What are YOUR predictions for next week's season finale?
Like the panel mentioned I think they have to do something that relates to the virus and Neuman's ability to control blood. Like maybe she gets infected but then is able to control it and actually infect other supes or something and ultimately ends up dead trying to do something with it, like kill Homelander. Honestly I love the fact that at this point I have no idea and really anything could happen
I think Ryan dies, maybe homelander, and next season is about stopping Butcher from unleashing the global pandemic. As for who Sage meant that homelander cannot beat, it could be soldier boy or Neuman. Hughies talk with Neuman might have given her a change of heart. Also, the GenV character that controls minds could be used against homelander.
The shapeshifter is gonna murder the president and directly frame Starlight.
Victoria is gonna become new president with Sage & Stan Edgar as advisors.
The parasite is gonna hijack Butcher's body and depower both Ryan and Homelander with the virus.
Ashley will take compound V and become a Medusa, the guy homelander can't beat us his daddy (final season boss fight)
I think Sage will have her "It was Agatha All Along" moment during the season finale. Sage this entire season has been playing extreme chess and whatever her ultimate goal is, might have something to do with the virus. Also, I'm hoping we get to see her fight or showcase some power we didn't know she had.
As for characters dying during the final, I have no clue who it could/will be. But, I honestly don't see Neuman being the one that get killed off. I feel like we haven't fully seen all of her powers. As far as we know, she's a blood bender like Marie, her body is possibly impenetrable, and she can smell v in people's blood stream.

That Noir and Sage reveal was unexpected 😂. Now him wanting to talk to her in the beginning of episode 4 makes so much sense

This. I thought this was the obvious implication but everyone keeps theorizing everyone else. This has been an ongoing theme for him but it’s really been coming to a head this season. Homelander is his own worst enemy in SO many ways.

Soldier Boy. He caused Maeve to lose her powers and could possibly do the same to Homelander.
Sage is 10 steps ahead. And is actually a hero not a villain. She is destroying the 7 from within. She has deep and Noir p-whipped. She is poisoning Firecracker (which I think her heart will be exploded by Neuman or maybe Marie) Sage protected A train. I wonder if she had a relative on the plane that homelander shot down. And the person homelander fears is either Butcher/Kessler or Soldier Boy. It has to be someone who csn become a villain if homelander is killed

I think Hughies mom was the shape shifter! She said that the V fell from his jacket, but she looked at it after he put it in his jacket. Victoria knowing about his dad and the shape shifter only being women. They have been following Hughie the whole time.

cool theory, I like it, but it doesnt make sense and cheapens a lot of character moments. Shapeshifter would have to transfer memories as well for it to work. Otherwise it wouldnt be able to know all the stuff Hughies mom would knew from his childhood, all the stuff Victoria knew and so on.
@kptmaci4979 the shapeshifter obviously can if it knew the code to the safe without being told it. The Shapeshifter is way different than Doppelganger.
@BigFactss_ to keep tabs on The Boys, and if it has dealings with Victoria, Victoria would want to keep tabs on Hughie, especially since he keeps threatening to expose her.
The deep never ceases to amaze me for how crazy things get with him. I honestly don't know who stuns me more, him or homelander.
The Deep and A-Train started in similar spots this season and took opposite paths. I’m kind of glad to see him break bad/dumb

Well there are superheroes in the show that do have immortality like Soldier Boy and Stormfront. Since Homelander has been aging, he doesn't have immortality then, so time can beat him.
14:26 Homelander, ripping people apart with his bare hands wasn’t shown in S4 E4 but it was heavily implied. You don’t get covered in blood lasering people apart.

