I'm from Sri Lanka. Farmers have been using organic and regenerative agricultural methods in Sri Lanka for thousands of years. Sri Lanka even exported surplus rice to neighbouring countries one thousand years ago. These methods create nutrition to the plant using a natural cycle that involves soil micro organisms and 78% of nitrogen available freely in the atmosphere.
Continuous usage synthetic fertilisers, weedicides and pesticides made out of left over chemicals from oil, pharmaceutical and weapons industry has killed these natural organisms in the soil. Sri Lanka has been using chemicals for agriculture since 1960's. The soil in most farms is literally dead. Hence the transition from chemicals to organic cannot be made overnight. It must be done in several stages starting with reviving the soil first. But the easiest way to be organic is to use fresh unadulterated lands. Currently there are hundreds of such farms in Sri Lanka owned privately. However, as for most farms that have been using chemicals for over half a century, the story is different and it needs a systematic approach. This something even a 10 year kid would understand. But sadly the former president thought he can go full organic overnight and that ultimately led to his demise.
So please don't spread misinformation.

I was just meditating on that the other day while walking home from work the other day. I literally took a picture of my self in the dark "My shadow image"! What I was thinking about before I took the picture is how we are ruining the planet not building upon it and checking in on my mental health. Things I need to hold on to and things to let go.
