If it has flat top pistons (depends year) then they are 30 more horse. Does the head have an X stamped on it? In between the plugs. If so it’s a X Rotax 670 HO

Plus, I've studded up some tires, and on more or less plowed roads, she'll do fine in the snow. I might even use the fuel tank from the sled as well, might have to adjust the location of the steering column bracket though. Do you know of a link to a factory service manual? I wanna do this right. Thankyou
Quite a few of us southern boys have experienced 2-stroke street bikes of the 60' and 70's eras. 2-5 gears weren't really needed to scare the crap outa us. I soft touched a shifter without letting loose of the throttle between 4 & 5 on a 750 and hit the power band and 5th at the same time. Front tire didn't touch pavement for some time. Never rode it again. Maybe taking the transmission out of it will help, but the powerband is yet to be determined. Better buy some brown pants boys.

You guys need to build the most badass clutch guard you've ever built. When those belts and or clutches fail, it is very violent. I would look into high pressure air tanks or something similar that would wrap around the end of that clutch. The factory guard is not stout enough for my taste where your arm is basically resting right on top of it. When it's under the hood there is a little distance between you and the action.
Thats not a horrible idea in theory but makin it adapt to the jetski might be really difficult if not impossible, lot of those old jet ski you find a wrecked one of the same model year range with the bigger motor, it will just bolt right in to your jetski that has smaller motor
Cvt is going to be way worse!! You can also need to build a ginormous clutch guard!! You can also tune the primary clutch so it engages in different rpms, I know a lot about this sleds!! Great vids!!
It's a Good thing you got a smaller snowmobile engine cause taking all that power that is usually required to push the machine through SNOW where there is a LOT of resistance and putting it on 4 rubber tires on a surface that offers VERY LITTLE resistance that motor could tear body parts off from just the STRAIGHT LINE speed say nothing about the losses if you try to turn or accidently roll the machine GOOD LUCK and BE CAREFUL

Im so exited to see this build guys! i have a 700 summit skidoo with a 670 under the hood and those motors have some ridiculous power! I did a 5 second pull on a lake and i got it up to 75 mph so good luck and please be careful with this project, that motor has a lot of horses in it.
Really good engine used for many years. The primary clutch is adjustable with the little bolts. You can modify the rotary valve to get more power and should probably get the 440 mixed oil kit for the race sled. I had a 94 #canada

i'm glad you put it on that cart, you are right it will be easy to drive. people are thinking you go full throttle all the time. it will definitely be controllable. but also it will haul a*s when you hammer the throttle down.
Thats a real racing go cart, i think they are all heavier? I had a margay i think it was when i was like 5. Dad had to shorten pedals over half way. It had slicks on it and barely cleared the shale in the driveway. I have fond memories going full speed and spinning donuts in the driveway.

Just an idea guys, but why not stretch the kart a foot? Chop it in the middle, weld some pipe in with plugs to keep strength. You’ll be able to put the engine more into the center of the kart and a little behind you effectively centering the weight ( about your 4-5 o’clock position from the seat as far as engine placement). Also you’d make it a bit more stable and manageable at higher speeds with it being a bit longer. Excited to see what you guys do. Love the builds. Thanks guys. Big love from Nebraska
I love all the videos Ike and John make. Would like to see them do another 4wheeler with a 212 on it. This is how I did my Yamaha blaster. Flipped the axle removed the rear disc and put on a 420 chain and sprocket with a torque converter.
Once you get it dialed in, you're in for a wicked ride guys. I can't wait. It's going to be a handful 🤣😁👍 WHEELIES🤘🤘 and fried tires. Make sure your belt/clutch guard is substantial. Also clean the exhaust valves.
