Thanks for showing your "struggles ". At least you're brave enough to try and share it with us. I have two unused wheels and they just intimidate me. Am at a point that I think im too old to learn and just want to sell and move on. After seeing your video I might give it a try though. Someday. Keep spinning. Evelyne 😊❤
Thank you so much for your comment, Evelyne! This is exactly why I want to share my spinning journey because I found/find it so intimidating! For something so simple it is incredibly difficult, lol. But that makes it very rewarding and beautiful too! I encourage you to put on your favorite music and try for 15 minutes. Then give yourself a little treat after (I'm partial to cookie dough bites :D ). You'd be amazed at what you can do, it is never too late to follow your interests!
Hi. Hold the roving in your left hand gently. You will make drafting harder if you have a death grip on it. If the yarn is getting pulled out of your hand too quickly loosen the wheels tension rather than tighten your grip. If it’s not going onto the bobbin and is over twisting tighten the wheels tension just a little.
Thanks for the tips! I switched over to left handed drafting pretty quickly; don’t know what I was thinking originally! 😅 That’s helpful for tension! That’s definitely where I struggle so those are good tips for me to remember!
I remember trying to learn how to spin the first time. My wheel came with instructions, but they were in Polish. I speak English and conversational Spanish.

That’s a great story! Sometimes you just got to figure it out on your own. I think you get a better understanding of it that way.
Have you checked the little piece of felt under the tension block? You can find help on the spinolution ravelry group
I haven’t yet. Thanks for the tip!
