- A classic drama by the great Neapolitan playwright Eduardo de Filippo subtitled in English.
Being Italian myself, and English not being my first language, I apologise for any inaccuracies, mistakes or odd turns of phrase. I noticed there wasn't a version of this with English subs and took it upon myself to provide one. Although Eduardo's theatre is intimately and indissolubly associated with Naples and its culture, its themes are universally valid and its artistic value is immense. I hope you enjoy this play as much as I - and virtually every Neapolitan on this planet.
My grandparents were born in Italy, but rarely spoke Italian because they wanted to be American. Unfortunately we learned no Italian. I have tried to learn Italian, but my head is to thick. It would be wonderful if more of these movies could be translated for us who have a great love and pride of our Italian heritage.
this is terrific, wish could see complete with english subtitles.. Anyone know of any other great movies like this with english subtitles.
