All the complainers saying it’s not fair comparing a 2 stroke to a 4 stroke. That’s the point! Evinrude knew the other manufacturer were all going 4 stroke and this was to prove that the number on the motor maybe the same but it doesn’t mean the power is the same

Fast forward a few years, Evenrude is out of business after a long failed and expensive fuel injection problems....bet everyone with that E-tec wishes they had the Mercury or Yamaha options now

Exactly because comparing a two-stroke Evinrude versus a Yamaha 4 stroke is not fair it has to be two stroke Evinrude versus 2-stroke Yamaha VMAX

try more like 2 stroke merc vs 2 stroke etec and this test will be more even and precise. Etec may be dissapointed with result.
