Yes, I totally agree as well with the handgun theme on the back wall. Im glad you are doing some videos on the room set up, very interesting and informative
I agree that those walls are too busy with the rifles and handguns. I'd put all the handguns on both sides of the safe. That'll look much better! Amazing collection!! Thanks for the cool videos!!
My entire basement is my vault. I bought a $2000 vault door and built it into the frame and added a new ceiling in the basement that's reinforced concrete.
Awesome video! I built a vault room last year, but not to the scale that you have there. I modeled it after the vault room in John Wick 3 - Parabellum (Winston’s vault room). I wanted it to be a vault room/lounge/man cave. For lighting, I would encourage you to look at Phillips Hue lighting. I have their rope lighting hidden behind faux wood beams shining down on the walls. You can’t see the rope lighting, but you can easily change the intensity and color of the entire room, and change the appearance/mood of the whole room in seconds
Just one of your gun rooms is my wet dream and you have multiple rooms!!! My "collection" looks like a newb starter kit compared to this. I have to work my ass off and save just to get a new one once in a blue moon and that's as long as the wife and kids don't need anything first.
I like the idea of pistols on both sides of the safe. Yes, about more lighting in the front of the room. Always great to see what you thought of and great to pick up some new ideas.
Thanks for the video. I’m also about to design/build my third gun room (just starting design of home) I’ve also used the gallow tech and have found that to be the best product for me. I struggled what to do with the ammo, as I don’t really need/want a bunch of safes in a vault room. It makes sense for safety/insurace but it’s too much clutter aesthetically. I had forgotten about the echo, so thanks for reminding me about this! I’ll make sure to add that to my list. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome room! Ask the talented wife to find some fabric that’s the same color of the ceiling or in a pattern/color you can tolerate and make some panels with foam stuffing for the ceiling. They can be thin and will disappear to the eye.
You can add fabric covered acoustical panels which can be custom sized for the space. They work great to knock down sound and stop reverberation. I have installed them on many commercial buildings and churches and they work.
Love the vibe and the esthetics of the vault. As for the treatment, I’d consult with an acoustician that specializes in building recording studios as they’ll be able to map out and give you a plan of how to dampen the reverb and delay to get rid of any standing waves that could be plaguing the room and your future room using various acoustic panels of all shapes, sizes, and thickness. I used to intern at a recording studio in Atlanta, GA many years ago and the owner went to great lengths to isolate passing trains that would be going by his space. His method was to pack dried beach sand in the outter and inner concrete walls of his studio.
Excellent video! Hardly ever see anything about the construction of gun vaults. Demo Ranch/Abandoned Mansion showed his vault build. That was very educational. Perhaps you could video the building of this next vault.
Dividers sectioning off different groups to your liking. Also, you could do shallow shelves, and then you could do overhead lighting to focus on each piece. It would take up a bit more room, but if staggered and spaced correctly, it wouldn't take up a ton more room.
For my room I put fireproof/soundproof insulation in between the studs and ceiling, 1/8" thick expanded metal stapled to the wood studs, screwed 3/4" osb on the inside walls that had a fireproof coating on it and caulked all the seems.
How to build your dream vault room; first of all you must have a job that makes money like Escobar or ATM??? second you must live in country where is allowed by the law to have/carry a gun(pistol) and for more than that again lots of money and lots of connections. The golden rule: who has the gold makes the rules and can afford stuff like this :) Reality
Right giving us tips about how to do it and to keep insurance up when building a gun vault like dude I can't afford the safe let alone the rest. Kinda disconnected a bit I figure his friends are all rich too and live in a bubble a very comfortable cushy bubble.
Its 25k, my gun safe in my bedroom cost more and holds a lot less... A lot less...but it is also bulletproof up to .50 bmg, and while I have not tested it is grenade proof as well??!
1:41 oh I’m sure that’s everybody’s problem. When you’re getting a 3000 pound vault door better make sure it’s the right color. I think I’m gonna send mine back to Amazon.
My lottery winner dream gun vault is a 25x25 (interior after insulation and drywall) Gun vault/panic room built in the middle of a house like a bunker with vertical gun racks lining the entire interior so I can collect the service rifles (or modern clones) in their original issued configuration of about 10-20 different countries. It would be my military history reference collection so I'd have the flag of each nation represented on a rack above the rack itself. I'd go with the vertical muzzle up racks to fit as many as I could inside the space given.
Starting fresh on a vault in 2024: Would you prefer Gallow Tech or some form of a Slat Wall? Or, is there any other options you would recommend to consider? Appreciate any advice you might have.
Awsome gun room! I'm wondering whats is a good size gun room for someone with like 15 to 20 firearms(handgun to long rifle) and a place to work on those firearms like the rolling tool storage in the video! Thanks
Brother, since it looks so busy... I will happily take some of those guns to free up space lol, sorry had to say it lol. Awesome room, I can't wait to see what you do next.
Great video. I have to say, The Collector seems to be getting more comfortable talking at length on camera. It's fun to watch someone discuss something they're passionate about.
