Been a fan of Bvlgari Black since it's launch. It's unfortunate it's discontinued and the price is so high now. Great video nonetheless. I love her creations.
If the latex facet is what appealed (which some call a rubber tire smell, more because of the packaging), then Tom of Finland, now renamed Clean Suede from ELDO, has that exact same facet. They are different scents overall but they share that one facet in common along with vanilla. The deep drydown of Patchouli 24 is also reminiscent but it takes a long time for it to get there.
I love learning more about a perfumer and their work. Annick is brilliant. She has an affinity for the shadow smells in scents. I won’t miss you if we get more content like this
A big fan of Bvlgari Black since it launched. I’ve gone through several bottles in the past and lucky to still have a sealed back-up bottle. I tried AllSaints Incense City and it reminded me of BB, minus the tea note. A spendier dupe is apparently BDK Creme de Cuir which I’ve yet to try and hoping to get a sample of.
She's made some amazing scents. There are several I haven't tried, though. I've always wanted to get my nose of Kokorico - that bottle alone intrigues me, but it sounds great. I also want to try Close Up from Olfactive Studio. That's a brand I haven't tried anything from, I but keep forgetting about them since you just don't hear others talking about them.
"Annick Menardo does really great things with resins." Yes! Bois d'Armenie is a prized possession in my perfume cabinet, and I've also noticed the evolution between Bois d'Argent and Bois d'Armenie. She's such a talented perfumer, and does wonderful things with licorice, as showcased in the Lolita Lempicka feminine line.
I absolutely love Amouage Overture! I got a sample at Neiman Marcus when I purchased Jubilation. I still have it on my list to purchase soon hopefully 😮💨
She's great and she does great things with resinous notes, smoke, amber and unconventional ingredients. But my all time favorite of hers is Bvlgari Black.
I always wanted to try BVLGARI Black, I've checked and you can still get it at a reasonable price on eBay. Also curious about STARCK Peau D'Ailleurs and the ones from Une Nuit Nomade. I really enjoy this perfumer series, thanks for the video Seabastian!!!
This lady is the best...Love Roma, that Lolita Lempicka, and especially Bvlgari Black...the smells of my youth. She also did Xeryus Rouge by Givenchy, which I also loved. Memory Motel and Rose America are on my list. Thanks!!
Lolita Lempicka, I think is her best most memorable composition. If only we can have the original formulation back. I also have the Sports Car Club. Thos does not smell as its name but I love it for its spa-like slow drive across pine trees vibes.
I really love these perfumer videos! I wore Bvlgari Black back in the day when it was first released. More recently, I’ve worn Bois D’Argent and Lavallière, which are both really great! Now that I know about the perfumer, I’m interested in trying more of her fragrances on this list. Thanks, Sebastian! ❤
Jaipur edp is a classic staple in my collection. It doesn’t necessarily smell dated but has a classic touch if that makes sense. I usually wear it around the holidays and it does garner compliments.
I've done a Bertrand video before almost 10 years ago but working on another. I think I have to do multiple for him because he has done so so much. But either way I'm working on one for his fragrances. So stay tuned.
Figment Man by Amouage is my favorite of her creations. I am requesting the next perfumer portfolio Karine Vinchon-Spenner. Alberto Morilla's , Dominique Ropion's and Bertrand Doushafour's videos were formidably entertaining and those mentioned and the one requested are my favorites artists
I like Karine Vinchon-Spenner creations but the catalog is not vast sadly. Might be able to put a list of 10 together we shall see. I am def updating Bertrand Duchaufour though.
Fate Man, Overture Man, Boundless, Myths Man, Lineage and Memoir man by Amouage, Memo Paris's Tiger's nest and Xerjoff/Casamoratti line 1888 are some of her creations Sebastian. These are the ones I know from research she created!
Amazing video! I had no idea she was responsible for so many great scents. I was a huge fan of Roma, Jaipur (all time fav), as well as Bulgari Black. As you can tell, I was in my prime in the 90’s! I’ve started to revisit my old time favs and am currently wearing the classic Armani Homme, absolutely love it. On the hunt for a bottle of the classic Bijan per Homme. Many thanks for all your work! Hope you make it to Greece this September.
I agree. The first ever video on any perfumer I ever did was on the last channel and it was for Annick Menardo as I had so many favorites. So she's done some great work for sure! :)
Her earlier designer stuff was magic. 🧡 Also a fan of her work for Amouage and I heard Bottled Elixir was decent too? Since we're both astute fans of Boss' original #6 edt, I'd love to get your take on that one Sebastian. I do love those bottle colours.
I have't tried the new Boss Bottle Elixir but hated the Parfum so I hope it's good. I love Boss Bottled Original #6. Yes it's quite good. Been meaning to do a video on the Boss Bottled Saffron and Aromatic as well I haven't had time. So hoping for that soon.
@@ThePerfumeGuy Speaking of perfumers, I just saw that Alberto Morillas and Olivia Giacobetti perfumed 2 new collections for Zara respectively. The Blanc collection looks like white musk galore. But both look highly molecular driven.
Quentin and Dominique are already in videos. I think he has at least two about Ropion. Oops, I just started typing without looking at your comments, Sebastian
@@catherinelynnfraser2001 thank you so much! I will watch them!! I have so many perfumes from both of these wonderful perfumers I don’t know how I missed this!!
Ooh I would love to but it would mostly be a few brands. And sadly I don't even own any of his own catalog. I do like his fragrances so maybe in the future.
I wish to compare them sometime soon but i think it's the preference of the perfumer to use one or the other or both. I think the patchoulol is sweeter. But don't quote me on that.
@@ThePerfumeGuy well the original one had an extrait thickness to it. It’s gotten thinner and more haze like as the years have gone by. It’s still powerful but that waxy thick red paste sillage is gone. It’s still beautiful though. Confetto is it’s mother and still somehow retains its beauty so idk what Dior is doing.
I really wanted to also get Midnight Poison and missed out on that one. But will eventually go get a bottle of Hypnotic Poison, I should just have it. :)
@@ThePerfumeGuy I think she based Gaiac 10 off Visit, just a much more polished and creamier rendition. Visit is much more incense-y at its heart and the opening is sharper.

