I chatted with Matthew in the Mirc chatroom,alt.suicide.busstop a few days before the shootings.
He said that he and his friends often stalked women in a car and planned to rape them as he believed they(either the women or him and his friends)'deserved' it.I think he meant that he and his friends deserved it as he also said that they were 'owed' it.
He was pretty creepy and often very angry. He did talk of guns bur most people just passed him off as another lunatic.
    He was a ticking time-bomb

Again that CNN interviewer/reporter got on my nerves! The minister or whatever spoke much but said little. Attack of Satan? Oh brother. sigh. I won't even touch that one.

We don't have to pick one extreme or the other here. I agree that there are many oppressive religious groups that are really tough for some youths to be a part of, but I DO NOT see this as a natural consequence. This kid shot innocent people who were in the same boat as him. There are constructive ways to oppose others but this is not it. I'm betting that this kid would have been angry at the world no matter what his upbringing was. Normal people do not get fed up, shoot innocent people and then kill themselves just to make a point.