Have you considered any of the prefabricated concrete panels sold by safe and vault companies? They are mixed with fiberglass for elasticity and have ceramic ball bearings embedded in the concrete. As well as stainless steel shavings. That diebold vault door appears to be of the high end UL listed vault doors. The stainless should greatly resist thermal lances and other cutting methods.
The most humble gun Collector of all time, the man who understand how dangerous is a gun, not this clowns who play unsafe with guns and acting like they knew everything about guns
The stainless on the vault door would like cool if it had an "engine turning" finish and it hides fingerprints well. A tip for anyone thinking of using stainless.
Anyone notice the one gun that the opposite direction. Haha. Done by caliber and color would be pretty cool. Dark color to lighter color on the pistol wall. Something else that may be fun is a signal that a gun is off the rack. Like a garage where cars can know if there is empty space. I do like how each gun has its own magazine. What if the hooks had a mock magazine that you could hold the gun with. Maybe that’s how you could hide a sensor. For sound…. Behind the panels what about new acoustic panels? 1/2” thick that drummers use in a drum cage? Great video. Thanks for sharing.
What spacing did you put your studs at to get the wall gallowtech panels to be right on to mount them up? My vault is a tad narrower and about 5 feet shorter.
Your collection is so large and beautiful that I would suggest working with a professional interior decorator and a museum-type curator to design working layouts and informational exhibit types of organization and descriptions including why the guns were specifically chosen by you.
So it looks like you initially did the room with GallowTech in gun metal gray and then used Holdup Display's black walnut in the second "John Wick" room, is that correct? I have a 21 x 9 reinforced concrete vault room and I was leaning towards the Gallow but after seeing your Holdup Display wall (if that is in fact what it is) I'm now leaning in that direction. Does the Wick room in fact have Hold Up Display panels? Thanks for the help!
I did not buy anything from holdup display. The slat wall was bought from a store that sells fixtures for business. At the time we did this I do not think holdup display was around.
Yes people… You have to have money to do this. Many people don’t even own houses so I mean… Plan accordingly. If you don’t own a house and you don’t have a good paying job you’re not gonna afford a gun room. Is everyone rich enough to have this setup? No. But some people are doing well for themselves, maybe having a house built, and they can include the cost of setting up something like this in the home building cost. In general his tips are applicable to a lot of budgets. Use light colors, think about your lighting/ventilation, he gave a wall mounted option for displaying all the firearms, etc. You can apply these tips on a smaller scale and a smaller budget. You don’t necessarily need a bunker to make a gun room out of. It could just be a spare room of your house and you can slap a safe door on it. Is it gonna be 100% secure? No. But it would take at least a little time to bust through drywall and I would hope if you have a gun room that you have a security system so cops would be contacted the second your door is kicked in or a window is broken or opened or whatever. Point is the tips are scalable.
Dimensions?...I'm putting in an ICF "safe room" 10' x 20' w/ 9' ceilings...didn't want it feeling like a closet and it will double as a tornado shelter for family/guests It will have internet/cable. Hi; I enjoyed the video a lot. Nice work this vault. I think you are right to put all the handguns on the backwall. It realy is a little crowded. I am from the Netherlands. We are allowed only five guns here by law. You are so lucky to be abel to buy what ever you like. Please keep up with the nice video's. I like them a lot.
Being a man of modest means I have to say this blows my mind . When I see this set up I have to wonder how you keep all those guns from building up dust .

I’d put all the pistol’s on the back wall, but I’d do it from floor to ceiling wall to wall around the safe. If possible put some backlighting on the back of the safe.
Collector: You could easily put sound damping ceiling tiles in the existing room. They have Peel & Stick tiles that will go right on top of your existing ceiling. It's simple to do and doesn't require moving or removing your existing light fixtures.
Only thing different i would do if i was to make a vault room is add some storage for food and water, a bathroom , and a bunch of monitors for security cameras, cpu, also have a starlink set up for internet. So if anything was to happen its could also serve as a bunker/safe room. This room would be set up on its own stand alone systems. Like ventilation and power, also have its own dedicated generator.
First time catching this channel and I’m starting to feel like my little 12 gun safe along with its contents and external stickers, are not as cool as I once thought they were.. but that could be a good thing!☝️
What about some high end sound deadening panels like you would see in a concert hall that would be colored to match the walls to address the eco. I would go with pistols on the back wall.
You'd think a store selling safes wouldn't be asking 'why' you want to do business with them. One, three, ten, what's the big deal as long as they're being paid for? I'm happy you're partnered with someone who's open minded and supportive to a hobby. There are so many henpecked guys in this country who need to ask their wives permission to do things in their own homes. There's a good balance with you two. Your upstairs (via tour) looked really nice with your stuff here and her stuff there instead of 90% her décor and you having one small room to yourself... or a single shed.

LED light strips built in the floor to help light up the walls with the collection. Good Job with organizing and the layout 👏
I don't know. I like his other rooms better.
