The Ghostbuster and the Steiner Screwdriver are scary looking. Amazing they never hurt anyone.
I grew up on ecw on illegal channels and i still have no idea what moves are considered scary nowadays
Every show I was convinced someone died out for sure
The Steiner Screwdriver always looked absolutely brutal. If it was done by anyone else I’d question why the opponent agreed to take it but I’d imagine Scott and Rick could just make you take it whether you wanted to or not lol
@@Rerpesentz On the concrete
Lol, the Steiner Screwdriver looks like a disgusting move to take. I'd rather take a Canadian Destroyer.
AJ Styles does them regularly on Raw now. On the 11/10 episode of Dynamite both Pac and Dax Hardwood did tremendous ones, tho the top rope one by Pac did not result a pinfall. It's one of AEW's biggest problems. Absolutely spectacular and devastating moves are almost never the finish.
right, that top rope brainbuster should've been the finisher of the match
If Pac went for a pin fall after that brainbuster it would have looked so fake. Pac took the worst of the bump and there are like 10 ring side cameras showing that from every angle.
If you want to pin someone while your both on the top rope, throw them off and cross body them. Everything else looks fake for the same reason as the brainbuster.
Used to be that a spike Piledriver would take you out of action for a month or so, even a regular piledriver would get you a week off at least. Now, you damn near have to kill somebody just for them to limp a little.
@@Briansgate and yet the schoolboy is nearly unbeatable. 😅
Dax has won some matches with the Brainbuster. That's how FTR won the AAA Tag Titles from the Lucha Bros.
Eddie Guerrero used to do a nasty one. Jim must not be paying attention to FTR because Dax does a great Brainbuster.
AJ styles too
@@royalty843 not to mention Jim’s arch nemesis Austin Aries has probably the best brainbuster in the last 20 years
Brainbuster is just deadly looking
Brainbusters just look devastating, I really like that move
I remember the brainbuster eddie did on rey mysterio when he turned heel
Koko is such an underrated wrestler.
Agreed he was very good. Great charisma. Good high flier should have been at least a tag team champion or IC Champion as some point but lot of wrestlers on that roster then
@@adamandanna the man could drop kick someone and somehow land on his feet.
As small as he was, Jimmy Garvin did a mean brainbuster. And Arn's gourdbuster was an awesome finisher!
The first one I saw Garvin did it to David Von Erich, and David sold it like he was so hurt, 8 year old me jumped off the couch screaming and crying.
It’s a shame Arn had to stop using it because the locker room was too afraid to take the bump correctly. Always looks garbage when they put their knees down
Loved how Arn signaled for the Gourd Buster
Generico’s turnbuckle brainbuster is one of the few moves that instantly made me jump out of my seat the first time I saw it
BRAINBUSTAH!!!!!!
Austin Aries does a nice brainbuster. Agree with JC about the safety of the piledriver, when done properly the victims head never even gets close to the mat.
Didn't Austin ares give Mike Knox the brainbuster in tna impact. What a manuver
@@SAM-ru4vx not sure about Knox, but I know AA used it in TNA.
Eddie Guerrero had a great brainbuster and Tajiri had a underrated one as well.
You aint lying he spiked Dean Malenko in their ECW series..just saw one of the matches the other day
It was a brilliant move..until every indie guy stated doing it as a transitional move in every match on the card.. You're dropping the guy on his head, it's a f******g finisher!
Tomohiro Ishii in NJPW still finishes matches with it. There are a lot of guys I see using it, actually.
Travis Heckel knows how to make the Ghostbusters artwork!
I love Travis' art. Its so simplistic and honest.
Corny and the Real Ghostbusters will be back after these messages...
Brian makes a great point. You could destroy someone with a big, frozen tube of ground beef.
Brain buster, slingshot suplex…two of the greats.
Better than the slingshot suplex i liked when a guy would just drop and hang u out to dry on the ropes..benoit used to do it alot in ECW 😅
I always loved the brainbuster. It's my go to finisher for my CAW in WWE games lol.
Corny and the Real Brainbusters
Best wwf teams ever
It's Austin Aries , ACH, Tomohiro Ishii's finisher what's great is periodically you'll always get someone use it as such. Dustin Rhodes has a good gourdbuster
Dustin Rhodes had the best Bulldog
That time Corny Slimer wiped his butt all over Bischoff's Corvette.
KoKo beware had the best brain buster in the business
Indie marks will say Gerico
Pac and Dax literally did 1 each on Wednesday
The brainbuster has never ever gone away.. lol Brian is just talking out of his ass..... again.
@@mr.joedirt8583 yeah.. i winced like i was watching somebody get hit by a car.
@@mr.joedirt8583 yeah, it was fantastic! AEW has really been trimming the goofy shit down over the past month, and i'm all about it. The only thing they need now is to have a few squash matches every now and then.
@@Robby_C My problem is the brawls at the end of a lot of matches, they need to tune that down but the shows have been good lately aside from that
@@crowns9966 yeah... they def have a habit of repeating post match angles for sure.
I remember when Linda McMahon took a Tombstone. Looked like she was ready for a steak dinner and an evening of watching late night tv.
