    Note: I mention you must advance after combat after winning a battle. This is incorrect. Advance after combat is optional.

    Thanks, nice example. As I was following along though with the Player's Aid, I think you were forgetting the -2 for Reduced units which would have shifted some of those Polish rolls down.

    Interesting how Warsaw is put on the east side of the Vistual/Bug river joint ... compared to World In Flames where it's on the west side.
    The city center of Warsaw is actually on the west side, but I guess there could be made arguments for both.

    • @Demicleas
      @Demicleas 3 роки тому

      I'm guessing they did that to make it more harder to take Warsaw for more challenge.

    Great video series! So, can National Will be regained?

    • @5ingle5hot
      @5ingle5hot 10 років тому +1

      Yes, when your cities are liberated you regain National Will (NW). Additionally, the Axis gain NW whenever the UK, USSR, or USA collapses. The Soviets gain NW whenever a country cedes territory to them.

    Very interesting game. But is there also a video explaining the game without going into al the details that you cannot do, but just the ones that are relevant?

    Are those the stock counters that come with the game? They look chromed and plastic. Beautiful :)

    • @CounterAttack
      @CounterAttack  6 років тому +1

      They are stock counters except for the corner rounding. I used a 2mm corner rounder on them, which also tends to give them a slight curved bevel that reflects light more than a sharp edge.

    At 20:27, the Polish unit does not receive a positive die-roll modifier for defending in a city. Really?! Doesn't that go against the grain à la Stalingrad? Intuitively, shouldn't defending in a city grant a huge advantage to the defender? Without understanding more of the game, it doesn't seem to make sense. The extra 2 move points for attacking into a city, expended by the German attacking unit, doesn't seem to me to account for the very significant advantage of the Polish unit defending in a city.

    • @CounterAttack
      @CounterAttack  4 роки тому +1

      It's been a long time since I made this video. It's quite possible I just made an error. The most current player aid has a -1 combat modifier for cities.

    This is a great game! The only thing that is in my opinion not realistic is that after 2 turns your eliminated armies get rebuilt. If you produce a certain amount of men, but you lose many of your existing manpower because they are destroyed you have a disadvantage, not that you say "oh are armies are destroyed, now we are producing a lot of men to replace them." Anyway, are you also going to do the 1941 USSR scenario? I find it really difficult for Germany to beat the Russians, I never get to Moscow, especially with those rebuilt destroyed armies! I want to know how you deal with this.

    • @CounterAttack
      @CounterAttack  4 роки тому

      I have so many games on the list but I would like to break this one back out. I feel that historically there wasn't a big manpower shortage except for maybe late war Germany where they were scraping the barrel, so maybe the manpower issue isn't too off from reality?

    • @victoryfirst06
      @victoryfirst06 3 роки тому

      @@CounterAttack Yeah, but if half of your army of 2 million man are emcircled and destroyed, you don't rebuild that army in 2 turns (unless you are the soviet union...), but you follow your amount of manpower, and production limits. Ukraine 43' did this more realistic, you get a bunch of replacements, and these can be used to rebuild destroyed armies, but at the cost of having still weak units in the field. That's realistic. Here it is a bit exaggerated.

    8 to 10 movement ratio, infantry to armor? Should be about 1 to 2 ratio
