After years of collecting only mechanical watches I purchased 3 quartz watches in the last 18 months. I am starting to appreciate the grab and go convenience, the accuracy, and the lack of necessary maintenance. Combine this with the generally lower price tag and I think I may be sliding into the dark side!
I bought this watch last month. Absolutely love it. So simple and clean looking, especially without the 24hr markers that are on the mechanical dial. Great grab and go watch.
Hamilton is a great name. Khaki is an awesome field watch. But I kind of wonder about Hamilton Khaki "Quartz". At $440 (including tax which we can not avoid), it is about same price as Glycine Combat GMT with SW330 Swiss movement & full metal bracelet. (By the way, Rob reviewed this watch about 2 years ago). Thanks for the review, Rob. PS: by the way, I just love the dial design. It is an absolute Classic.
I like the new dial for the quartz Khaki’s. I wouldn’t be mad if the mechanical Khaki dial got updated. What is that lovely green dial dress piece in the background?!
I'm yet to see one in the flesh but these caught my eye when they were announced. I think that as usual they missed the mark with the white one but I'm curiouse about it, maybe it looks better in real life. Anyway, I actually need something like these Hamiltons for everyday use. Would be nicer a cream dial but black always works, all my current watches are black anyway :D
I've been wanting a little quartz beater for a while now and I can't see any reason not to go for this one. Can't argue with the price, classic good looks and a seconds hand that hits its marks!
Thanks for the review Rob! I live about 30 minutes away from Trifecta watches in Lafayette and called them and spoke to Jake and he was really nice and took my name and number and said he would let me know if Hamilton comes out with the larger size. I let him know I saw the review on your channel. I do enjoy this hobby
Two own goals here by Hamilton IMO. The lack of decent water resistance is a killer on this type of watch (particularly given everyone knows Hamilton's version of 50m is at risk in light rain showers..). Also the 'Khaki' text on the dial just looks like an afterthought, poorly executed. It's a shame as if they fixed those two things, this could be an easy watch to recommend.
I really don't understand why they couldn't fit it with a screw down crown for and push the WR rating to 100m. Its really not complicated! There are far better offerings from brands like Vaer, Timex and Baltany in terms of specs that come in at a lot less. Its not worth the price tag at all. In fact it should retail for half of what they are asking. The mechanical version can be had for under £300 on the used market. I imagine these will struggle to get £200 on the used market.
A watch ready for anything life throws at you, as long as you don’t get it near any water.

I'm lucky that I only live 30min's away from Saltzman's Watches.

Same strap as comes on some of the Khaki mechanical.

Finally, a quartz.
Does this keep perfect time??

I like my G Shock's for tough applications. This is nice though.

What is the black dial Hamilton you showed on the desk?
If you check Hamilton website I’m pretty sure it is under Khaki Navy, maybe Khaki Aviation. There are two dial options I believe.

Everyone should own a Hamilton. Yes, I own a few, thanks to Mimo's in Long Beach. See you there in January, Rob.
Excuse me, could you please clarify if the watch in question is a Swiss-made quartz watch or a low-cost quartz watch?
Every man needs a big black watch,
and a khaki field watch
no

Home run
Ups, 400 bucks?😢
Will it be coming out in 42mm? Thanks.
Hope so. Even a 40 would do.
@@dannyfree1120 A 40mm would be perfect! I'm just assuming they will do a 42mm
@@nickfoster3637 Hamilton always frustrate me. I literally look for a reason to buy one, but they never deliver for me 😃
Too many other watches for it to compete with at that price point. Maybe $300 price range at most for it...$20-30 movement in a glass beaded case....
I HAVE A ESCAPEMENT TIME WITH 100 METERS WR, MECHAQUARTZ THAT LOOKS JUSSSSSST THE SAME, FOR ONLY 48 BUCKS
$400 😱
Wish they would make a 42 or 44mm version…..
AMZWATCH 's watch really surprises me!