Kane with the safest Tombstone ever
Without hearing one word of the audio I LOVE the art work of Koko’s Ghostbuster. I thought he did it fantastic. Best brainbuster I’ve ever seen live was Shinya Hashimoto when I was in the Air Force stationed in Japan. The way Hashimoto got elevated in the air himself was amazing.
The top rope brain buster that PAC did to Dax this week was perfect also Dax uses it and it looks great
It was!!
Koko B. Ware entrance song was Pildriver and finishing move was the Brainbuster yet the Brainbusters finishing move was the spike piledriver.
The top rope brainbuster by PAC on Dax impressed me big time
Agreed
I couldn't believe they did that and still did a kickout. it should have been the finish.
And they still kick out.. But get beat by an underwhelming move few minutes later? Logic😑
@@heywood903 the coveted Fruit Rollup
@@whidoineedthis AKA a lazy overused finish.
“Orndorf never piledrove me.”

The Helix Matress is not for chronic masturbaters!!!!! It is for Heterosexual couples, who procreate and avoid perverts
WWE doesn't allow the brain buster anymore
I imagine the removal of "head-first" moves was to not encourage kids paralyzing eachother on trampolines and off the couch. But who knows.
When you want great artwork, who you gonna call? Travis Heckel! 🙂
Agreed!!
I ain't scared of no substitute artist.
As a kid I remember thinking the brain buster was the most devastating move there was. Maybe the DDT was a close second.
I was fortunate enough to be right there when PAC did it to Dax off the top rope on dynamite and I was like oh my God
Cornbusters. Because Bustin Makes Him Feel Good.
austin aries has a nice version...
Too bad the version of himself is terrible.
@@chisasa9509 too bad he eats the Turnips
SuperMario needs to thwart those pesky ShyGuys 😒
Pac and Dax Harwood just did one off the top rope.
Yeah, they called it an Avalanche Brainbuster.
I was just thinking the same thing
Can someone please bring back the Torture Rack. Move is sick, and was so insanely over every time Lex did it
Nothing Luger ever did was over. He was garbage.
@@critterray6742 that's weird
@@jovanss2361 his face was weird, his mic "skills" were weird and his wrestling was weird. Body builders should pose, wrestlers should wrestle.
Always been one of my favorite moves. Looks amazing, absolutely effective. It's like the greatest DDT of all time, just massively exaggerated.
The Brainbuster is my favorite move of all time; it’s a shame we don’t see it much anymore, but I also appreciate it not being prostituted like the DDT or Superkick.
As far as “no one” doing it anymore… Dax won the first match against Santana & Ortiz with a brainbuster. And although Jim hates him, Austin Aries has a BEAUTIFUL brainbuster that I‘m sure he’s seen plenty of times before. AJ Styles breaks it out every once in a while and I love the snap he puts on it - especially the one he did on Ricochet.
Jim needs to do a video on a list of his favorite wrestling moves. I love the "Hells Gate" finisher submission from the Undertaker. I also hate some moves like Ruby Riot's "Riot Kick" that looks fucking stupid. That would be a fun video.
Austin Aries might be controversial but to his credit he has a damn good brainbuster. I liked how he would yank and drop his opponents straight down.
I liked Eddy's Brainbuster. It made sense because he would wrestle slower. Then hit the brain buster and RUN ti the tip ripe for the splash. Sense of urgency.
Austin Aries to me had one of the most beautiful brainbusters ever
Dax Harwood uses the brainbuster! Come on, you guys should be all over that one!
I use to love Perry Saturn's Brainbuster
damn this artwork, bravo
Ok I know he isn't a favorite of everyone but I was a fan of Austin Aries and Kid Kash's variation of the Brainbuster.
Was this recorded before or after Pac hit one off the top rope on Dax?
Beforehand. You will have to wait for the Cornette Experience for that review.
Brainbusters are great and so were pile drivers, especially jumping pile drivers….they used to give a little hop and make it look really devastating. Regular sit down piledrivers are easy, and tombstones are safe too. The Owen pile driver was an inverted modified tombstone, and that’s how Austin got fucked up. Had it been a regular pile driver, he would have been ok. Austin didn’t want to do it, it Owen assured him he would be ok.
Shane Douglas did a "Brainbuster". But he called it "Pittsburgh Plunge".
There were multiple nice brainbusters on Dynamite this week. They’re still listening to Jim I see. Lol
Chavo Guerrero always had a nice Brainbuster. Eddie did as well but Chavo doesn't get near as much credit as he should.
Wtf, Brian forgetting the finishing move of his fav Japanese wrestler, Tomohiro Ishii!?
I would love a series where Jim just goes through andisco's thrill and kind of gives the history of specific wrestling moves kind of like he did last week with the Irish Whip, And way back when he did the pile driver I just find it really interesting to discover where these moves came from who Jim thinks didn't the best stuff like that
I loved the history of Lou Thez and where the press that Stone Cold did
Koko and Randy Savage were in Memphis at the same time for a year and a half. Does anyone know if Savage was pissed about Koko wearing the same iconic Swatch sunglasses in WWF?
