may be a trapdoor above those workstations maybe, cause sometimes you want to break the workstation to renew the trade until you get something you want without the villager escaping. But maybe only for the librarian:D
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that if you place slabs in-between the villagers instead of full blocks they will communicate meaning that they will either tell the other villagers to lower/higher their trades whether you did something good to them such as curing or trading
@@NotSecps i mean its true that if you hit a villager the rest that saw you are going to higher their prices, so it would make sense for the opposite. I also think I have seen this being discussed on other trading hall tutorials and I have tried it myself and it works
Also, a tip: If you don't have a name tag, give a zombie an item (like a stick or dirt block or anything). If it picks it up, you can then follow the same steps to lure the zombie into the hall and it won't despawn. If not, just kill it and try to find another persistent zombie.
One thing me and a friend found out if the zombie wont attack the villager sometimes the zombie might be aggro onto you so just walk away until the zombie turns on the villager. Worked for us
You could replace the blocks next to the villagers to slabs so that you could splash one potion for every 4 villagers. Note that you need to get out of the zombie’s view so that he could aggro on the 4 villagers.
Great tutorial! Make sure when you are getting the villagers inside their stations that there’s no stations near the build, as they will go towards that and not the trading hall.
Great villager trading hall! But I think you can actually save a redstone dust per module by placing only one under the lever and placing a solid block between it and the piston.
Aww man, just yesterday I created an original design for a villager trading hall with much difficulty and it was also inefficient (the zombie took long to pathfind to the villager). If only I knew that Voltrox was going to post an amazing VILLAGER trading hall just the next day! Anyways, now I'm going to modify that design with tips from these. Thanks!
I used to not like this style of villager trading hall as the constant zombie noises used to annoy the crap out of me... Then I discovered vanilla tweaks and added "quiter zombies" to the pack I downloaded. Just a tip, the splash potion will hit three villagers at a time so zombify 3 at once before you toss it. Or use arrows dipped in a couldron to save on potions.
@@Voltrox lol yeah, but then zombies get the jump on you out in the world after that. On the upside, once you have one side all set in your trading hall you can move the zombie or just kill him off.
I build this in every survival i play, just bigger - i have 12 villagers long hall 4 times next to each other (some distance so you can walk there), it's like villager and from the other side the other villager, making 1 zombie usable for 24 villagers instead of 12 (you need to build a 2 block wide tunnel for the zombie to fit 2 trapdoors) and these 2 rows of 12 villagers from both side i have 2 times. and i put rails over the roof so i can put villagers from a breeder there :D it's more expensive(materials) but you can fit there every enchantment book you need (24 - yea i put unnecessary books there but i like to have every in case i lose my tools and armor so i can easily make it again) and the rest is every other type of villager twice. You just need more zombies (i think maybe 1 or 2 in every row of 24 villagers which is 12 villagers long) because they don't notice villagers on a long distance) And you don't have to give the zombies a nametag, just find a zombie who can pick up a random item(give him dirt for example) //just a tip cuz nametags are expensive without a villager hall :D (The same system of villager hall as in the video, only if you need more villagers the easiest way) :D
I've done something similar, but in my 2 wide tunnel the Zombie I put there seems to bug out and miss his hits on my villagers (slight spazzing up and down with the top of its head in the block above), if I put a new zombie in they kill one villager then bug out the same way trying to get the same villager even if its already turned into a zombie villager and missing all its hits. Weird as bug, did that happen to you? Do you know what causes it or how ti fix it?
Tip:if you don't have nametag or you don't want to give something to zombie(for some reason) you could just use a zombie for atleast one zombyfying(correct me if error)for librarian, do dupe trading(bookshelves, books),and you'll get him to expert easily,it wil take timr tho
extra tip, put slabs between the villagers so they communicate with others, and if you can't get a nametag, make a zombie hold a block so it will never despawn,
one more thing, when placing slabs between the villagers, with a crossbkw with piercing, you'll be able to shoot alot more villagers with a weakness arrow which can be found from fletcher trading, though it is rare,
thats good but i would suggest putting a trapdoor over the work station and if a raid or night comes just close the trap doors and so u can change it for better trades but besides that very good
There is another easy way to put the villagers in their own workstation. Place a bed on top of each hole where the villager can go inside and bring your villagers and wait till night and then the villagers will automatically go to the bed and then you can easily break the bed so that the villager gets trapped in their place.
be careful guys, you don't want baby zombies getting in and infecting your villagers, make sure that this trading hall is off the ground and well lit and it should be good
Update: my villagers are also turning into zombies, the issue was that if you dont protect the front of the trading hall, other zombies can attack them during the night Fixed by building a box around the area
thanks it is awesome, you made complicate thing, so easy to digest and apply, which simply means unlock game for me, otherwise i wouldn't do it something so complex (no way i open wiki and read and try to figure things out, this is gaming not coding lol)
PS: If your having trouble with zombies coming up to the villagers and killing them, put blocks inbetween the workstations and above and that should fix it
I'm not that experienced trader, what I usually do - lock and extend the house with 2 villagers, feed them to breed and add beds, make 20-25 villagers this way, about 18 librarians (for different enchantments ) and the rest cartographer (for emeralds for sand(glass)). But what I noticed, if a villagers that are outside got stuck in trapdoor area where I keep cows and don't go sleeping they never restock - the red cross never goes away. Isn't it an issue with this farm? Don't villagers need to sleep for restocking? I'm playing java.
I built like 50 of these cells without realizing that I put the zombie one block too low. I thought the zombie would just nibble at the villager's feet. But no, the zombie won't attack them.
You could try removing the workstation, using a minecart with rails to push the villager into place, then put the workstation back. A bit more effort, but you won't have to worry about villager pathfinding. That is how I used to do it.
Tip- if you don't have a name tag than make that zombie pick your armour. (only some zombies will pick items. set game to hard mode for increased chances) otherwise great farm
Easy tutorial to follow and looks really good but does this work in java and do you really need to put the gamemode on hard. And if you need to and your in a multiplayer server does that change a lot or it doesnt

yes very good tip!
Keep in mind that if you put trapdoors before you drop the villagers in, they’ll stand on the dirt blocks above like they have no clue what’s going on
Thanks for the tip😁
it would also stop baby zombies attacking the villager
You could use more pistons under the workstations so you don’t have to break it they have to be sticky pistons tho
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that if you place slabs in-between the villagers instead of full blocks they will communicate meaning that they will either tell the other villagers to lower/higher their trades whether you did something good to them such as curing or trading
