We have seen indecisive brides, but how many change their mind AFTER buying the dress? Poor Jacinthe is so afraid of other people's opinions (especially her mother's), that she doesn't know what she wants anymore - but is she being true to the most important person in the room - herself?
Gok isn't getting impatient, she's been conditioned to think she's tiresome.
Even when she was talking about her fiance, she said he puts up with her.

I grew up like this. It takes a lot of work to fix.

This poor woman was picking a dress based on what everyone else wanted, not what she wanted. That is not how you pick your wedding dress. As gorgeous as she was in each of those dresses, I'm glad she picked the one that SHE wanted.
And she kept critisizing her self. Seems like she got a lot of criticism from her mom.
I think her friends helped her. Great, honest friends.
So glad she changed her mind and went back to the first dress. She looks absolutely stunning in everything she tried on but the first dress looks exquisite on her!
She seems so discouraged by whatever she was told before, but I’m glad that she ended up choosing the dress that SHE wanted. She is absolutely beautiful!

I know your heart is in the right place but it's not great to hear she's just shell of human because of her personality and circumstances that caused it to become more extreme. Idk to me as someone that can kinda relate to her it rubs off the wrong way. We should direct our frustrations more on her parents that caused her that pain instead of calling her a shell because of her pain.

I really try to respect other people's cultures, but no one has the right to terrify someone without even being physically present. That's not parenting or cultural heritage, it's just being plain toxic.
I wouldn't call her mother's behaviour a cultural thing, toxic parenting unfortunately spans many different countries and cultures.
Glad she tried to find a balance, even more glad she was able to see through that balance and find the balance that was right for her which was prioritizing herself!

It’s because someone(s) and their experiences have taught/trained them not to see their own value. It is learned unconsciously and takes a lot of conscious work to retire your own thoughts about yourself when they have gotten to that point. And it can happen to anyone, men and women.

N original you make it sound like her fiance is the bad man or something she said he's patient and puts up with her and don't think she meant it in a bad way as in he loves her enough to be by her side no matter what and that is true love and it's her mother that is the problem not the fiance.

A BEAUTIFUL woman with a judgmental family and non-supportive friends. She was not "confused", she was scared to be judged by her family and friends. I'm so happy that in the end she chose what she really wanted instead of what others wanted for her. She have a beautiful figure, like a model, she should be a confident and empowered woman.
I thought her friends were supportive and honest. They actually tried to support her with the last dress but their smiles were father forced. It's her that needed validation from them. They only truly liked the first dress which is the one she loved.
No i agree with the friends being non-supportive. When the dress has sparks they're judgemental and saying that it's too much, and when it doesn't have the sparks, suddenly it's too old. Like how is that helpful?
@@mind_palace they only said that the 1st dress wouldn't meet with her mother's approval. she has already returned a dress after her mother tore her down. they're just trying to help her pick a dress that she likes and that her mother won't tore down. Can't fault them for that.

That video at the end made my day! The first one was jaw dropping, gorgeous and sophisticated, the other one was safe. With a "tiger mum" of my own, I know how hard it is to simply choose what makes YOU happy... it causes panic attacks. I finally had to let her go, I love her but she made me miserable, kept sabotaging my life. I hope Jacinthe has the wedding and the life of her dreams!

Watching it back for the second time, I feel like she started crying when she tried on the first dress because she feels scared/unworthy when she feels happy about something and that makes me soo much more proud of her for choosing it in the end

So glad she went with her heart in the end. The first one suited her the best - it was young and sparkly. The other two were too old for her. I only hope her mother didn’t spoil it for her and supported her choice. After all, Jacinthe was the one getting married and she had to feel comfortable and happy on the day. Oddly, I liked dress #2 best, but am delighted she decided for herself. May she grow as strong and lovely in character as she is in physical beauty.
I know what you're saying (and agree she's stunning ❤) but I think she clearly is abundantly lovely in character and probably has a great deal of inner strength; it just seems undermined by insecurity.
My heart just breaks for her. I cried as she cried, because I can understand her. I hope her friends don’t take it personally that she said she was afraid of them, I’m sure that’s not what she meant… it’s hard to express yourself when you’re that afraid.. of what, you don’t even know. It seems she has been attacked by criticism for so long and so harshly that she anticipates it and reacts before it even comes.
Her mom has broken her so much that she is afraid of disappointing everyone at this point. She had no sense of self and confidence becuaee it was ruled over by mom. It’s sad 😭😭 I hope she continues to realize it’s her world and what she wants, respectfully. Don’t need no ones validation.

I couldn't watch my daughter cry like this. I tried to make her strong and independent. I trust her choices in life. I will totally support and empower her when she gets married. I know the wedding day is about her, not me. This bride is gorgeous.
Ohhh, I almost missed the end bit where she went back to the first, fabulous dress. I"m so glad she did. She looked radiant in that one. The others were fine, but that first one was just amazing on her. So glad she stood her ground and ended up going for the dress SHE wanted, as opposed to satisfying others.

People say they're unsupportive but they knew her and that it'd take a long time but still came. She needed them for validation but they came to support her and their reactions were what she truly felt.

I'm so glad that she chose the first dress! I knew that she loved it but was going for something more covered up and traditional for her Mum. That's why she was crying, she wasn't confused. She was going against her heart with the other dresses.
Ooooh sweet beautiful woman. My heart breaks. I recognize signs of CPTSD in her that I've experienced from longterm family trauma. She's so gorgeous and has such kind eyes - I hope that she can find herself inside all the second-guessing and confusion and insecurity that comes from not feeling safe or supported. I'm sure she intellectually knows that her friends support her, but she is stuck on that vague feeling of "oh no everyone's frustrated and impatient with me and staring at my flaws." Wishing her the best - these struggles can be overcome and she will come out the other side with the empathy and wisdom of the whole world :)

I literally screamed at her home video, I was ok with the one she picked in shop, but I kept thinking of the first and how she loved it and looked amazing, seriously so happy she went with that one.

100% truth. Her mom is a narcissist.
It is less a personality disorder than a culturally approved way of acting in certain classes of that culture. It is toxic but not developed in the psyche the same way.
Feels like she’s crumbling under the pressure. I hope her actual wedding day and the rest of her life are full of joy.

After bingewatching this program, I decided to support my daughter even if she wants to get married at a nudist camp. I cant understand why mothers, systers, friends, fathers are so invested in a dress that they hurt their feelings in the most mean and cruel way.

I am glad I watched to the end because I really like dress #1 as well. I am so glad this bride put herself first, but she still was considerate towards her mum and her friends. It's her wedding dress and her and her husband-to-be's future marriage. I wish her a wonderful wedding and a wonderful marriage.
