Great reaction, Jacob Geller videos always seem to have the most insane niche games in them that I’ve never heard of. He’s also great at making very pretentious art seem more approachable. I’ve been much more open about wired seemingly meaningless art since watching him, hope you keep enjoying his stuff!
I loved seeing his reaction to Mountain, lol. Every new quote just leaves him staring blankly at the screen trying to figure out what the purpose of this weird artsy BS even is. It's arguably not even really a game as much as it's an interactive art piece, but the fact that it's so nothing and pointless almost makes it more interesting? It'd be a meme if it wasn't so pretentious in its presentation, it's like someone released it as a practical joke where there's just no punchline at all. So you're just left with this weird abstract meaningless feeling thing that's just odd, right? Why does it exist? What does it mean? I dunno. What do you want it to mean? Does it even have to mean anything to make people ascribe meaning to it? Is there even value in that??? The more you try to understand the stupid thing, the more it seems like the real game isn't even about the mountain itself as much as it's about the conversation created around this 'experience', or whatever else you could even say this game really is.
After experiencing it for a while I can say mountain makes a great billboard , subway, waiting rooms etc because its a live peace of art that is the same but unique at the same time. and it has enough limited interaction that people can give prompts without feeling confused at the same time it can calm and relax you so its a amazing fit for prisons or psychiatric hospitals.
I definetly recommend playing the Kid AMnesia Exhibition. Outisde of How To Dissappear Completely (since its fully played in the pyramid) i recommend listening to the two albums Kid A and Amnesia in general. They are masterpieces of atmospheric electronic sound.
