  • Fence line feeder that we built using University of Tennessee design. This design allows for feeding of the cattle from outside of the fence.

Good looking feeder. Just be aware of feed pad maintenance. That part is critical. Thanks for the video!

Agree, so far this Spring the area around the feeder is fine but with the recent rains 30 feet away is getting pretty muddy. Will add more gravel this Summer/Fall. Also plan on extending the wooden fence at least 12 feet on both sides of the feeder. The cattle panel we used got bent up a bit by cows pushing for position.

Cows don’t have tape measures or levels. Good work Todd!

You put the vertical boards on the wrong side. You want them on the outside so the cattle push against the boards and not just the screws holding the boards.

Thanks for the suggestion. Has held up for two years so far but could change if we have issues.

How are you liking your fence line feeder? Stay safe around those PTO shafts! Sometimes we got to do what we got to do, but that made me hold my breath

Love it, has made it through two winters so far. Working on adding some more gravel to the base further out from feeder as it was so wet this past Spring. Have cows using it right now for a week till our last pasture catches up. Wet Spring and mostly rain-free summer do not work well for consistent paddocks regrowth even with rotational grazing.
