As a Broncos fan having to watch that dumpster fire last season he should take responsibility. He was the one who allowed so many of the situations to happen. I'm glad Sean Payton said what he said because it's the truth, Hackett wasn't ready to be a head coach and you can see that just by the decisions he made. You can be a fun coach without being walked over, leadership starts with you!
Mark's "You Stink" from SportsNation is still my favorite sports show segment
Never apologize for telling the truth.
His 'truth' conveniently leaves out his QBs responsibility here.
Then say Russel Wilson fucking sucked.
Let's be honest. Patrick Mahomes would have found a way to win if he were the Broncos QB. Russell Wilson - holding the ball for the offense - should get most of the blame.
He maybe telling the truth, but Payton is a mediocre coach at best.
@@anthonypatterson8796he did include the QB. Comprehension is key. He said their is also 20 other dirty hands
The whole damn reason hacket was even the coach was the Broncos really believed Rodgers was going to be there QB.
That was just speculation
wrong
I think Hackett proved he wasn't ready to be a head Coach but we will see how he does with Jets. He is back with Roger's so the sky is bright. Love your show I have learned alot !!!!! Peace
Hacket aint calling anything over there lmfao
Hackett was a great OC before becoming a HC, so I expect he'll find success in NY with Rodgers. Those two are in each other's heads so the connection is pretty solid. js
It was probably best left unsaid because it was obvious ... that’s why they fired Hackett and replaced him with a veteran head coach. Payton was showing support for Wilson ... which is good for the Broncos. He wants the best from Wilson and can take the additional heat. Hope it works. Rogers used it to show support for Hackett and show leadership to his new teammates ... which is good for the Jets. It was entertaining and sport show fodder to liven up pre-season.
Hackett didn't even get a full season. This will affect his career in the future if he tries to get another head coaching gig. Bounty Gate Payton was being a scumbag.
@@mr.brenman2132Doubt Hackett will ever get another another shot.
Agree that it was obvious, but the problem was that too many people were too afraid to speak about it and to be brutally honest about it and call it what it was. Payton had the balls to do this. Sometimes it is powerful for someone to say what everyone else has been thinking but has shied away from actually putting it out there. Now Sean has put it out there, and he's addressed that awkwardness that's been floating around the organization since the start of last season. He popped the awkward balloon that was floating though the room and woke his team up.
@@cecil5152 He's a young coach. He could easily get another gig.
@@Steve-bi4ej You mean he's protecting his washed up quarterback. Balls to do what? She people call out his involvement with Bounty Gate more often as well?
Parcells has referred to Payton as like a son to him. So anyone mentored by Bill isn't exactly going to mince words themselves.
yeah, that's most likely true. Parcell was a great coach but a D* otherwise.
Why didn’t Mark help Hackett instead of just telling him he needs to do better?
Never seen a head coach get fired and then have a bunch of media and fans feel sorry them as much as Hackett has
He’s a nice guy, and the whole thing coincided with a campaign AGAINST his former QB: Russ.
I liked Hackett as a person. He wasn’t ready. That’s all. Russ needed to be humbled, but he has taken a lot of unfair bullsh!t too.
A lot of lies have been told, and a lot of revisionist history has taken place.
@yoshyodriguez9331 You mean after Payton attacked him in a classless manner?
Nathaniel Hackett was hired by the Jets as their OC.
Why can't people accept some folks make good assistant coaches or coordinators and some make better head coaches? Success at one job doesn't always translate up to the so-called next level.
Hackett didn't even get a full season. You can't evaluate him after that.
I have missed listening to Stink!
Hackett was a joke... If he wasn't he would have been asked to come back.
Head coach first. Then qb
Remind us who they signed for a quarter of a billion dollars?
@anthonypatterson8796 true... Russ took them to the cleaners but it's not like they can't afford it.
Yes. Because he still scoring 16 points. Sean and russel for the win😊
Yes
Did Payton lie? No the head coach absolutely didn't do a even a mediocre job. Didn't do anything to deserve the job coaching wise. Somebody please just say Payton was maybe harsh. Cowards hate the truth if it's not in their favor or to their liking. Not a single person that's upset Payton spoke the truth had a major issue and stood up and spoke out that he didn't even deserve the job while at the very least 5 other proven coaches were not even considered. Then they guy hired his friends or friends of friends. There is no Dam code that telling the truth has to be done in a way that please people that don't want to face facts
i love what Sean said...
classless bounty gate coach.
They call him "Stink" b/c that's what it smells like when he holds his ankles
Future Broncos Coaches: don't talk to Schlereth.
Russ was declining in Seattle, I guess we blaming Carroll too?
Why didn't payton bring up the time he was banned for a year and caused his team to lose multiple draft picks? Thats why they won the superbowl that year. He's been out coached so many times and done nothing without that year and without brees.
This is asinine. Like there isn't an established hierarchy for QBs already, office or not. Gimme a break. SMH.
Most people agree that Hackett did a poor job, but it wasn’t for Sean Payton to call out publicly. Only the owners, i.e., Walton, Rice, et al. had the right to say anything.
I do understand that Payton needed to kill the noise against Russ.
Norv Hackett.
Im glad mark said that point about what came with russ cause people just making it all hacketts fault like russ didnt think he was the man comin to denver. Russ played a big part in this
Ownership played a part in this. You can tell because they tried to fix their mistake by bringing in a veteran head coach.
Total bullsh*t! Nathaniel Hackett follows Aaron Rodgers to NY, so what is he other than Rodgers' personal QB coach, coordinator, whatever? And we're supposed to believe Russell is the first QB ever to have a personal office? Russell was the first to come up with that idea. Yeah, right!
@@xman9190Hackett was hired by Lafleur and left to take a head coaching position. The Packers offense suffered as a result. There is no OC in the league that is there by charity.
@@jefferytokarsky1930The result will be the same.
@@mr.brenman2132
You're naive if you think relationships don't play a part in who does or doesn't get hired.
Was this recorded before Sean Payton apologized how is the unapologetic? He apologized.
He only regretted saying what he did
He has never actually apologized
“I regret what i did, and i take full responsibility” is the modern day, public replacement for a simple “im sorry”
Im sorry implies fault, and fault opens up lawsuits and unplanned bills. The two things human fear most these days
WELL......HACKETT OFFENSE GETS TO IT'S FAMILIAR 16 PONT THRESHOLD IN THE HALL OF FAME GAME.
Look for Packers to move #69 at the end of the pre-season.
Kyle Shanahan lol
No excuse now will Russ cook we gonna fine out
Ppl forget how bad Freddie Kitchens was as a head coach. Hackett was never head coach material. All u had to do was look at his pops Paul to figure that out.
Sean payton missed the playoffs 4 consecutive seasons with drew Brees
Wow. Schlereth being Schlereth, turning the conversation to be about himself. Wow.
Funny how he never talks about his steroid use when he always brings up his career.