The Thumbnail is Everything as Usual …… 😂💀
FTR does it in every match. Pac did one off the top rope to Dax.
I don't know if it was mentioned, but Liger did a picture perfect Brainbuster.
As did Hashimoto
Amazing stuff by Travis as per usual.
welp... clearly Brian doesn't actually watch any wrestling because the brainbuster never went away..
Kid Kash had a great Brain buster I've always loved that that would have been my finisher
Eddie Guerrero has the one of the best brainbusters, but Shinya Hashimoto´s braibuster ddt was the best
Hashimoto had the coolest and sickest Brainbuster ever!
In the past 15 years as a fan I haven't seen a brain buster that wasn't just a vertical suplex done fast
Owen also legit hurt Severn with a Tombstone. It wasn't just an angle.
Kid Kash as Cruiserweight Champ in WWE. Underrated finish and worker.
Making his way to the ring... "The Garbage Match Superstar!"
Kawada's brainbuster was always my favorite... and wasn't the meanest move on his arsenal.
Forgot when Undertaker killed Hulk Hogan and compressed his spine 6 inches
If I remember correctly (could be wrong), they also called Koko’s ghostbuster a piledriver, which drove me crazy because it wasn’t. Wasn’t that the name of his song on one of the WWF albums? I thought Murdoch had the best brainbuster because he would hold the guy up vertically for about 20 seconds before dropping him.
lol yeah, "Piledriver" was the one with the video with Koko singing it and all the wrestlers are hanging out at a construction site
Virtually everyone in New Japan does a Brainbuster.
Like Jim said it's mainly on who can probably perform the move
How about the brainbuster Randy Rose did on Stan Lane when Paul E & the original Midnight Express jumped Jim Cornette's Midnight Express on TBS 33 years ago???
Loved Koko's GHOSTBUSTER Suplex.
You know.
It would be nice if every segment didn't segway into a commercial with these guys.
Didn’t Pac just give Dax a brainbuster off the top rope the other night on dynamite?
Yes, and it was glorious.
Couple of my favorite moves from WWF No Mercy were the brainbuster and back body drop. Very cool moves
I still stand with the opinion that John Cenas FU/AA is a firemans carry slam and in no way a death valley driver. It should be as effective as Dino Bravo's side slam that even jobbers were allowed to kick out from.
Heard it feels just like a piledriver, yeaaaaaaah
Travis! Great to have you back! The others have been really cool to see too, dont get me wrong, but, welcome home, Travis!
What the hell do you mean "make a come back"? Brainbusters are more common these days than vertical suplexes.
Koko as a Ghostbuster and Corny as Slimer hahaahahahaaaa Travis' artwork is pure gold.
Marty Scurll used the ghostbuster but he’s basically black balled from wrestling
So if back bumps wear out your body the most, why when you start training do you have to take hundreds of bumps, even if you've mastered them relatively quickly??? I understand its so you know how to safely take a back bump but that many when you start training? Especially when people like Jake Roberts has said you don't need to take a lot or ANY bumps to have a match !!!!
I think the fact Koko's move was called "The Ghostbuster" hurt his career, because once people got over the movie, which was followed by a lackluster sequel, Koko was left looking as dated as The Rock N' Roll Express in 1990...
Loved the sequel.
@@stevebragg4256 Agree to disagree...
Solid theory.
Curious if this will be re-addressed on the experience after that top-rope brainbuster to Dax on last Wednesday's Dynamite.
I was genuinely shocked when that happened. It looked devastating.
They do Brainbusters in WWE, they just look like suplexes.
CORNETTE is WRESTLING
I was going to point out that the body slam can lead to head trauma, but Cornette called it. But does this mean Mercedes Martinez wasn't using the fisherman's buster in WWE? I don't keep up with the WWE roster except through Cornette's podcast really, but I know she was there and a regular user of a brain buster variation she could regularly use on Amazing Kong. Shad Gaspard also used a version of the gordbuster as a finishing move and he was in WWE for a good while...but that one I actually saw. They made him switch it out to something else, so he used a really good looking STO instead.
Kyle O’Reilly and Aj Styles have nice Brainbusters
Doesn’t Austin Aries use it as a finisher too?
he does
I think of three top guys in Japan who used it throughout the late 90s and 00s... Considering it was a so big then I'd be shocked if it wasn't still in use by someoen over there.
I am sure the bank-addicted drug-robber has CTE.
Thumbnail of the year!
You won’t see a pile driver or brain buster in AEW because most of them don’t know what they’re doing.
Jim as Slimer is amazing!
Corney Slimer for the 🏆
I remember when WWE banned chair shots to the head. One of the Puerto Rican gangsters, Grizzled Youth I believe, broke kayfabe to explain how a chair shot to head could be done safely.
This art is EVERYTHING.
Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten should be the biggest cautionary tale about CTE from hardcore stuff. We used to cheer while they were having their brains smashed in with chairs and look at what happened to them.
The brain buster is done all of the time these days
Those 80's 90's gimmicks were something serious when there's something strange in your neighborhood who you gonna call.
Are guys not strong enough with less steroids to do the big military press slam that was popular in the 80s?
Brain buster was used alot in the early-mid 2000s
