Firstly, Aston Villas style of play is not possession so that arguement isnt valid. Secondly, statistically Villa created more xG and had a equal amount of big chances, along with more shots in the box and total shots.

So much salt. 🤣 Had Watkins put that chance away VAR would likely have spotted Gabriel clearly being grabbed and pulled back while trying to get the ball back so it shouldn't have counted anyway. And the Watkins' header was simply a great save by Raya.
Watkins was supposed to head that into the bottom corner. Keeper was already on the ground and he had all day to place the header.

But you guys are forgetting that before Watkins missing that first chance, he was hardly in the game because the Arsenal defence had given Villa nothing until Gabriel messed up. The chance came too soon for Watkins, and he rushed it. For that gilt edged chance, give credit to the Arsenal holding them at bay and limiting the chances.
Martinez should have saved his ball and Watkins should have scored. That is how impotent of ideas you lots have. Partey should not have scored and Raya should not have saved. From the beginning of the game, Villa struggled to get up to 35% of the possession and had 3 shots on goal which was less than Arsenal's, with a pass accuracy of 81% against Arsenal's 92% but they were the better side. You clowns will continue like this for another 36 or more weeks crying.

Most of the game both teams pretty much cancelled each other out yh it was lucky Watkins missed a sitter and the header he put it in the middle of goal not towards the corner but still a fantastic save by Raya but arsenal defended really well and took Thier chance's and when they went 1-0 up we weren't losing the game we had full control, unfortunately most people don't understand there's so many ways to win a game of football and that you can't always play amazing or don't need to play amazing to win you just need to win, arsenal deserved it because we took our chances and villa didn't, Tottenham were lucky not lose Vs Leicester but Leicester didn't take their chances, Liverpool were lucky to go in 0-0 Vs Ipswich but still won sometimes it's not as clear cut to win by being amazing but unfortunately alot of people dont actually understand football.

You took your chances, that’s why you won the game, and deservedly so. Quality side you lot, no doubt.

It’s not some type of comprehensive win where you took it to us and we were just overwhelmed by you.

If we take our chances, you guys would not have won. Here’s why I say that. We now have an attacking force that can actually exploit high presses. Because of that, being a goal or two down, you all would have come out of your shell a bit, you would’ve had to push forward to get a goal, and undoubtedly gaps would’ve appeared that, given the threat of a Morgan, Rogers, a Watkins, even McGinn or Onana, there would’ve been additional opportunities to score.

Overall I feel arsenal took their chances when it mattered most and that's the difference between 2 good sides. Its all about fine margins. When a game is this tight, it requires great technical abilities to prevail and that's what arsenal did yesterday.
