- One of the funniest and best known films featuring Neapolitan comedy legend Totò. The movie, directed in 1956 by Camillo Mastrocinque, depicts the struggles and moral dilemmas of three men in financial difficulty, in 1950's Italy. Set against the backdrop of a country still untouched by the prosperity of the following decade is the hilarious, short-lived criminal career of a "gang of honest men". We are presented with a humorous but essentially truthful depiction of a nation split down the middle, where honest workers unwittingly line the pockets of their corrupt ruling classes; the greedy, crooked and inhumane Mr Casoria, the property manager of the tenement where the action takes place, becomes a symbol of moral decadence and institutionalised injustice. Honesty is no longer the norm, but a courageous choice that borders on economic and social martyrdom.

The funniest part was when Mustafa was slurping the soup on the table, and Toto continued to eat from the same plate after pushing the pooch off his chair.

What is the point of subtitle this movie? is like driving through France, whith a map of Germany... Toto' is unique in itself, a lot of what he is saying, isn't even being translated. You cannot translate Italian comedy. Still, good effort.
Does anyone know how is called a song that plays from 43,42 to 46,29 and what is the name of the song sung by a women on terace at 46,29. If someone could tell me I would greatly appreciate it, cause I like them both very much.
+Nikola Roza the music playing from 43,42 to 46,29 was originally composed for the film. it's basically the theme with some variations to it. i've tried to google the lyrics to the song but nothing comes up. it must have been popular back then, but now it doesn't seem like many people remember it...

Correct, movies like that are not translatable , not subtitled or dubbed! You just have to learn Italian and Neapolitan…
