Actually these are ex-Metrolink coaches. They used to be owned by Metrolink in Southern California and since Metrolink had rotem Cars they sold some of their bombardier cars to Caltrain here in the San Francisco Bay Area to be used on Caltrain commuter trains between San Francisco and San Jose.
I miss riding on Caltrain, BART, AC transit and VTA when I used to visit the Bay Area. I hope I get the chance to visit soon.

Yes thats true, but there are a lot of parts of the Peninsula Corridor where they have to decrease speed down like 50-60 mph.
