I'm considering setting up something to use the skis on the kart for winter. Plus, I've studded up some tires, and on more or less plowed roads, she'll do fine in the snow. I might even use the fuel tank from the sled as well, might have to adjust the location of the steering column bracket though.
Do you know of a link to a factory service manual?

Quite a few of us southern boys have experienced 2-stroke street bikes of the 60' and 70's eras. 2-5 gears weren't really needed to scare the crap outa us. I soft touched a shifter without letting loose of the throttle between 4 & 5 on a 750 and hit the power band and 5th at the same time. Front tire didn't touch pavement for some time. Never rode it again. Maybe taking the transmission out of it will help, but the powerband is yet to be determined. Better buy some brown pants boys.

You guys need to build the most badass clutch guard you've ever built. When those belts and or clutches fail, it is very violent. I would look into high pressure air tanks or something similar that would wrap around the end of that clutch. The factory guard is not stout enough for my taste where your arm is basically resting right on top of it. When it's under the hood there is a little distance between you and the action.

It's a Good thing you got a smaller snowmobile engine cause taking all that power that is usually required to push the machine through SNOW where there is a LOT of resistance and putting it on 4 rubber tires on a surface that offers VERY LITTLE resistance that motor could tear body parts off from just the STRAIGHT LINE speed say nothing about the losses if you try to turn or accidently roll the machine GOOD LUCK and BE CAREFUL

Just an idea guys, but why not stretch the kart a foot? Chop it in the middle, weld some pipe in with plugs to keep strength. You’ll be able to put the engine more into the center of the kart and a little behind you effectively centering the weight ( about your 4-5 o’clock position from the seat as far as engine placement). Also you’d make it a bit more stable and manageable at higher speeds with it being a bit longer.
Excited to see what you guys do. Love the builds. Thanks guys.
    Big love from Nebraska

I love all the videos Ike and John make. Would like to see them do another 4wheeler with a 212 on it. This is how I did my Yamaha blaster. Flipped the axle removed the rear disc and put on a 420 chain and sprocket with a torque converter.

Make sure your belt/clutch guard is substantial. Also clean the exhaust valves.
