I know why it’s underrated: the animation is superlative, the story is sweet and fun, and the acting is topnotch, but in spite of this, it doesn’t get paid nearly its due as a great film. “Underrated” isn’t the word you mean, I think, it’s under-appreciated.

Yeah, but that's evident long before this scene. When they're on the boat and think they are going to die, Miguel says that his biggest regret that their greatest adventure is over before it began, while Tulio's regrets never having enough gold!
Yeah. All of the Shrek films sucked. Kung-Fu Panda was terrible. El Dorado and Prince of Egypt were gems. Sinbad was okay but they started mixing that cheap 3D crap by then.
