- Garrett Gurthie is one of the farthest-throwing disc golfers in the world, but that doesn’t mean his bag is full of max-weight meat hooks. In fact, Garrett loves High-speed drivers in lighter weights. He relies on the Sonic, one of Innova’s touchiest approach discs. And spoiler alert! This year, GG is bagging the Rollo. Listen to Garrett breakdown what he’s throwing and why in 2024. On the personal side, GG tells the story of proposing to Innova Teammate and now fiancé, Jessica Weese, last year in Norway at a location that sounds truly spectacular.

Hey Innova, do yourselves a favor and come out with a Calvin-eagle
Calvin seemingly is there to sell millennium disc. Instead of flat top firebird's he throws dracos, instead of making 11 time eagles he has his vela's, which I think are phenomenal

Or just make some more star eagles that aren't INNvison star
@@ThePlanetNamik what I heard was the infinite Exodus was an eagle l, and that the vela was a flat topped eagle x. However, not everything you hear from disc golf bros is true, so it very well could be the eagle L. Either way, eagles fly good
I'm glad he talked about lightweight fairways and drivers. Those have been a game changer for my bag!

His putt is pretty unique - lots of hyzer obviously. Maybe the 4 speed lets them get there a bit faster instead of hyzering out or something? I knew of a old school MPO player who was solid who used a 5 speed even. Guess GG doesn't want to reinvent his putt at this point so if it works it works.

Star TL3s are criminally underrated. I had one on my shelf for a couple years then finally bagged it after trying it for a particular wooded tunnel shot. I can't play a game without the TL3 now.

I want a gg sonic. Found a dx sonic in the used bin, and it was an absolute game changer for me. The numbers were so weird I had to get it, and it is the definition of a utility disc…. Until I start putting with it, because sometimes that’s just how it goes.

This dude has one of the most unique releases in all of Disc Golf. It doesn't look super mechanically sound but it obviously works great for him. Interesting bag to say the least!

I’ve never thrown the bulldog. I putt with colts and wedges. How does the midrange putt?
It’s basically an Aviar top with a Pig bottom. No idea why they give it a 4 speed lol
I don't think I've seen another pro bag as many big-name tour series models. But then those Firebirds, Destroyers, and Wraiths would find a place in any pros bag.

I’m surprised to hear that he uses the TL3 for only up to 400. I’ll use it for up to around 420 and I can throw nowhere near as far as him!
