Thanks so much for everything you've taught me over the last 6 mos. I've went from sounding like garbage with a record collection and brand new TT to playing gigs at a local dive bar, and making some groovy mixes. You're the man! You've been one of the most important teachers in my journey through the beats! Thank you so much man! Keep it up!

Breakbeat is my favourite! Most underrated music genre! From Big Beat Rory Hory to the Prodigy, Britain's style is great!

I am so pleased you have done another video on Breaks/Breakbeat, as it's one of my favourite dance music genres. Really helpful, and supportive. Hope there are more videos of breaks to come.

I watched this video 12 years ago and then bought the Y4K album used from Discogs. I'm old now and do other things, but I still have my two 1210s and I think I'm gonna hook 'em up again and play this. Thank you for all the inspiration and useful knowledge you gave me back in the days. Great to discover your channel is still around (just subscribed). Greetings from Hamburg

This was useful, thankyou. I've been playing Breakbeat for two days and love it. I wanted to improve my sets and I had been chopping up and down on the channel faders which didn't sound great. I'll set my Crossfade as you suggest and try this technique. I also fancy scratching but my controller doesn't sound very loud in the scratch and I'm hopeless at it too! :D

Great tutorial! A different style i have never really thought of it. Just have to make sure the instrumentals or just the beat itself have someone what of the same BPM or one is say 160BPM while the other is 80BPM

You know its gonna be fuckin tough shit when you got fire estinguisher behind you. Still here enjoying there videos. I hope corona will show us how important music actually is and many people will understand that DJing was actually more than pressing sync+play -buttons on expensive pioneerdecks and "equing" like pretending they are doing something not to get bored for crowd.

just noticed you had a 4 channel mixer too, my brother has a similar mixer and i see him using 2 channels per turntable, not sure exactly how he does it but it could be right in one and left in the other. Just thought i'd mention this feel free to experiment with it yourself too.

there are 2 guys that did a mix for the back2back tenminmix (bangbrothers) and they've got some pretty damn sweet cuts in there. i'd check it out for more stuff like this. 10* vid j

nope, the closest you can get is a QFO I guess, or serato with a couple of good turntables but you must have a good laptop to minimize the delay.

Great video. Your cutting skills are good and it was very well executed in the video.
Have you ever done cutting without using a second track? To create an effect of like a brief moment of silence before bringing back the original track?

@truesouljs I'm sorry I click out if the video before he said that. I'm on iPod so I can't comment and watch. Anyway I use a djx 100 cuz it was free and my gemini broke. I don't like it because it doesn't have many features but I do like the 700 that I have used. So what's rong with the 750? Mabye I've been oblivious but I like behringer. Pls explain ur side.

@boogerman087 No mate it's the Pioneer DJM600 which has been discontinued because they now have the 700 & 800. By the way Pioneer are very expensive I paid €550 for a DJM400...Only 2 channels but a great mixer with effects & a sampler. Also NO BEHRINGER PRODUCT IS WORTH $230!! I used have a DJX700. Paid €300 for it. The eq lights stopped working after a month, the on/off effect button got stuck down soon after & the sound was terrible. DONT WASTE CASH ON BEHRINGER!! Peace out...DJTrueSoul.

American break beats must be different from UK break beats. I do hear the drums but it's not the same as Funky Drummer, Theme from SWAT, or Apache.

"im usually not the biggest fan of djs but fuck man, you're awesome and you've definately made me realise djs arent just some dude behind a computer" oh shit possible rocker/metalhead spotted, probably just came out of his ignorant shell, yes this shit is hard, requires understanding music, takes years of experience to master, requires compositional skills to produce, requires skills in general, involves various techniques and there is potential to develop whatever is already present further.
