She so beautifully explained the confusion of embracing our own hair. Hair that we should already be subject experts on.
So true. This is my life 7 years ago; for about 15 min. The first "wash and go" video I saw that was 10 minutes long, after the wash, brought me back to my senses. I love my fro and I am so happy natural hair has been so normalized that I now see teenaged girls rocking their natural hair without a care. Howeber these 'tutorials" will have you thinking natural hair is a major chore. I don't need 3 day hair, my fro is fabulous 365.
Discovered her when I was 14. I am 21 years old and I'm still wowed at how beutuful she is .

I tried "the best twist out ever" by Naptural85 on youtube the night before I had to volunteer and ended up combing out all my coils and having to tame a hot mess. I really cried, I just looked terrible that day but I volunteered anyway.

As a white woman who did not grow up doing black hair but now has mixed daughter's I FEEL YOUR PAIN! I had no teacher except UA-cam and all 3 of my kids have different hair texture and grades. I have spent countless hours and dollars on different products and techniques that never turn out quite right. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!! Thanks for speaking on this, listening made my day. 😍
Don't put me in a box Bless you for trying to learn. I cannot tell you the kids I’ve seen who are mixed and their hair is a HOT mess and the mom obviously has t taken the time to know and do their hair PROPERLY. Love you ❤️

This had me dead 💀💀💀 like that's why I don't do natural hair tutorials. The only one I truly trust is afro khadisiac bc her hair is almost exactly like mine.
I just use vaseline and shapoo and am done