💀 Bruh he wasn’t going all out. He also didn’t one shot Madelyn because he wanted her to feel it. He can control the temperature to an extent and he didn’t know her durability so why would he kill his love antagonist. I do agree that Ryan can surpass Homelander when he’s older but right now? Hell nah💀

As of this last episode, the 7 consists of homelander, a guy who can talk to fish, a guy who would rather be pursuing his acting career, and firecracker. GenV members might be filling in, but while the others are loyal to Vought mostly out of fear of homelander, the GenV'ers were taught to compete for the main spotlight against other supes. They may see homelander as just another challenge.
Octopuses can actually survive quite a while without water so i think she was def faking the suffocation so she could attack the deep
Imo she would just squeeze under the door and wait in the big tank. They can have camouflage too so

Why take starlight then?
If you think about it.. Mave fought Homelander one on one, and held her own more than basically Butcher, Solider Boy and Huey on temp V combined. The 3 of them together really couldn't subdue him enough or long enough for Solider Boy to nuke him
if you re-watch the fight, homelander wasn't even trying. whereas when he fought soldier boy, he didn't hold back, cuz soldier boy was really a threat to him.
Also in another episode it took Maeve, kimiko, and starlight, to all, not even successfully, subdue Stormfront. Storefront got off on homelanders lasers, and then Ryan's lasers turned her into post Lava anakin skywalker.

@@garyfagan1933which is completely different, as nolan tells mark in “invincible”. Trying to beat someone who’s trying to kill you, will get you killed. But Homelander survived. Plus that whole “ear stab” thing makes zero sense. You can’t penetrate any part of him with common objects. It’s like the rock trying to jam a straw of hay into your ear. The hay isn’t going to do jack other than crumble between his hand and your ear. Which also makes me wonder how they plan on injecting Victoria or Homelander with any virus. They can take bullets point blank to the head but a needle is going to work? Cmon now…
At the end of Episode 8 Henry Cavill will show up as Superman. The one person Homelander cannot defeat

Love this season people are going to find anything to hate on but for what they are building towards it works building up the characters for season 5 for all out chaos
The fact that they didn't completely END the deep and black noir baffled me. A-Train risked it all to help them just so they can leave LOOSE ends. They honestly weren't worth saving. I thought Annie was going to do to deep what homelander did to her ex-bf.
Remember they acknowledged that they didn’t know how or have the means to kill them. That’s why they need the virus. In the meantime, if they didn’t get out of there before Black Noir came back, he would’ve killed all the humans in the room.
Well in the episode MM says something like “we don’t know what will kill him (the deep) but we know black noir could kill us so we better get outta here”
Black noir just got shot out the building (stunned but not dead) and he’s implying they aren’t able to kill the deep fast enough before he recovers and kills them.
I thought the deep weakness was his gills?

I think the person Homelander can't defeat is Cindy, the telepath and telekinetic powered supe from season 2 who we last saw hitchhiking

John/Evan, we need those "Hank" and "Gina Was Right" t-shirts on the merch site!!! And Sage has definitely making chess moves behind the scenes. She met the shooter purposely knowing she was under surveillance. She knew they'd track him/her to the apartment to find the assassination plans. And she set up Starlight to get kidnapped and replaced by the shapeshifter. And I think Maeve is too easy of an answer as to the one person that Homelander can't defeat. I think it'll be Ryan, since he loves his son too much to defeat him one on one.

I like the part where Homelander is sad that a train betrayed him I mean, like do you remember the abuse of things he’s been doing to a train since season one I’m not surprised that his family left town too because they knew that Homelander is crazy
The way that it was phrased by Kessler, maeve could be pregnant by butcher and maybe the person he can't defeat is butcher because he now will have a legacy and he has ryan
I think Butcher and Mave had a kid more powerful than Homelander that’s why they mention them hooking up and the book with Mave.

What if the “kill the president plan” is a mislead completely, getting Homelander to plan his own assassination.
Though the shapeshifter is currently an antagonist, what if they’re the one, hired by Sage to eventually get close enough to Homelander on the day, to use the virus.

