Thank you for posting this - This just popped into my head after not hearing it for over 20 years and I remembered every bit of it. I used to play these 3 songs over and over as a teenager, and wondered if I would ever find them again.
I bought this on vinyl when it came out, I was 11 and would sit in front of my parent's stereo and play these three songs...I've still got that album and it remains one of my favorites to this day. Some great memories and what a great album, especially the trilogy, here.
i used to go see a Friends Band.(1995) called Blue monday. & hang out with them by the 3rd time i said what is that song? its awsome, i thought it was something they wrote at First. he said sammy Hagar, so i couldn't find or didn't know of any sammy song called valley of the kings. anyway a few yrs ago i searched it & its a Great song. & yes UA-cam is a Great source to check out Old song you haven't heard or forgot about, theres so many on here. ive only come across 2 songs that i couldn't find
Used to play "Top of the Rock & Missing you," off this lp in a club band but liked to jam this tune with a buddy Joe from Rhode Island. Heavy stuff for the Virgin pop ears here in Southeastern Alaska
I bought this album simply cause Shrieve & Schon were back together---then I put it on the turntable (when was the last time we heard that phrase?) and damn what a album!!!
@@fernandes5986 ever since you came, what will never be, through the eyes of love, and hope and fear....all awesome tunes. There's a couple more too that are solid.
@@jeffroegner1499 I've heard them all and they are great. There's even one of those tunes, I believe it's Ever since you came, that sounds too much like Rush.
To me this is Schon's and Hagar's best work. It feels totally organic and natural, and the live sound of the theater recording is extra special.
Agreed.
And the 4 best songs of the concert never made the album.
Dont forget the thunderous rythm section of Michael Schreive's drumming and Kenny Aaronson's earth shattering lines!!
@@NikkieRoxxx... Kenny just killed it!!!
Spot on perfect great collaboration!
I have listened to this trio of songs so damn often. What an underrated band. Hagar's vocals and Schon's chops go so damn well together.

YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE best Super Group ever in the 80's.
That's a bold statement..... and quite possibly true!!!!
I'm a Schon nerd but for me the The best Super Group of the 80's was Hughes and Thrall
I wish I could still find this CD. To me this is Sammy Hagar at his best.
i actually just found this album on vinyl...i have heard of them, but do you know if it was a good find?
I found a copy at a local gas station and in bargain bins in grocery stores
If you're still looking, it looks like it's pretty readily available on Amazon in both cd and lp, as well as bestbuy.Com, all at pretty good prices.
Thanks a lot. I,ll definitely be searching.
i have it on cassette
Thanks for uploading this combo - which should never be seperated!!!
(it needs the low end pumped up a bit)
Gives me goosebumps when this track blasts... had this on vinyl when it first came out... still rocks 36 years later!

this is what you get when you marry old Journey with Sammy Hagar. i am really surprised that this combination didn't produce more hits.
I used to play these three songs endlessly on my walkman
Me too lol.

this record is all about feel.
I wore the cassette out back in the day. Bought in on CD a few years ago...love it!!
One of the Ten Best Rock Albums
Great suite. I had never made the effort to listen to this. Something unique in Sammy's song history.
Saw this on mtv bought the album still have it. The best mike Shreves hard hitting the drums incredible at the beginning followed by shaws guitar wow
To me the best guitar sound to Hagar voice is is Schon not van halen or satriani ..this song or the three of them is some of there best work ever
+Eric Nelson Neal also did some nice work w/Automatic Man, in case you've never heard of them. Check them out, too.
Your comment totally makes sense!
