About their attack "HAKAI":
When you hear the word "hakai" in Japanese, it simply means means "destruction" and normally nothing else. But in this case, both the "HA" and "KAI" parts use different kanji. It means something like "supremacy of the ocean". But it somehow brings the feel of the original "hakai" word. In this scene, we can understand it like "DESTRUCTIVE POWER OF THE GREAT OCEAN".

Zoro's SECOND huge durability feat moment finally animated, and it was glorious.
Even if it was only briefly, Zoro blocked a named combination attack from two Yonko. It's pretty evident that attack would have _ended_ the supernovas if it properly connected.

Fun fact: The "Hakai sovereignty" technique that Kaido and Big mom unleashed is very similar to the "Hakoku sovereignty" technique used in the past by Broggy and Dorry. Makes sense considering Big mom spent most of her childhood in Elbaf

People miss the point of this scene, Zoro intended to sacrifice himself here. He didn't think he was going to come out of that alive, which is why he put his all into blocking the attack. Gave up himself so Luffy could live.

Zoro’s highlights in this battle has been wild. He did what Luffy and the others couldn’t do.
Edit: I meant at that very moment. Everyone, including Zoro, was in shock but Zoro was the only one who retaliated and stood his ground against the most powerful attack ever seen for a little bit. It was impressive, but I never said that it made him stronger than Luffy 🤦🏽♂️

@@GrowingDownUnder Maybe. But also maybe not. Haki plays a huge factor into these things. Bellamy has Haki and yes Bartolemeo was still able to barrier block his punch. But I feel with Kaidou’s Haki he could break that barrier. In my opinion. Also with Kuma, we’ve seen Kuma repel attacks from the straw hats pre-timeskip. Who knows if he’ll still be able to block an advanced armament Haki punch.

Haki has no effect on foxy's devil fruit, if you get hit by the slow slow beam the haki won't protect you you'll still turn into slow motion. Haki doesn't work on bartolomeo's barrier because we saw in odens flashback the previous barrier devil fruit user defended odins strongest haki attack and it did nothing to the barrier. Haki doesn't work for everything, it also doesn't work on kuma who can repel attacks. That's because kuma can already be hit in the first place so using haki isn't going to make any different. Haki doesn't nullify a devil fruit, but it makes you able to hit it. And the way kumas power works is you have to hit it for him to repel it. So yeah you can already hit kuma and he repels the attack regardless if you have haki or not dude

Tbh i really think Zoro is so much closer to Luffy's powerlevel than everybody thinks, the guy is so terrifying at times and until Wano hasn't had a single REAL Challenge since the Time-Skip.
I think his haki is on the same Level as luffy maybe he cant use ryo but his conqeur haki is stronger cause he knew this ability since sobaody before timeskip
The "power level" went to hell, no reason to pretend One Piece still follow any kind of rule. Which is natural, every shonen loses control when things escalates too much. Ever since the Doflamingo fight things are getting messy, the Wano arc broke the escalation for good
Dude, Bajrang Gun would turn Zoro into dust and thats overkill, his base is enough. Hakai is overrated. It's two casual air slashes from characters who don't even fight with that type of moves normally. I bet Kaido's flame dragon could overpower it without too much difficulties. Zoro blocking the attack just downscales the attack because zoro isn’t that strong. What statements or feats other than hyperbolic proves this attack was stronger than bajrang gun Hakai is an AOE attack. You only get hit by so much of its impact as your body happens to cover. Bajrang Gun is a single solid attack. If you get in the way you take the full impact.
Kaido and Big Moms attack may have been combined, but the input from each individual was very, very casual. In terms of feats and scaling/calcs its currently Bajrang Gun.
God damn, that attack gave me goosebumps. Not to mention Zoro.. he's just on a whole other plain of badassery at this point.

Oda had to make Zoro fight restricted on 2 time limits against a character with a stall invincibility hax just to give Zoro a challenge while Law and Kidd got to shine as captains against Big Mom.

Given the context of both series, it wasn’t meant to mean Destruction and more of the combination of Haō (Conquerer) and Kai (for sea). This Kanji (覇海) is for Kaido and Big Mom’s attack, while this (破壊) is the Kanji for Beerus’s “Hakai” attack.

Zoro’s progress from the beginning of the series up until now is crazy. He really became a goat out here
Zoro's power has grown tremendously during the course of Wano especially during this fight against Big mom and Kaido. You can see he was pushed to his utmost limit during this fight especially while blocking this combined attack. Not a lot of characters in the One Piece world would be able to pull of what Zoro did here and live, let alone go on to actually scar Kaido afterwards. The power gains, experience and knowledge he got not just through this fight but his fight against King as well will definitely help him a lot in future arcs.

The Right Hand of the King. MVP of the entire series. He sees Luffy getting stronger, so he must get stronger to protect his captain.
Let's remember, out of all the paths, The Strawhats got used to taking the path of most resistance due to Luffy's decision making. That led to everyone, especially his first mate Zoro expect danger. Other crews like Kid's may have mastered their devil fruit but not haki due to not intentionally clashing with dangerous enemies. Law used intellegent tactics to gain access around the Red Line by becoming a Shikibukai and was well aware of the concept of haki due to Doflamingo but not the effects of it's developed extremities. Here, Kaido and Big Mom are proficient Haki users and even able to synchronize their attacks.
So when this chapter came out it was madness. Alot of people tried to downplay it but hear me out on a perspective I heard during that time.. If a bus is going 100mph and you stop it even for a sec or so, you still stopped/matched the bus . No matter how long it was. Zoro is beastly. Just wait to wait it looks like will be the next episode 😎
If you’re bringing real word physics into this I don’t think you understand acceleration if you think you can stop a bus moving 100mph “only for a second”

I dont know which name fits better for this huge attack.. The japanese "Hakai" which means destruction, or the eng version "conquest of the sea".. both amazing
And Zoro blocking that by himself willing to die for his captain. And many miss the fact why the others hesitate to dodge while he was blocking, its because they knew he would die

Wonderfully and beautifully animated scene and Zoro's quick action to block this devastating attack should be highly commended even if it was for a few minutes. He definitely risked it all by saving the rest of the supernovas. Major props to him in doing so. He will surely be the greatest swordsman in the world when the grand finale comes into play.

Zoro is one of my favorite characters ever. He is insane and a beast. I can't wait to see his attack to Kaido being animated
Zoro's greatest strength is being always focused and ready when danger is nearby. As you can see, even Luffy or Law had no idea what to do, because they were overwhelmed by the powerful display of a 2x Yonkou attack. Zoro is always ready, just like at the beginning of the egghead arc.
