Great video, the snow is beautiful. Needle book is adorable. I love to make them and small project envelopes from my small cross stitch and quilt blocks.
I so admire your patience in doing the hand sewing. Very relaxing watching you stitch and the stars are beautiful. I have tried paper piecing and although it is rewarding I lack the patience in my “golden” years. My sewing machine is my best friend in my quilting projects now. Thank you for sharing. 🪡🧵😻
@@debbiereynolds9276 Thanks Debbie! My sewing machines are still my buddies too! I’m a technology girl so I have all the gadgets. There is something freeing though about being able to put everything you need in a pocketbook and sewing wherever your heart takes you.
I'm so glad it brightens your days! Truth be told, part of doing this is to remind myself how much I’ve always loved the season, and to document for my kids.
Lori,, new starts are beautiful loved the needle book how gorgeous ❣️ thanks for putting together another video stars truly are amazing ‼️Cedar plank is a beautiful color back in the day I only stitched on Lakeside still my favorite I too have a bit stashed away 🥰 Feel better, take time to rest….🤗
First of all, I hope you are feeling better and not getting sick. Rest and kitty snuggles may help you feel better. You did a great job with your tutorial. This process looks so relaxing and rewarding. It’s nice to see how these beautiful stars are created. The needle book is a perfect place to showcase this design. Thanks so much. I really enjoy my time with you.❤️
Your video was wonderful!! I have cross stitched for years and love sewing and now see quilting in my future. Thanks for the lesson on star making. You are a very good teacher. Loved the needle book and love your houses. Are the log cabins also Harold Turpin? They are all adorable. ❤❤
I admire your patience to handstitch quilt pieces. I've kind of lost my quilting mojo but I'm told it will come back. i certainly hope so as I have a room full of beautiful fabric and patterns.
I find lots of them inspiration in my bundles of fabric and patterns. Sometimes you just need to sit down and spread them out all around you and just plan.
I appreciate all the effort you are putting into your Vlogmas! So sorry you aren't feeling your best. Sending you wishes for a quick recovery. The blocks you are making are just beautiful and will make an amazing quilt!
Some people just have a knack for tutorials...saying the tips and tricks and important info at the right times and number of times. You definitely have that talent. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. 😊
Most adorable needlebook. You inspired me to get the Giant Vintage Star quilt pattern. As soon as the Jingle Ball is complete and ornaments with deadlines, I am going to put one of these quilts together for a friend’s birthday. You need to stop inspiring me.
So excited you tried my suggestion! I love this method. Yes, a smaller cutter will make life easier. The other thing I like to use is Grippy, a spray to make your templates have a grip similar to Invisagrip. Since these pieces ate so small, the spray works great. The template doesn't slip around when cutting or drawing the lines inside. 😊
Another great tutorial! Thank you for taking the time during the busy holiday season to share your knowledge (and tips learned through experience) with us.
Thank you for the amazing tutorial!! The intersection of the points on the back seemed so scary before but now it looks manageable. So excited to put this on my 2025 to make list. Thanks again❤
Thank you so much for the tutorial!!! I don’t quilt but I really want to try this and see where it goes! Ha ha Look forward to seeing you each day!!😁❤️
Wonderful video with the perfect sight of view. It was relaxing watching you stitch. The star turned out just wonderful!!! The needle book is so sweet and would make perfect gifts for quilters/stitchers. The scenery around your home is gorgeous!! So fun!!!!

The view of the scenery was amazing. Loved watching you sewing your quilt. You make it look so easy and I know it's not for me. Your needle book was beautiful. See you tomorrow.
Thank you so much, this was great. I would definitely love to have you explain how to get some of those seams as flat as possible. I’m new to taking quilts to a longarmer and had been wondering about some of the seams.
Hi Lori, what a great tutorial! Your camera angle was perfect, but I know how hard it is to record something with your arms wrapped around the tripod, so when I saw one on Amazon with a 14 inch gooseneck so you can set it on the floor next to you and record what's in your lap, I bought it. Since I haven't used it yet, I can't say how well it works. It was only $25 so if it doesn't work as hoped, I didn't spend a bunch. The brand is VICTIV. You mentioned again about being frugal with your fabric as you did in yesterday's video when you showed your narrow margins on a cross stitch. I'm the same way. Pillows only need a quarter inch seam, so an inch margin is plenty. I had a UA-cam channel under a different user name for several years and quit in 2020, so I have all the video equipment and editing knowledge I need, so I'm planning to start a flosstube after I get settled into my new home after the first of the year. I have missed it.
Another great video. You’ve got me convinced that after Christmas, as we settle into deep winter, I need to start a hexagon star project. I’m sure I’ll refer back to this tutorial often. Liked your sample star made into the needle book. Take care!
Thank you for the up close demo Lori. It was great to see. Love the needlebook. You've probably talked about it before but I missed it, but I would love to know more about the red floral quilt with the appliques on it that you showed in the beginning. It's gorgeous. Happy Stitching!
Thank you for the demo. I have used a sandpaper topped board under any pieces I need to mark. It grips the fabric so it doesn’t distort during marking. I know you can buy premade ones, but I took a full piece of fine grit sandpaper and glued it to a sturdy piece of cardboard. It has lasted for years. Hopefully the bug will go away. You have too many preparations to be ill.
Definitely the Cedar Plank! Your red stars are so beautiful!
