In this video I talk about how Jay Morrison used emotions to raise money for the Tulsa Real Estate Fund TREF.
I never received a penny from the Tulsa fund. I was never on the board, I have no inside information.
Jay was interviewed on my platform and I spoke at one of his events. I’ve spoken at thousands of events and interviewers hundreds of people.
I invested $10,000 in the fund and lost all of my money like a lot of investors. These are the facts. I also give no investing advice on my platform and say this every single day.
Don’t invest in anything if you are not prepared to lose money. Period.

Based on all the information I have gathered about Jay from his close associates and former business partners, he is very sketchy to say the least. You like many investors may have invested or supported because of the perception of black unity, I don’t know. But I would not risk my reputation for a guy like Jay Morrison.
I'm surprised you did not vet Jay. I did and he was a giant red flag from the gate. You lost a lot of credibility.
"I give no investing advice". There's literally video of you encouraging people to invest in Jay Morrison's fund.
How does a PhD in Finance give someone the mindset to invest in a fund they know nothing about or have not researched?? Make it make sense..
A family member told me a bout Jay 7 years ago. Once I saw him at a church service saying, “I sold drugs, if a felon can get out and turn his life around u can too!” I knew it was the typical redemption hustle 😂

I actually met Boyce once when he came to Atlanta back in 2016. I went to a couple corner classes that Jay hosted in Atlanta. Something told me not to give my money to them and I’m so glad I didn’t!

I think I was 1 of the 1st early set of people the Tulsa fund emailed about investing. Because I having been trading stocks for decades, I'm use to reading a Prospectus. When I read the fine print, I could NOT see how the fund was gonna make ANY money! In fact, at best, I could ONLY see where IF you invested $500, you would be lucky to get back $25 in about 2yrs! Then, I saw paper work where they supposedly were thinking about spending MILLIONS to buy a small, less than 30rms hotel in some city in the mid west that I NEVER heard of, THAT'S when I KNEW nobody was ever gonna make any money investing in this.🙄
In a lot of these cases it seems that the scammer could have actually made money by investing the money properly but they are so caught in getting over on people.

Jay didn’t mislead anyone. He laid the terms out plainly with the high fees, absolutely no plan, and him full control of his slush fund. People literally paid Jay to spend their money.
You are right I had no plans to invest in the fund. It was clear to a lot of people how the story would end.
He did mislead people, he told everyone who would use the money to by income producing properties and be a good fiduciary with the $$ people invested to try to get 8% ROI plus 50% profits.
The Fees were stated as well, but he did mislead people about his intentions.
The devil was in the details and small print.

I knew it was money grab when I first found out about it years ago! I put my money in Fidelity & Vanguard index funds that are sitting pretty...that can't be said about TRF! DO NOT INVEST IN ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT HAVE A 10 YEAR AVERAGE RETURNS GREATER THAN 10%!

I suggest everyone that lost money in the Tulsa fund pool their resources and file a class action suite against Jay Morrison, Boyce Watkins, and anyone else that PROMOTED it as a good investment. All of the celebrities that promoted the failed Crypto scheme were sued so these guys should be sued too. Those who file first in a class action get to recover the most of their losses.

It’s a combination of the emotions and the deception. These people do a great mimicking an expert and a trust worthy person. We have been conditioned to believe the way they speak and the polish they have is one to trust. When we have so many examples of shady characters who speak well, dressed well and have money but are crooked as can be. Whether that be in politics, finances, business or real estate. While emotions are involved we have to really look at these people as wolves in sheep’s clothing. We have to be trained in vetting beyond surface. Knowledge in and of itself self is neutral. It comes down to the reason why people share it. Knowledge has always been weaponized against those who don’t know it’s the American Way. That’s why we need to redefine our dreams if we don’t agree with exploitation as a means upward mobility.

People that couldn't see Jay Morrison was shady weren't being discerning in their judgement. They took that faux, started from the bottom and had many bumps and bruises testimonial as verification that he wasn't going to look out for only himself. And you could clearly see the winds dramatically change when his wife came in the picture. It's a sad situation because he could made some noise if he had truly done what he portrayed himself to be.
He wasn't the 1st person to take advantage of Black folks with some Black unity messages. And he won't be the last. B Watkins is culpable imo, for co-signing and I wouldn't put it past them to have been in cahoots or have some kind of (financial) quid pro quo situation. But he has at least clearly implied "I do this for the money, period".

I don't know what happened with this. I can't say that I ever really trust him. But I can say that funds do go under without their being fraud. find out what happened. Just because a fund or business goes bankrupt doesn't mean it was fraudulent. find out for sure

This is almost criminal. Morrison could have diversified his $12 million dollars in fixed income assets, and other investment products. CDs were paying up to 6%, and Amazon and Google split. There were so many opportunities to create a solid portfolio with more than real estate. Did Jay buy any property in Tulsa? Just asking. Boyce has a PHD in finance, surely, he has some knowledge about business and finance?

In my opinion Boyce did endorse this fund. Seems like he wants to ignore what happened. It’s funny how a guy with a PHD in finance and claims him and Jay Morrison are really good friends didn’t talk about the TREF financial reports. Kinda looks like they were both in on it.