Loved Annick Menardo since I discovered Bvlgari Black. Oh that fresh, tyre shop smell. 😍
Thanks to reviewers like you Sebastian, I'm starting to take note of the nose or perfumer behind each fragrance I love.
My pleasure!

Ohhh, I looooove Overture Woman, possibly my favourite Amouage fragrance.

You're welcome! :)
Bois D'Argent is a triumph of 21st century perfume. I've got the edc and edp and, whilst different, they're both sensational
Great video and I enjoyed it and she is one of my favorite profumers and have a blessed day
thank you.
You welcome keep up the good work GOD BLESS 🙏
Well done for highlighting yet another perfumer, bringing the spotlight onto some ones life's work. The Le Labo scents are exquisite.
I still have my original bottle of Bvlgari Black that I got in my teens. Still love it. Sad it was discontinued.
Awesome.
Jaipur edp is a classic staple in my collection. It doesn’t necessarily smell dated but has a classic touch if that makes sense. I usually wear it around the holidays and it does garner compliments.
My grandfather loved Jaipur in the 90s and so does my father ( and myself) today and it's very affordable..
Came in Touch with Annick Menardo with Potion by Dsquared. Great!
Oohh yes, Lavallière is gorgeous. I'll take fig fruit anytime, fig leaf not so much!
Loved this video. If you have not done it, Bertrand Duchaufour is amazing. Would love to see you do his works. Thanks again!

Definitely a video on Paolo terenzi. That would be amazing. Probably my favourite perfumer. But that would mean I’d have to wait till you get to P

Hope you do one for Pierre Bourdon fragrances 🤞

I need to Visit Visit! :)
Yes, Rose America is very nice. I am wearing

Would love to see videos featuring Quentin Bisch, Pascal Gaurin & Dominique Ropion creations

And I also did a Dominique Ropion video about 2 years ago:

Hi Sebastian, Do you have any views on Cabochard by Grès ? Also Chergui and De Profundis from Serge Lutens?

Hey!!! Please go Jean Kerleo🎉
I used to have Rose America 🌹
Azzaro Visit is an amazing cheapie
Bois D'Armenie is absolutely amazing. It's so delicious and sensual
Could you do a video on Christian Provenzano fragrances ?
Ooh I would love to but it would mostly be a few brands. And sadly I don't even own any of his own catalog. I do like his fragrances so maybe in the future.
About Jaipur, Annick Menardo made the clear bottle 1998 NOT frost one. Am I wrong?
7:20 I think the second name is polish and is pronounced Lempitska
Sonia Constant would be a good one
OOh yes!
I love hypnotic poison.
Sadly I do not own Hypnotic Poison, might have to get it.
What is the difference in smell between patchouli and patchoulol (presumanly an alcohol made from patchouli)?
I wish to compare them sometime soon but i think it's the preference of the perfumer to use one or the other or both. I think the patchoulol is sweeter. But don't quote me on that.
Wonderful🎉🎉🎉
