked with a male now for three days quick question how soon after they are separated are they offered food? both male and female?
what is your room temperature and what temperature is the basking spot? how do you alter them when you want to trigger follicle building?
Hot spot is right about 90 (ok s or minus one or two from top to bottom). Room is usually mid 70s or so. Just a little too warm for my taste, and they are happy.

what are some things to do to help encourage males to lock with females? i have a pumpkin pied i want to pair with my female pied (shes been bred with previous breeder, my male hasnt bred yet). They lay with each other, i hope i just dont see it and that hes super fast. Ive put my other males shed in there with him however, havent seen anything, while my other two im pairing are absolute tanks and lock forever.
if you can pop a male, and get a sperm plug, wipe it down the females back. I know kind of gross. Then put the male in there.

I want at least three. I don't have a "too many". Typically I leave from Saturday to Wednesday. Gives em a day off before feeding, feeding day, day off after.

I put my Cinnamon Lesser male,in with my Bel female, and they'll cuddle, but just will not breed, or I'm just not seeing them lock, but that,I highly doubt,because I keep checking, and he isn't known to be a quickie kinda guy, he's been known to lock for 4 to 5 days, and I've double checked her sex, just to make sure,but those two won't do anything😢 Would an enchi fire be ok to put in with her, I mean, will they still produce a good amount of BEL's ??

@@OlympusReptiles she's a Mojave BEL and the male is a Fire Enchi, I put a Cinnamon Lesser in with her, but she has zero interest in him, so I thought maybe try a Fire Enchi male.
@@kattmoore941 right, buy fire can make black eyed lucy. lesser, mojo, russo, etc can make a blue eyed lucy. fire to that combo won't make a bel of any kind, but would get fire enchi mojo possibly.

I have a male who hasn't eaten in about 2 months, he has only lost around 25g, but I just feel like he is staring to look thin. I tried small meals, pre-killed, and mice(can't get asf in cali). Also when I have him in his own tub and open it for maintenance or to check on him, he tried to shoot out and seems to be looking for females. Basically he is in full blown breed mode. He lives in the same rack as the females and won't fit in my other rack cause he's too big. I'm only.using him for.2 females and 1 doesn't seem ready and the other ovulated. Should I move him to a different room for a month? I just don't think he'll be able to focus on eating.

I don't think you need an invite. I think it should work through patreon, or be automatic. If not let me know, Anna is the one who fixes all that.
As far as the snake goes, I have never moved to a different room but it might work pretty well. If I was getting concerned, and had a spot I would definitely try it!
Will a female eat a male??
I have never had that happen, but anything is possible. There are some snakes this would be more common in, but in balls I would say it is extremely rare, if not unheard of.
Do you have any experience with maternal incubation?
