Very good video. I'd like to learn more about growing tomatillo plants. Maybe you would be interested in making a video on the differences between growing tomatillos and tomatoes, including seeding, pruning, fertilizing and propagating. Was part 2 posted?
Any new videos coming out soon?

I once had a tomatillo plant which split into four braches ant the first junction. to got so heavy and full of fruit that it split the stalk in four. they continued to grow while laying on the ground. I ended up getting about 20lbs from the plant

Lovely video! I love to grow tomatillos too! What area do you live in? I've always been curious if our season is long/hot enough for me to grow tomatoes or tomatillos from cuttings and still get a good harvest. I am in Western Washington, so we have a good length growing season, but a lot of it is mild temps and wet!

I understand the premise behind trimming back your tomato and tomatillo plants, but how do you know you’re not causing damage to your plants? I’ve always pinched off the suckers, as well as the lower leaves on my tomato plants, but never trimmed off the lower branches. I watched several video’s recently where they encouraged this, but when I carefully repeated this on my tomato plants I ended up stunting the growth and caused the leaves to become leathery. I’m so afraid to cut back my tomatillo plants now. How do you know it’s safe to cut off a branch to redirect the growth?

Yes, do it!! Make sure you plant then in 2's so they can pollinate each other.

At 2:36 how did you know that was a sucker? It wasn’t between the main stem and a leaf branch

do you ever "string up" your tomatillos instead of stakes?

I tried doing that and man they grew so fast that I was out there redoing it weekly..I switched to 1x2x8 firring strips.. them I single stem them..sooo much better for me..but I love how different people do different things. Keep growing brother.

That tomatillo hasn't got a deformaty thats a natural bifurcation. tomatillos always bifurcate twice creating four stems.
