@@aucourant9998 Still on there to this day as well. I wonder what happened. I wonder if he couldn't get a letter of authentication for it so he didn't want to take a hit.
Drew always assumes that dealers have huge margins when he makes a bid. When they say ' This could be Worth X' it rubbish ! not the real prices at all compared to the market. BUT I still like watching these and I like his taste but dealers are a special breed !
Stephanie Murray. Your being Pleasant and Polite! Noticed your fairly prolific with opinions- I used to be but mine where Blunt. Good Observations plus keep the torch burning. Wishing you Well.
How come when antique dealers ask a high price , usually a lot more than I item is worth . then quickly drop the price they are business men/woman . If I as a plumper/builder did that I would be called a cowboy ?
Gordon Russel no longer exists as a company it was bought out by a french office company who mismanaged it completely they sold the land that the factory was on to build houses and closed a company that had been going since the 1600s. I did some temp work there 25 tears ago and some 22 year old moron of a manager who knew nothing told me to take parts from some desks to cut up to make shelving. I told him he was an idiot. he looked very surprised. I then said those parts that you have told me to cut up to make shelving have been through your factory and had a large number of man hours spent on them and you are telling me to cut them up!!!! If I walk fifty meters across the factory to that scrap bin over there and use scrap wood you will not be losing money. He went ok do that then. and looked very unhappy that a temp had demonstrated more intelligence than him. I knew then that the company was losing money because the management were idiots and didnt know what they were doing. sure enough a couple of years later they closed the factory and said OH! people just dot want to spend the money to buy good furniture.. The truth is that the management destroyed the company.