Am i the only one who thought the 1 person Homelander can't defeat isn't Ryan, and it isn't himself, it's Soldier Boy. Soldier Boy theoretically is the most powerful Supe. He can go toe to toe with homelander on the physical side but his ability to literally burn the compound V out of a person with essentially a nuclear blast means homelander has a huge weakness to him.

I love that the shapeshifter in the boys is essentially the same as the ones in Supernatural. Wondering if the shapeshifters can produce a baby shapeshifter like on Supernatural. Could be key in producing natural supes?? 🤔
The only reason Victoria Neumann hasn't tried Homelander is because she's not 100 % sure she can kill him. She only has one shot at it. Either she pops that head or she's dead.

Pretty sure Queen Mauve's been meeting with Sage in the background all this time. The cover of her notebook is Queen Mauve. May be a big part of her plan. Are we even sure Homelander got to her first? What if Mauve had the same idea earlier in the season? I think the two of them + victoria are all three in on the girl power thing, and I believe that they are the ones who kidnapped starlight so they can bring her in on their plan now.

Also they might have to use the virus to kill an out-of-control Butcher; tumor takes over in a hail marry situation to stop butcher from using it on somebody else, Butcher gives himself the shot before he loses control completely, Hughey's trying to talk him out of it we can still fix this etc. (Also might be a fake-out, it just kills the tumor, hurray etc.)
Yeah this being what happens to the virus sounds right. It resets Butcher to a healthy level for a final showdown in season 5, but also gives a real suspenseful moment where we think he's died for real. Too good not to do but we'll see.
Also I think the undersea creatures turn on The Deep when they hear what happened through the grapevine. All those fish in the bowl above the bed saw / heard everything and he's gonna take em back to the ocean like he always does to give em a break from captivity. Those fish are gonna snitch on The Deep.
If they kidnapped starlite, why would the shapeshifter do THAT to Huey?

imagine for the clone part of the comics they introduce a un-canonical and impossibly strong shapeshifter and make The Boys along with Ryan join in on the fight. I know it’d never come to fruition but it’d make a little sense since they like re organizing the story

I think she's talking about the new Noir. We had/have no idea how strong he was/is until he and Deep attacked The Boys. Sage has been romancing him w/o being lobotomized the whole time, so it's pretty obvious that she's researched him up and down (giggity) and knows his capabilities more than anyone. Plus.....he can fly.
You know when Sage dropped this line, I thought "I'm glad she didn't add '...you', because that's clearly what she meant, and it would be completely unnecessary to say it outright." And then I watched the reactions. RIP subtlety and trusting your audience.
I'm pretty sure it was a metaphor. One person Homelander can never defeat is himself and his giant ego. Without Sage he will constantly surround himself with "yes" men like The Deep and New Noir and milk maids like Firecracker. Supes who are nowhere near his level and who he can abuse and bully because they are afraid of him.
I think that the person he can't beat is either himself or Ryan. I want Ryan to take him down so bad.

The one person that he’ll never defeat is Edgar because Edgar knows how to physically neutralize him. There is a way to neutralize Homelander…. It’s in the lady scientists office. That’s why she wanted to talk to him up there.
It will be interesting to find out what was in Sage's book, and if she actually has two that just look identical.

My theory is the virus will cure Butcher by attacking the super powered tumor and leaving him unharmed.
But as a result of Butcher getting infected he will accidentally infect someone else, most likely Ryan but Starlight is also a possibility.
How does Gina get her predictions right??? Literally rewatching this after finishing Ep 8. Victoria Neumann is dead, Kessler has taken over Butcher, all the boys are dispersed...

