    During the day I have a normal heartbeat, afib occurs just about every night even with a cpap/ASV. I noticed that eating late at night makes it worse, going to bed hungry usually means a better night sleep for me.

      @@EnfleurageOs I went to the ER for an irregular heart beat, didn't have afib at the time, it started a month after. That's a long story. As I said, I got in trouble a month after that but couldn't schedule a sleep test for 2 months. That was too long to wait, thought I might die in the mean time and couldn't fall asleep without gasping for air. So I bought a old cpap, then a better one, the second indicated I have a central sleep apnea episode about one out of three apnea episodes. So I bought a third, the ASV. So I've never been officially diagnosed with afib, but I knew I was getting it at night. I don't have insurance so my doc told me to keep doing what I'm doing. To get proof I get afib, I ordered a heart monitor with 5 electrodes I could wear at night. I was waking up with afib(I can feel it in a big way) but I didn't know if I was having afib for 5 hours a night or 5 minutes a night. It turns out I'm only having afib 5 to 20 minutes a night. The monitor is not expensive, was only $300, you can down load the graph to your computer. I'm glad I bought it, now I can see what's going on whenever I want to.

      Are you hyperventilating? While I don't require an ASV machine and was at a steady pressure using CPAP; I have found that when I am not tired and would try to sleep against the higher pressure it could trigger afib. I changed to an APAP, with lower starting pressure since then. I realize that is not the same for you and centrals. I constantly fiddle with the titration and visit my sleep dr to confrim. I hope you are successful with your therapy.

    Thank you, Dr. Morales, for all that you do. I appreciate you very much. I did recently go through your Take Control Over AFib course, and I highly recommend it. The content is excellent and well-presented.
    I believe that AFib can be reversed through proper nutrition, quality supplements, and lifestyle changes. I saw a post yesterday in a Facebook group that I follow where someone has reversed her AFib through diet and supplements. I believe she said she was in persistent AFib and after going on an organic, whole foods diet, getting on quality supplements, and making lifestyle changes, she has been episode-free for at least two years.
    None of us developed AFib overnight, and we won’t reverse it overnight. It takes a strong commitment. You have been a great help and you have inspired me to keep going.

    • @Wunderdogg
      @Wunderdogg Рік тому +2

      There's plenty of protein in a plant based diet. Nuts, beans, seeds and even some greens can provide you with all the protein you need. Besides, you don't need to go 100% in. Small amounts of meat can greatly bolster your protein intake and improve food flavor and texture. I think most people just love their food addictions so much they're afraid to even consider change. Just above all avoid processed foods and cooking oils. Whole foods are the way to go, and that can include a little meat as in the Mediterranean diet. Avoid the white poisons, salt, sugar and flour and the foods that contain them.. That's the tough part for most people I think.
      The surprising thing for me was that no matter what dietary changes you make, you'll eventually come to like them. It's weird but true.
      If you're really interested in healing, look into intermittent fasting. Good luck!@@finnster5800

    Really enjoy your informative videos and interview with Dr. V. My para came on from a drastic low carb "keto" diet. Essentionally malnourishing myself and in addition too much hydration that wacked out my electrolytes. I reigned my diet in, incorporating IF 16:8, altered my lifestyle, dropping 151 lbs in the process. I then had an ablation. Was in nsr for one year, until I over-exercised during our hot Texas summer and got dehydrated. Self converted in ten minutes in ER. Then Oct, had another episode from low electrolytes. This time self converted after ER and hospital stay of 12 hrs. I have found my triggers to be: theobromine (Cacao), excess sodium, and electrolytes. I take eliquis (2x), metoprolol (2x), and magnesium glycinate (120x2). I feel so much better now however my goal is to drop another 70lbs. I started over 400lbs and at 6ft 3 it was just too much. I have another abaltion scheduled soon.

    Also... Mayo Clinic did a study that showed a correlation between hiatal hernia (common in overweight people) and afib. It would be interesting if those diagnosed with afib could be tested to see if it's caused by a sliding hh (when it slides rhrough diaphragm, it hits the back of the left atrium and can trigger afib). See Dr Gupta's video (he's a cardiologist at university in York, UK).

    Great video thank you. I am supposed to have an ablation but decided to try losing weight to see if it helped and give myself 6 months. So far have lost 6kg of the 20kg of my target plus using my treadmill for 1 hour a day. It is definitely working as my afib is not as frequent and the episodes are much less severe. I may still require an ablation but figure it will have a much better chance of being successful if I am healthier.