The deep explained how he found his powers when passing by a tank of goldfish begging for their lives. So he can talk to any aquatic/sea life I’m pretty sure
1)I think homelander crushed a guy's head when he was in the alley with Stormfront.
2) Since Sage is the smartest
person she would know that the octopus would be able to smell/sense her (Sage) on the Deep. So I think she wanted the Deep to kill the octopus.
3) The most super in this episode was A-Train 👏

Am I misremembering something: Doesn't everyone think Maeve is dead? I thought the only ones who knew she was still alive was Annie and Ashley. I assumed the person Sage was referring to was Ryan. I can see it being Homelander himself. I don't think it's Butcher because he's dying already. I don't see it being Neuman either because it would take her a significant amount to pop Homelander's head.

Didn’t we see her try to pop homelanders head and he said it tickled? I’ll have to rewatch it I guess.
I think based on trailer footage I’m assuming the scene toward the end of the trailer with starlight and Hughie holding passports and hugging Kimiko and I assume MM, they’re safe. Butcher is going off the grid, Starlight and Hughie are going into hiding like the comics, I think Frenchie is likely to die, I think A-Train is another possibility in a final fight and Neuman of course. I’m hoping for some really incredible action scenes. I feel like the budget is waiting for the finale.

Gina is the most correct because she watched Supernatural and knows how Kripke likes to write and structure his shows. Big emotional beats are connected to outward actions and obstacles through metaphor. Starlight v. Starlight is going to happen, and nice call Jay on what the shifter is going to say to Starlight.
Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles, Dean on Supernatural) will come back and Kripke has already said he's hoping to get Jared Padalecki (Sam on Supernatural) back as at least a bit part - he is totally going to write an onscreen reunion of the two of them somehow in the next season. My prediction? Sage is going to flip sides to support the Boys because she knows that Homelander is never going to defeat his own ego (the one person he can't overcome. Ryan/Soldier Boy is an extension of that ego because he is his son/father). She said something to the effect of "the only way to take down a system is with their hand in their pocket and a knife at their throat" to Neuman when they were at Tek Night's party for billionaires. That is how next season is going to play out in it's endgame.
I think we will see Maeve in the last episode and I thinks she is now a mother. We had two mentions of Maeve in episode 7. One that Butcher raw dogged her and the diary. Homelander can takeout Maeve, but mother Maeve may be his weakness.
I think we’re forgetting getting the control that Vicki has on blood. She’s like girl from gen v and that can be a game changer for viruses.
How do the boys inject the virus into homelander when homie is bulletproof? By making it airborne and having him breathe it they bounce back to Sameer’s issue of it becoming a global supe cleanse.
I guess the one person who Homelander never can beat is the breastmilk addicted himself. We have seen last week how fast Firecracker got control over him. Even if it's only temporary, it gives lots of opportunities to take him down.
Sage did say she didnt want to be in the spotlight
I definitely agree that ATrain loses his legs. Especially after his redemption.
My favorite line was Homelander saying that Sage was smart but he was wise. Because sage means wise.
His own life's dissatisfaction... He can never be happy.
Has no one made a comment about Homelander drinking milk and, y'know, the character called Mother's Milk?
1000% we are still seeing Sage's plan play out the way she wanted it to. I don't recall a single thing that's happened this season that's noticably taken her by surprise or caught her off guard. I think she's looked at all 14 million outcomes and taken each into account.

Vicky has blood powers. Anyone else think she'll get infected by the virus somehow, and use her powers to take the virus out of her blood?
But isn't Vicky's body impenetrable? Remember in the 1st episode when both Hughie and Butcher tried to attack her with the acid and bullet, she was unfazed. Unless, she touches someone with it or if they make it in as gas form.

I love that the Boys references characters and spins them. The Boys shapeshiter is almost like Marvel's Husk and Mystique in one deliciously gross way

There's no debate, in the comic Homelander was ended by his clone...clearly Sage knows what we know, that Homelander is unbalanced, and he will destroy himself. He comes so close to losing it so many times in this series, he is a shaken soda bottle, dude is gonna crash out hard and break the world....
So I think at the end of season 5 if all sups arent killed alot of them will start being real superheros.
I think meave is going to be the one to train the kids from gen v, if the are able to get them out this season
